Help creating a backgroung

Advice

Hey guys, I'm starting a new Pathfinder adventure, and I want to create a gunslinger. Unfortunately, my DM does not fancy guns, and doesn't want to allow it in the world, but at the same time, he does not want to forbid me from using the class. The idea he had was: my character will come from another continent/plane/place that has no contact with the "world" the campaign is set, meaning I would be the only gunslinger around. Not a problem there. But we can't see a way of creating a background for this. I want help with ideas for creating this story.
Our ideas so far:

1- My character came from another plane/world, sent here by some arcane. The reasons for this is that my character killed/got in trouble/something like this with a powerful family/guild/etc, and had to run away to a safe place, or I was banned for this reason, and then sent to another plane.

2 - Basically the same idea, but from a different continent, with no contact with ours, and there has to be a reason for they both are not in contact.

In both ideas we thought about my character getting his memory erased, so he would have no means to tell people where he came from, how it is in there, or a way to get back. This would be the character reason to search for "who he really is", and I think it's a interesting concept.

Please, help me with ideas to make this work

P.s. sorry for the bad English and the long post. Thanks in advance

Wondering if you've read the Bolt Ace archtype for the gunslinger?
It replaces the gun for a crossbow. Just an idea.

You could be exiled for a crime (may or may not have actually committed), hence the planar/long distance travel and mind-wipe (easier to exile if they don't know how to get back or if they even know there is a "get back"). Exile is not a death sentence so you get to keep a weapon and knowledge of how to use it (and make ammo for it), and other potential survival skills. You are the first to "this" location, they wouldn't send all exiles to the same place, they might catch on.
They might even know how to get you back, once/if they later found you not guilty.

It might be good for your GM to come up with the crime (but it should fit your PC's personality, if you actually did it, unless the mind-wipe wiped you of your original personality, so it wasn't really you. This could get messy) and let you find out for yourself. This could be an amazing piece of storytelling or it could be terrible. This should be up to your GM.

Another potential idea is you invented the first firearm. Might be a bit of an ego trip, but no-one else thinks it's a good idea (hence no-one else using it) so maybe not.
I assume you're using the musket, blunderbuss etc (original) firearms and not modern, otherwise this is a bit of a stretch.

"You were part of a time traveling experiment that went a little kaka."

Just not sure how you plan on getting bullets if there are no other guns in the world. Guess you could craft them yourself?

That sounds a little like "Army of Darkness".

As for the Bolt Ace archetype, I missed that one. Treat it as the base of the class and it shouldn't be any kind of problem for the 'no guns in fantasy' group. Assuming, you as the player are alright with the no guns.

I've actually read about the bolt ace, but I really wanted the guns. It just looks cooler, and I never liked crossbows.

We thought about me inventing the gun and rtc, but this would be too much complex, because I would have to invent the pistol, the black powder, the other ammunitions and so on. (And yes, we are just using early guns)

The time travel thing is a little bit of push-up (I don't know if that's the expression, I mean it's so complex and fictional) and don't think it would work. Also, yes, the gunslinger can make his own bullets.

I liked the exile idea, but the problem is: what sort of crime a not-so-skilled pistolero could accomplish that would be so bad that they have to exile him, but not bad enough so they don't just kill him instead?

Quote:
Akiton (pronounced A-keh-ton) is the fourth planet from the sun in Golarion's star system

In a game I was in recently, one player wanted much the same thing.

They solved it by saying he was from Akiton, another planet in Golarion's system which is linked to Golarion by gates.

By lore, the Red Men of Akiton are 4-armed giants, but the GM shifted them to be just like the Martians from the John Carter books and movie.
Humans in the books have guns and so did the lost 'red' human gunslinger who ended up on Golarion.

Since his use of the gate was accidental and one way, it gave him an interesting background , but nothing overpowering.
The character just kept Knowledge (Engineering) and Craft (Alchemy) high to represent his greater knowledge of guns and such.

Loved the John Carter idea, and so did my DM. Going to use it, and my PC goal with be finding a way back home. Thank you all very much
