Robe of Arcane Heritage and Eldrich Heritage Feats.

Rules Questions

I am playing a Master Summoner and plan to take the Eldrich Heritage Feats eventually, aiming for the 15th level Abyssal bloodline power.

17th level is a long way away and I want to know if I can speed the process up if I obtain a Robe of Arcane Heritage? It is anything from clear from what is written under the descriptions.

You can't speed it up with the robe.

The robe may do many things. It might even improve powers gained through Eldritch Heritage. But it will not let you get around the "character level 17th" prerequisite of the Greater Eldritch Heritage feat.

Sorry to disappoint. ^_^

It's my interpretation that a Robe of Arcane Heritage has no effect on Bloodline abilities granted via the Eldritch Heritage feat tree:

The Robe of Arcane Heritage states that "the wearer treats her sorcerer level as 4 higher than normal for the purpose of determining what bloodline powers she can use and their effects", but Eldritch Heritage states that "for purposes of using that power, treat your sorcerer level as equal to your character level – 2, even if you have levels in sorcerer" or with Greater Eldritch Heritage "treat your character level as your sorcerer level".

Because the feats are explicitly based off of character level rather than Sorcerer level (even if you actually have Sorcerer levels) the robes (which grant an effective increase in Sorcerer level) would have no effect.

I knew that was a much deeper can of worms, and specifically avoided addressing it.

Fortunately, the goal here is obviously much simpler - faster access to the Greater Eldritch Heritage feat, aiming for the Added Summonings bloodline power. That question was far more open-and-shut.

Indeed, putting any other issues aside the robes definitely don't get around the prerequisites for the Greater Eldritch Heritage feat.

I didn't realise the rest of my first response was so contentious, but since it's effectively off-topic in this discussion I started a new topic to see if we can get a definitive answer.

You don't get bloodline powers from your virtual sorcerer levels, so early access is definitely out. That said, I see no reason why the Robes won't allow you to be treated as 4 levels higher for the bloodline powers you do have.

Thanks for the input people.

And I think you are right Kalindlara and jbadams.

Most irritating as it delays what I want to do.
