Requesting a Kingmaker, Jade Regent, or Carrion Crown Campaign.

Recruitment

1 to 50 of 63 << first < prev | 1 | 2 | next > last >>

So, I've had characters for these campaigns I've been dying to try out- The only issue is that I don't have anyone to play them with, nor folks really willing. As such, I'd like to see if anyone cares to offer to DM an adventure path for me.

Characters for the adventure paths:
Jade Regent-
Ralph Williams- A wandering singer, he had walked on his own for the past fifty years.
A minor request would be allowing me to take the Childhood Crush campaign trait with Koya.

Kingmaker
Katlin "Cart" (Mayned)- A little girl, born and raised as a soldier- Her loathing of the art being pliable.
Primary mechanical change- Young Character Rules not limiting characters to NPC classes.

Carrion Crown
Isaac Himsl McMillen, AKA, Isaac- In his youth, he was damned. Some being of power played with his mothers mind, taking all his material possesions until he was "Pure."
He killed her with her own knife, his body melding into the stuff of nightmares, as the being shaped the world around him thusly.
He was three.
And now, here is is, returning home. Oh the terror.
Primary Mechanical Change- Add a ranged evolution, flavored as his tears.

id totally love to join you in a game with the young girl kate, i think it would make a really interesting RP experiance. i too would love to play gramlag here in just about any AP, i really wanna get the chance to try out the build hes got and i havnt been given alot of opertunity to wet my feet in PBP as apparently recruiting is really cut throat and hard to get in

I would love to get into a Kingmaker game. I've been in a few but all have died before the end of book 1.

I'm on the same boat as Talomyr, I'd like a kingmaker game the only one i was in the dm ditched really quickly. so if any dm thats hosting one see this and is willing to PM me that'd be great

I'd personally would love to get into a JR game with this character.

I've always been highly attracted to JR simply because I understand its an eastern themed game, which is not something I have had the pleasure of experiencing before, and I would love to see how that turns out.

Mackenzie something said something about running a kingmaker pbp soon.

This is a character I've been wanting to use in Kingmaker for a while (a long while, if the extra bits of fluff on the profile didn't give that away) and I have another couple of characters in mind for Crown and JR:

Valeria Skendar: Tiefling wizard born and raised in Sandpoint with a snarky and cowardly raven familiar (heavily based on Arnold Rimmer from Red Dwarf) who annoys her to no end. Hopelessly head-over-heels for Ameiko.

Name escapes me: Haven't used him, he's the Hermean-born father of another PC I've used in Council of Thieves (a trip to Ustalav being why he wasn't in Westcrown at the time) - a human gunslinger, personality still a bit up-in-the-air since I haven't ever made him before.

I had the pleasure of playing through the first fight in real life and then the GM had life issues and dropped the game...

that sucks, id also be very down for joining any of these campaigns

Wouldnt mind trying JR

Same here. Been in 3 Jade Regent games that lasted maybe 3 weeks.

Made this one for a JR that lasted until we hit the gobsy camp :(

Tell me about it Sister

Yes, I am hoping to run a Kingmaker soon, but I want to make sure I get a lot of the preparation and such out of the way ahead of time, because I'm going to be customizing it and using some home rules. I've been working on revamping the campaign traits somewhat, but the past couple days I have taken a step back and considered whether I might prefer to start the game at a higher level than 1st. (ie, the characters really would be experienced veterans of some sort, hence why they're granted the contract to explore/settle the Greenbelt area of the Stolen Lands.) If so, I would re-work the campaign traits to instead represent your role in the expedition, and specifically grant bonuses for kingdom building. (ie, gaining access to special terrain improvements, improving the bonuses granted by certain buildings, etc.)

I'll look into starting up a recruitment thread once I've made up my mind and settled on the actual rules to be used.

that sounds amazing mackenzie! ill be on th elook out for the thread!

Indeed it does Mackenzie, want help with converting your campaign traits?

Wow, those are some fast responses. What I am considering for traits would be something like the following:

---------------------------------

The Magistrate
The Swordlords of Restov have empowered you as a Brevan magistrate with authority over the entire territory of the Greenbelt within the Stolen Lands. As such, you may pronounce judgement on any bandits, brigands, or other criminals encountered, sentencing them to the death they so rightly deserve or granting clemency at your discretion should they show remorse and repent of their crimes. You need not carry out any executions personally, and may designate another willing person to end the life of sentenced criminals, but are responsible for ensuring that those who are executed receive proper burials, as the Swordlords will not tolerate any affront to Pharasma via the desecration of corpses.

Your power over life and death grants you a +2 bonus on all Intimidate checks, and Intimidate is always a class skill for you. Additionally, you begin play with four sets of masterwork manacles with good quality locks. Upon founding a kingdom, whenever you build a Jail or Town Hall building, you may select any one bonus granted by that building (such as the +2 Loyalty or -1 Crime of a Jail) and increase that bonus by 1 (granting +3 Loyalty or -2 Crime in the previous example).

---------------------------------

Thoughts on this style of trait?

I really like this, but I would tone down the +2 to +1 on intimidate. Together with the 4 mw manacles you give more than half a feat.
But apart from that.

The Soldier:
You have been in quite a few fights already and you have learned a valuable lesson. Who wo attacks first wins.
You gain a bonus of +2 to Iniative and you start the game with a squire. This is a level one expert, who takes care of your horse or armor.
If you build a garrison .....

That does sound very interesting.

Silver Crusade

As a thought for Kingmaker the -> Book of the River Nations: Complete Player's Reference for Kingdom Building (PFRPG)

Is an excellent aid, it provides more buildings and such.

Looks promising

That sounds intriguing to say the very least. Would you be willing to share what some the house rules (other than the trait changes) you plan to use are?

Yeah I have been keeping my eye on this since the very first post, very interested in kingmaker.

that trait sounds amazing coupled with the deuling cloak adept trait a swordlord character would be amazing!

if I was invited I would play a sorcerer who focus on evocation spells with some defensive spells thrown in the mix, i would also focus on crafting feats for wonderous items and arms/armor, I can fix up a character sheet if youd like to check it out

Well...
Heres my idea:
Reflavoured tiefling. -> Erinyes. Ranger. Maybe go Horizon Walker

@Mackenzie Kavanaugh

I was planning on making a diplomat for kingmaker any ideas on making traits for something like

this?

Silver Crusade

I've been wanting to play in a JR game too for awhile.

Do keep in mind that starting level will almost certainly be level 3 or level 4, so each player will be getting something of significant value in addition to the trait bonus and the bonus for kingdom building, and because of the higher level, still balanced. (The items will always be something thematic that most players wouldn't choose to buy except for RP purposes, so think campfire beads and similar.)

Some of the home rules I have in mind:

New buildings, improvements, etc, some from 3rd party sources, some from my own mind, and a few new rules for using them. You can see an example of what I'm doing with improvements over in the Suggestions/House Rules/Homebrew section if you're interested in what sort of stuff I'm up to. Also trying to make some of the buildings actually useful. (Right now, there's absolutely no reason for a party with a magic item crafter to build Magic Shops and such, because they're ludicrously expensive and give virtually no benefit aside from magic item slots, which you don't care about since you can make your own magic items for half the price.)

Adopting a minion/normal/boss type system such as 4th edition has, which would benefit my re-designed Stolen Lands tremendously. 16 level 2 fighters are not really a threat to a party of level 8 adventurers, despite being a CR 9 'by the book', since there's little chance of them actually hitting anyone except the party's casters, and won't do much damage. 16 level 6 fighters actually are a threat... but one that can still be easily overcome if they only have 1 hit point each. (And hey, what's not to love about wading through mobs of enemies to get to the final boss?)

Also trying to figure out how to keep the downtime rules without them being utterly broken for magic item crafting. (As written, the rules let you produce magic items for 1/2 the normal cost, ie 1/4 the base price. Since magic item crafting can be done at a pace of 1,000 gp/day, this allows magic item crafters to far outpace everyone else on generating money, even at low level, without even investing in feats or traits that make them better at doing so.)

Erhm, how do 1hp minions interact with fireball? Fatally?

Save or die. Minions treat everything as if they had Evasion, so save for half becomes save for nothing against them.

Sounds very cool, Mackenzie. If and when this happens, I have an Order of the Blue Rose Cavalier (Daring Champion) in mind to submit.

If I don't get into a game I'm currently applying for - which I should know within a few days - I might open up a Carrion Crown campaign of my own.

I'd like Carrion Crown -or- Kingmaker. I'm just kind of hanging out since I missed the last bus. :p

@Mackenzie & @GM Rednal
Would you be allowing gestalt builds?

I prefer to run smaller tables, so yes, I'd probably go for gestalt.

Cool I'm wanting to play a Monk//Ninja.

Even got the most awesome concept:
Intimidating Prowess -> Dazzling Display -> Shatter Defenses
Scale up the Dimensional feats until Dimensional Dervish
Sneak Attack ALL the enemies :D

Though am not sure whether I should go LN Martial Artist or LG Knockout Artist...

Pathfinder Adventure Path, Rulebook Subscriber

I'd be interested in any of those three games, particularly Jade Regent I think.

I'd like a Kingmaker or Crown game and if you're doing gestalt Swash/bard would be cool.

Add a dueling ability to my diplomat so she's not as one trick pony

Personally, I'd rather not play gestalt. Isaac has little to actually gestalt with.

I would prefer to stick to 4 players when running Kingmaker, which means no gestalt, as gestalt would require either accepting fewer players or increasing the challenge ratings whilst giving less xp to provide the same level of difficulty.

Either one works for me, I'll just spread out some of my feats

Glad to hear that, Mackenzie. The prospective Kingmaker game is the one that really has my interest and I am not a fan of gestalt. :)

I'd love to join a Carrion Crown or Jade Regent game. Bonus points for Gestalt, but I'm fine with regular too.

steeples fingers

Yes, Mackenzie. Yes... Tell us more of this Kingmaker gamer you have in mind.

Hey Tanner, long time no see. How's it going?

Indeed tell us more Mackenzie...

Going pretty well, Talomyr. I had to stop gaming for a while due to some medical issues, but it has been resolved. I have a year left on my doctorate, we now have two kids, and I'm enjoying playing with such fine folk. How about yourself?

What exactly do you all want to know? My mind still isn't quite made up on level 3 or level 4 for starting, and I don't have all the new campaign traits done yet. They're all based on why you're joining the expedition or what your role is though, not where you are from. That should open things up a bit for people who want to hail from Iobaria, Mendev, Numeria, or the River Kingdoms. (Only one trait will allow you to be from further away than that.)

I think we would like to hear more about your materials currently in development. Because they sound pretty cool! We can even help you out, if you are inclined to crowd-sourcing and feedback. Many hands make the labor light, as they say.
