Is crafting feasible / worthwhile in Shattered Star AP (non-Society)?

Shattered Star

Silver Crusade

Our GM is about to start us on the Shattered Star AP, and I am asking for non-Spoiler feedback from those who have played the AP: is crafting (mundane Craft skills, as well as Item Creation feats) feasible during this AP?

Meaning, are the PCs running around defeating evil the entire time? Or are there some in-game down time (weeks, at least) portions during which a PC could make <wands, wondrous items, etc.>?

Remember NO SPOILERS please!

Thank you for your time, and Game on!

That is a question best directed to your GM. We could tell you that between x adventurer that there is a several week block where you could craft, but then your GM could decide to only have a few day break there instead. Keep in mind you can always craft part time as part of your camp activities at a much slower rate, which doesn't help much if you are going for big ticket items, but helps fill in the gaps with consumables.

As far as I know the best crafting campaign is kingmaker. Tons of down time.

That being said even the adventurer can find crafting time.

I tend to favor scrolls, wonderous items and rods.

Read the rules on both speed crafting and 4 hour spurt crafting. Its in the main rules on crafting.

A adventuring crafter could work on an item 4 hours each day around the campfire. This can allow you to craft part of a expensive item and when you come across down time you can finish it up at a quicker pace.

Robert being 8 seconds faster then me lol.

Thanks for the info! I will check out the sections you suggested. The GM has not purchased parts 2-6 yet, so he has no idea of the timing to come.

Game on!

With a ring of sustainance or the new armor enchant, you can craft almost fully while adventuring.

Usually our party rests for 10h.

So with 2h sleep you have 8h uninterrupted work, which means 4h due to erviroment. Hasted (+5 DC) that is a DAT of crafting.

I have run the entire Shattered Star (wasn't terribly satisfied) and between books the pace is pretty much up to the PCs to dictate, some times even during a book.
