Advice

So i finally got my ACG! and i am going to create a Paladin of Nethys!
2 levels of paladin and the rest in magus eldritch scion archetype. any ideas on what feats to take?

I'll say it before anyone else does. Nethys being a neutral god can't have paladins, but if this is for a home game, and the GM allows it, do what feels right.

My first thought for feats are power attack, and arcane strike. If I sit back and think about I can probably come up with more.

yes of course, i mean what's wrong with that, i just wanted to give flavour to the thing, but the build don't depend on the fact that he worships nethys, is just for the story.

how about Human 20 points.

STR 16, Dex 10 Con 12, int 8, wisdom 10, Charisma 18

wielding a longsword.

lvl 1 pal: Power attack, fey foundling
lvl 3 scion onwards: weapon focus, Arcane bloodline.
lvl 5: Arcane strike, Arcana: Arcane accuracy
lvl 7: Intensify spell, Extra Arcane Pool
lvl 8: Empower magic.
lvl 9: lunge.
lvl 11: Improved Critical. Arcane Edge
lvl 13: Critical Focus.
lvl 14: Accurate Strike. maximized magic.
lvl 15: Sickening Critical.
lvl 17: Staggering Critical. quickened magic.
lvl 19: Critical Mastery. Critical Strike arcana.
lvl 20: Spell Shield arcana.

Shouldn't you consider at least enough paladin levels for Divine Grace? That's one of the major reasons to multiclass into paladin, isn't it?

i did, level 1 and 2 are paladin levels, i just didn't put the level because it doesn't have any importance. as you can see in the build, i am getting magus things 2 levels after. what traits should i use?

Why fey foundling? As you will not have a lot of LoH uses and it won't increase, it will heal you for 2 points more. I don't know if thats a good use of a feat. And why longsword over scimitar if you are going for crit feats?
Also I would probably start with less cha to increase con and dex.

I thought divine grace wasn't till 3rd level?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I'd recommend the Magic Knack trait, so that your Magus caster level doesn't lag for your 2-level Pally Dip.

Also, to those who say that Paladins don't make sense for Nethys, remember that Nethys has 2 aspects to him. A Paladin could easily focus on worshipping Nethys's good aspect and trying to combat/heal his more evil aspect.

Maybe you are thinking of Divine Health?

Well yes, i just thought that heal would come handy, i could be more min/maxy but i just wanted a standard quick build for you guys to help me with more complicated stuff, as i'm relatively new to optimizing.

the things i could do is, pick a better race, like an angel blooded aasimar, take Slashing Grace and dump Strengh, but i have dumped Str so many times as a Magus that i just felt the need to not do it this time.

Have been working on a pal/ES myself, though I'm going more defensive. You'll be pretty squishy for a long time with the low starting dex and the delays to heavy armor. I think the meta magic feats will be problematic with spell combat since it specifies the spell must take a standard action and the scion is a spontaneous caster (which makes most spells a full-round action). I'm pretty sure that'll be an issue in PFS but for home brew you may want to check w/your DM before you get 7 levels in. An 18-20 crit weapon is almost a must with as many crit feats as you're taking plus spell strike. I agree w/the others re: knack & fey foundling. Other than those issues, looks like a fun build!

Absolutely this. Nethys strikes me less as a "true neutral" deity and more as two deities that are smashed together, one neutral good, the other neutral evil.
