Ancestry feats and abilities - special?

I'm trying to make a 1st-level dwarf fighter, and am confused about an entry on the character sheet.

There are 3 spaces for 1st level in the Ancestry feats and abilities: Special, Heritage and Feat.

Heritage I get: for example Forge Dwarf.
Feat I get: for example Rock Runner.

But what is the "special" space for? Darkvision?

I would think yes, it's for the special stuff you get from Ancestry.

No, Darkvision would go under Senses, which is located in the Perception area. I was wondering the same thing.

Might be for futureproofing. I could see something like "certain ancestries have powerful abilities intrinsic to their identities, so if someone is playing one of those everyone else gets a bonus ancestry feat.

Alternatively it could be for the human heritage that gets a bonus general feat. So you write "Versatile" in the "Heritage" slot and the feat you got from it in the "Special" slot.

I've been trying to figure this out, too. What's the "special feat" for?

Someone commented that halflings are the only race that has a special feat.

Yeah Keen Senses on the Halfling is my assumption there, though one could make a case that should go in the senses box on the front like Darkvision. But as mentioned other ancestries might want it for the future. Cat folk might have claws as a built in ancestry feature, for example.

I have noticed a fair amount of future-proofing built in, so this could easily be that.
