This threads no longer about the movie then?
Oh, go on then. Have you seen the video where it shows the voice actors doing the work for The LEGO Movie? Chris Pratt looks a lot different there than he does in this film. Granted he's not all dressed up coz it's just his voice, but still - that beard!

It's funny because when casting the film, James Gunn originally didn't even want to see Pratt audition for Star-Lord. "That fat kid from Parks & Recreation?" he asked. But his casting assistant (or whatever her title is) pushed Pratt in near the end of the call. Gunn says Pratt nailed it and he was completely surprised.

Is that...a giant head of something incredibly massive floating in space?
Maybe the source of Ultron? I really looked like his head (just much, much bigger). I know canon has him being built by Henry Pym but that could be changed and there was rumor GotG was supposed to help set up Avengers 2: Age of Ultron.

Could be Ego, the Living Planet.
Yes, such a thing exists in the MU. ^^

Well, that was good. Things that stick in my brain:
Ship
Starlord's helmet transformation
Groot's roots
Rocket's voice
"Spirit in the Sky"
Gamora - yes, every second she's on screen
Strangely though, I thought Peter Quill's speech towards the end of the trailer wasn't quite 'peppy' enough for the trailer, although in context I bet it's fine.

I love Rocket Raccoon grabbing his raccoon bits.
And
Blue Swedes Hooked on a Feeling
Star Lord using a leg for a weapon
Anyone notice that Gamora has only one arm at 1:46? But she has rapid healing right?
Glenn Close as Nova Commander Rael - Fine.
Benicio del Toro as the Collector - I'm not too sure about.

I can't think of anything I haven't liked Benicio del Toro in, so I'm more than willing to give him a shot here.
This trailer has just confirmed how excited I am about this movie.

I'm not that familiar with the comics Gamora, but I don't think she has rapid healing. The onscreen text in the first trailer mentioned she had several cybernetic implants, so I'm guessing she lost her natural-looking cyberarm. I'd kinda think losing her real arm like that would make her pass out from blood loss.
I'm hoping she lost it in an amazing sword fight with a badass Nebula.

Gamora, for the curious.
Gamora received treatments from Thanos that enhanced her speed, strength, agility, and durability to rival Adam Warlock's (to better slay the Magus, his evil future self). Thanos also helped her become a formidable hand-to-hand combatant, trained in the martial arts techniques from various planets, in the uses of the known weaponry of the Milky Way Galaxy, and stealth techniques. She is also a highly skilled gymnast and assassin, and formerly possessed a telepathic link to Thanos. She uses a wide variety of weaponry, most notably a dagger whose unknown properties made it capable of slaying even beings of such godlike power as Thanos and the Magus.
In the pages of Infinity Watch, it is revealed that Gamora had been cybernetically enhanced to have superhuman strength, speed, and a rapid healing ability.[29] Gamora's strength and speed were further enhanced by Adam Warlock when they returned from Soulworld.[30]
Gamora is one of the most skilled martial artists in the Marvel Universe. She is capable of defeating opponents who possess superhuman strength and durability that far surpass her own, and she has defeated a military platoon containing dozens of combat-trained men in only a few minutes. She has learned to paralyze or kill opponents using vital point strikes directed at certain nerve clusters. Although skilled in the use of most conventional weapons, she prefers to use knives and swords.
While Gamora was with the Infinity Watch, she possessed the Infinity Gem called the "Time Gem". The gem was mentally linked to her, giving her the potential power to control time. She said that she did not know how to employ its powers and preferred not to use it. While she possessed the Time Gem, Gamora was prone to precognitive dreams and visions, though she had no conscious control over them.
EDIT: NOTE: bold mine
So it seems she does have rapid healing ability.
EDIT: This isn't to say that I entirely disagree with you in my hopes, Ambrosia, just that she does have some form of rapid healing. How much, I'm unsure.

For James Gunn, that's the kind of thing he does. If you ever see his low budget independent film The Specials (or even Super to some degree,) you'll see it there too. This way of taking "heroic monologues" and making them a little more... I'm going to say "human" as opposed to "superhuman."
He also has a thing for misfits to begin with. It's part of why he's perfect for this one.Cthulhudrew |

Yes- it looks like a close recreation of a scene during Abnett and Lannings GotG (issue #3 or 4, IIRC).
EDIT: Just to clarify- yes, Gamora does have a rapid healing ability, though it wasn't quite as much in show in Starlin's Infinity works (that I can recall) as it was in DnA's Guardians of the Galaxy series. Wherein it gets put to the test.
Her cybernetic enhancements were never really showcased all that much, outside of her origin story during the Infinity Watch series, but it seemed (IIRC) to mostly be cybernetic skeletal upgrades, post a very traumatic and near fatal encounter, as opposed to any external upgrades (such as an arm).
Of course, after her rebirth, none of those cybernetics were in place any longer, and all enhancements that were made to her, Adam Warlock, and Pip's bodies were completely due to the process Adam used to resurrect them all.

I can't think of anything I haven't liked Benicio del Toro in, so I'm more than willing to give him a shot here.
In real life
In the lobby by Rose Bar in New York seven years ago, rather a few sheets to the wind, when he was propositioning every woman he could.
Movies
The movie where he was a capo in a drug cartel staring Blake Lively.
And the movie he did with Alicia Silverstone.

I tend to not pay attention to what actors are doing in real life, unless it's A) so horrifyingly awful that I never want to see them again, or B) so wonderful that I'll pay to watch them act in absolute crap just because they're in it. Getting drunk and publicly propositioning women, while sleazy, isn't bad enough to fall into category A for me.
Assuming the films you're talking about are Savages and Excess Baggage (based on a quick search), I haven't seen either of them, but based on what I've heard of Savages from my friends I suspect I'm more likely than not going to enjoy it when I get around to watching it.

Fair enough.
I was trying to be sparse with the details.
What I remember from that night was he was being a bit loud and obnoxious in the propositioning, and particularly vulgar to boot. Name calling and catcalling and some more on the serious side that definitely crosses the line. He gave waitresses his room key card repeatedly despite them retuning it to him. Things of that nature. I give guests a lot of berth in what is acceptable, fame or no so for anyone to strike me as a prick really needs to be trying hard.
As a comparison example and on the opposite side of the coin, I have seen Mick Jagger always act like a gentleman over the course of fourteen years and in multiple locations and occasions has been gracious to fans and generous to the staff, and he normally leaves with a gaggle of 'women' a third his age.
Those were indeed the movies, both were rather meh and nothing you would bother seeing more than once, if that. Unless you like Smoking Aces, then you may like Savages. YMMV. But even then Excess Baggage does not even rise to that level.

LET'S DO THIS!
The AMC with huge reclining chairs and reserved seating would not be a bad option.
Monday Memorial Day or the week after?

I quite enjoyed Smoking Aces, yes.
I think it's a bit different when you're seeing them in person, as you seem to. I imagine very few of us get to see the real them. So like I said, for the most part I just ignore it all. And I agree that what you're describing is pretty bad... but it wouldn't be enough to make me not see a movie with him in it.
Interesting about Mick Jagger though, the public perception is very much the opposite I think.

Fair enough. I will definitely see the movie, I was just saying I am not the biggest Del Toro fan, more for his recent body of work than that episode.
As I said, I give people a lot of leeway in what is acceptable, for anyone to strike me as a retard you need to be working at it. I have a fairly forgiving threshold.
Acceptable behavior
Completely unacceptable/horrific/should never be done
Ok end of thread jack.

Can't tell if you're joking or not (stupid lousy plain text) so apologies if I'm telling you something you already knew:
Benicio del Toro - Actor playing the Collector in Guardians of the Galazy
Guillermo del Toro - Director of Pacific Rim, Pan's Labyrinth and so on.

I have a similar story about Robert Downy Jr. (well, it's a second hand story). When he was filming "US Marshalls", I had a friend that worked at a local restaurant he frequented (as in every night they were filming) and she described him as a roaring drunk and unbearably obnoxious. Of course, he was still battleing his on-going troubles back then and understand he's a much more pleasant person now.
