Our party encountered a creature that channeled negative energy. The setp up looks like This <--Links
Said creature is the large cat thing in the east room. My question is would the people in room D-E/10-11 also be harmed? Just wonder how the channel energy shapes itself.
Channeling energy causes a burst that affects all creatures of one type (either undead or living) in a 30-foot radius centered on the cleric.
A burst spell affects whatever it catches in its area, including creatures that you can't see. It can't affect creatures with total cover from its point of origin (in other words, its effects don't extend around corners). The default shape for a burst effect is a sphere, but some burst spells are specifically described as cone-shaped. A burst's area defines how far from the point of origin the spell's effect extends.
I would say that it does not.

So some of it would leak into the corridor assuming the door is open but those in room D-E/10-11 are quite safe. Imagine switching on a light where the channeler is - upon whom would it shine?
That's a reasonable way of looking at it.
Basically, check for total cover between the point of origin and the creature in question using the rules in Combat. If the creature has total cover, then channel energy does not affect it. If it does not have total cover, then (assuming range and all of the other requirements are met) channel energy affects it.
