Shishleek and chicken kebab over rice, with olive oil and plenty of sumac powder.

Barbequed pulled pork that my wife spent all yesterday making with fresh strawberries :-)

Oh no, most definitely not, they were on the side, as a parent I compulsively add a serving of fruits or vegetables with every meal.

I can see how my shoddy editing led to you thinking that, sorry didn't mean to scare you :-)

Kotlety with liberal amounts of seasoning. Hell yes.

Also tomato soup with rice earlier today.

Potatoes and cabbage or beetroots?

ground beef.

Oh and I had the same thing for lunch today since we had it left over.

Spicy country-fried baby Cthulhu (Seriously, that's what it looks like) with habanero ranch dipping sauce, red beans & rice, and biscuit.

I will never understand our country's love of the vile filth that is ranch dressing.

Salad of mixed lettuces, red cabbage, spinach, turkey, cheddar, grape tomatoes, carrots, green peas, corn kernels, cucumbers, broccoli florets and stalks, green apples, craisins, sunflower seeds, garbanzos, and french dressing. Whole wheat roll with butter. Raspberry iced tea/cranberry lemonade half and half.

For those outside the US/CA, french dressing here refers to a sweetish vinaigrette made with neutral oil and vinegar, tomatoes, and paprika as the primary components.

What, rancid fat with Southern seasonings? Of course everyone loves it as much as you and I hate it. Personally, the stuff makes me want to vomit, but whatever.

Here in Texas, when a waiter asks what kind of dressing I want on a salad, I always say "Italian," and 9 times out of 10 they nod and repeat, "ranch," and write that down -- because no one else ever orders any other kind. The one waiter in 10 who catches my actual request always does a double-take and then stares at me, as if I'm some sort of exotic life form.

Anyway, today's lunch was com thit nuong bi hot ga, rice with pork and a fried egg, at the Vietnamese place near the office. The waiter started at me in shock when I ordered, then grinned hugely and said, "Your pronunciation is VERY good!" -- which makes me happy, since I don't know any Vietnamese at all except for the names of foods, and maybe a swear word or two.

Cheeseburger and Baconator Fries.

The thing is, I like buttermilk and have no problems with the relevant herbs and spices.

There's just something about it that makes me ill. Then again the only mayo based dressing I like its thousand island.

Technically, I was only using the ranch dressing as a delivery system for the habanero spiciness. And it was takeout from a fast food chicken place, so next to nil other options.

I almost always prefer a freshly-made Caesar dressing (or in a pinch, from a bottle of Cardini's only) but then I almost always receive a look of mild revulsion and some comment like "Ewwww, anchovies."

I like nice vinaigrettes too, but every bottled/fast food variant is bad to vile.

Don't worry Freehold, I feel no need to judge you based on your lunch choices.

You're from NYC. There's nowhere to go but up. ;)

I don't know, judging from the pics and description on their website, your lunch looks pretty darn tasty. I would judge you as having excellent taste.

Cheap pre-baked pizza with chorizo sausage and corn.

I had a sriracha nacho burrito with some delicious queso.

I was too full to finish it, but it was delicious.

Lunch was a couple pieces of bacon wrapped in a slice of bread, a scoop of olive hummus with carrot & celery sticks, and a glass of orange juice.

Dinner will be garlicky pot roast.

And lunch today was leftover pot roast, lettuce, & tomato sandwich, with about a dozen potato chips and a glass of (Luzianne) iced tea.

What is luzianne ice tea?

Lunch was fried channel cat*, hush puppies, corn on the cob, green beans with new potatoes and bacon, with iced tea and lemon squares.

* As in fish.

Brunch was a poached egg, a microwave burrito, and a second cup of coffee.

I just had some delicious fried eggs.

I know my way around eggs and can make the best fried ones or poached ones.

Peanut Butter Sandwich and 2 1oz bags of doritos

Cheap pizza bought at TESCO. Of course I failed to notice that oven is switched to heat from below instead of heat from above and below so I ended with pizza that is hot from underneath and cold from above.

Second round of heating proceeds.

Just don't visit Trøndelag, where (according to a friend of mine who lives in Trondheim) they put bernaise sauce on pizza.

And not proper bernaise but cheap goopy pseudo-bernaise stuff.

Second half of the pizza is in oven.

Breakfast will be black tea with white milk, and peanut butter and jelly on a raisin bagel.

I'm on my second cup of coffee and finished off a pair of Swiss rolls.

Pizza.

Real brooklyn pizza.

Friday and yesterday I had satay chicken.

Today I had Limey's Special Stew, an omelette and a cheese and Polish sausage sandwich, but not all at once.

...wasn't enough. Just made some fried rice. Hope that holds me til dinner (porkchops with the parents).

Bought myself a few pieces of battered meats while at nearby Carrefour mall: a piece of fish, a piece of pork (I think), and a piece of chicken. One batter was smooth, the two others were covered in crumbs.

I'm satiated but i keep wanting to eat.

It's probably because I'm really distressed.

Lunch was a McD's new buttermilk crispy chicken sandwich with free fries and free Dr. Pepper. The sandwich was good and I could taste the buttermilk tang in the batter, but it was a little bland.

Late brunch/almost lunch was half an everything bagel w/ onion & chives cream cheese, two fried chicken wings, and two cups of coffee.

Tomato soup.

The Exchange

Leftovers!!

Peanut butter and jelly on raisin bread with gouda cheese and seltzer.

The Exchange

Gouda cheese and Seltzer. Always knew you were a braver man than I.
