I wonder if disney will do the KoTOR thing since Lucas won't be trying so damn hard to keep the Force from being so blatantly black and white.

Well they've already announced Episode 7. The movie Lucus said would never be made in a million years. also it's meant to be set many years after Return of the Jedi so there should be many Jedi about, which makes me wonder if the Sith will return too or something else.

They might do some Kotor stuff, but it also depends with EA since EA have partnered with Bioware for the old republic game and that's set after Kotor and has MANY references to it, even having a Twi'lek female who is your slave if you are a sith warrior, voiced by the person who did Mission Veo's voice.

Disney might do some really cool things with the Star Wars Franchise. I'm hoping for a kingdom hearts game where one of the worlds they head to is a planet in the star wars universe during Kotor period since it's more fun to fight on a large number of sith.

One fear was that they might make crap like "Disney Star Wars Princesses", but they also own Marvel and havn't done that with the super heroines.

I'd say that the Force itself is neutral since both the Sith and jedi tap into it, though I ended up having a discussion with a friend of mine yesterday where she said how both are evil, but atleast the Sith admit they're evil and don't hide behind a veil of goodness.

Male Orc Expert 5

She may have a point. But by that logic you can also determine how they're both good. I'd say in D&D terms how they're essentially Lawfuland Chaotic but neither good nor evil.

I loved KotOR. It still ranks among my favorite RPG's. I remember when I was learning how to play 3.5, it suddenly clicked and I told my buddy: "Holy $h!t! This is friggin' KotOR, isn't it!?"

I hate that they made the last one an MMO. Never been a fan of the pay to play scene, I sold my 360 because of that (well, that and the red ring of death would come up every now and again so I had to sell it to the game store before it lost it's resale value).

I guess I'm most disappointed that Disney snatched it up because I've always wanted to see lightsaber fights that were basically flashing lights and flying limbs, then again I'm an American. We likes our graphic violence and we likes it good! *cracks open a beer and spits into a gatorade bottle*

Master of Gaming and Grognardia Current map

Hard to have people killing each-other in bloody battles in star wars with lightsabers since:

1. the lightsaber, being a beam of emergy, automatically cauterizes the wound whilst it makes it.

2. Not even the Sith would be as barbarian as tearing people apart like animals. It's more a subtle kill effect like Vader's force choke, however lightning also gives the same effect.

Howver, best way to get violence would be if they showed what happened to a jedi that tangled with a Deshade or Terentatek which both feed on force-users. The former you can get as a companion if you are a Sith Inquisitor in the MMO.

My 360 was giving me trouble at one point, but then agian I barely used it anyway until I bought my new one. The new model that comes with a inbuilt hard drive, which it should've always had imo.

I had to get rid of my PS3 at one point because it kept suffering from YLOD and ended up throwing it away when it broke for a second time as they often say there's no point in fixing it as it'll most likely happpen again and I didn't feel like forking out for it again, but I did manage to safe the data onto the PS3+ member's online storage when moving it to a new PS3.

Male Human Bard 4

Sorry about the shifty postings, my semester has finally ended and I have some time on my hands. What can Bron do to get things up to speed?

Female Changling(Hulking) Sorcerer - Orc Bloodline/5 - HP: 12/28; AC16,T14,FF13

Post - announce something that we should do. Or, I can just post a few more months if nobody cares. You can RETCON to the wedding if you feel so inclined. Your call.

Male Human Wizard 4 (hp: 33/33 AC: 13, FF: 12, T:12)

I am good with role-playing interactions with other characters, but I am not clear where to even start when it comes to posting for an entire month. I am still here, but I am feeling a little lost at the moment.

Master of Gaming and Grognardia Current map

You don't HAVE to post for the entire month. If you have something to say in the month we can do it retroactively.

I know some of you might ask about if there's a bun in the oven *wink, wink* and some of you might wish to say that as of a certain month, your character would like to get to know the people more, or go to the local drinking areas and drink yourself into a stuper or even put on a performance for your people to try and improve everyone's attitude as well as performing just for the hell of it.

With Carina's case concerning the Bun, as you're the player then you can make the choice of when, but you won't be moving out for sometime. I'm waiting till you've claimed Oleg's and the temple of the Elk as I'm sure you'll be ready to proceed after that.

Anyone have a map of the are, including roads so we have a good idea what the kingdom looks like so far?

Truth. I'm just waiting for the juicy bits to start coming in again. Ganit is pouring through the country's seedy areas or drinking himself numb or both simultaneously. A few weeks/months can disappear pretty quickly during a self-destructive binge. Exploring South should be a good change of pace for him though.

Male Human Wizard 4 (hp: 33/33 AC: 13, FF: 12, T:12)

I will be away as well.

Master of Gaming and Grognardia Current map

Several months in one go can be difficult as you don't know what events might happen between them which can efffect your priorities or what you'd like to do.

Male Human Bard 4

Yeah that may affect a lot our outcome. I'd like to roll a month or two, if it's OK to everyone.

Male Human Bard 4

So fellas, I've been reading up Alex's Kingmaker game and decided to try and take a firmer approach to things.

As I do not have much experience on boards, I've been really really hesitant to assume a leader position OC. I have trouble gauging other player's reactions, so I fear to come out as bossy and forceful. But I feel we've been getting a little out of focus lately; Carina has been trying hard to keep things going forward in the game and I mean to help her and take the reins on this.

If you guys ever think I'm getting too drunk with power (or if I've hurt your feelings in any way), please let me know.

Oh this is so going to backfire on you.

Male Human Bard 4

Why?

edit: I mean, do you think it's a bad idea or have anything to do against it?

Oh you can do whatever you like.

Telias will, however, be Telias.

Male Human Bard 4

I meant all that mostly in an OOC way. Telias will be Telias, I fully expect that.

Bronwyn fully realizes he's surrounded by a lot of people that are smarter than he is. He doesn't simply take a decision by himself - he consults everyone for their opinion and works a way to keep everyone satisfied and the barony growing.

Male Human Bard 4

On another OOC note, is Carina taking any *ahem* protections? If not it makes some sense that she would be carrying their child. I know Bronwyn would be extremely happy in being a father.

Heh - been really busy in RL the last few days. Will try to get something up this weekend.

Female Changling(Hulking) Sorcerer - Orc Bloodline/5 - HP: 12/28; AC16,T14,FF13

Here is what I have for current maps. I am posting the link to the folder as I do not know how to upload/change the maps without posting new links each time when I update it.

Kingmaker Files

Currently the Month 6 maps are the most current. I think that I have a road in the most recent hex that does not belong there but was too lazy to fix it and figure we will build the road eventually.

Also, if someone has a better method of showing the claimed hexes/farms/roads, please let me know. I just dropped in a silly farm picture as I could not find something better. I can also make the claimed hex circles a different color, say green or reddish or something to indicate when a hex has been farmed. Let me know what you all think would be easiest.

Also, if someone knows how to make actual hexes rather than circles, I would like to do that. Unfortunately MapTools does not seem to have default hex shapes, just squares - strange since it has the hex grid.

_____________
Also, right now this folder is shared to anyone with the link. I would prefer to limit it to just the people in the campaign. If you all could PM me your email, I will add it and then change the security on the folder.

Female Changling(Hulking) Sorcerer - Orc Bloodline/5 - HP: 12/28; AC16,T14,FF13

Ok all, we are at month 6 and doing pretty well. Do we want to continue to build smaller buildings - Shop, Stable, etc. Or save up for a few months and get something bigger - Market (48BP), Guildhall (34), Arena(40), or something else big that will give us huge reductions in the cost of other buildings. I would love the Waterfront (90BP), but I think that waiting 8 months to get enough BP might be pushing it.

Arena gives us 1/2 price on Garrison (which is then 1/2 on City Wall, Granary, Jail) and 1/2 price on a Theatre (which is then 1/2 on Brothel, Park, Tavern). Also halves consumption penalty for festival edicts.

Guildhall --> 1/2 on Pier, Tradesman, Stables

Market --> 1/2 on Black Market, Inn, Shop

Master of Gaming and Grognardia Current map

the other bonus of some of those thngs is that they can produce random magic items that either you sell with a Econemy roll or save if you wish to buy for yourself later. That's something important as there is always the chance to roll a powerful minor wonderous item that'll add to your treasury.

Male Human Bard 4

I was struggling with those ideas myself, Carina ;)

I figure we could claim Oleg's hex and the Temple before getting a big building. IIRC we can use Oleg's as a Stable (which is really useful) and could rebuild the Temple at half-price (and it provides some minor items that can help boost our economy).

Of the buildings you suggested I think the Market is the most appropriate (even if it doesn't provide the best reductions).

Female Changling(Hulking) Sorcerer - Orc Bloodline/5 - HP: 12/28; AC16,T14,FF13

Also, do we have the bonus to econ for 4 road hexes?

My vote is to advance north to Oleg's. Start a second town there with a Stable. And then hold off on more expansion other than Grassland/Farms/Roads until we have enough for the Market. I don't see us getting enough for the Waterfront. After the Market, we build the Inn and Shop followed by the Garrison and some military stuff for James to play with.

Master of Gaming and Grognardia Current map

I am not sure about the road bonus, but I assume so. The excel file would be programed to add the bonus. Currently the bonuses are:

Eco: 36

Loyalty: 19

Stability :23

this is before the event resolution that I havn't checked yet.

As I said, minor items are good to boost BP and getting items you may not find online.

Female Changling(Hulking) Sorcerer - Orc Bloodline/5 - HP: 12/28; AC16,T14,FF13

If you are using the spreadsheet that someone posted earlier, then it seems to add to the "Resources" economy section for every 4 roads.

Is the spreadsheet online somewhere? I can host it on my Google site so that it is together with my maps if that is easier. I should be able to give whoever is editing it easy access to make changes as well.

hmm elves are too stringy. Though more meat on gnomes, however they're quite bite-size.

We used to call gnomes and halflings appetizers in the Worldwound.

I can take over again after that if you want. Are we planning on slowing down buildings in Evergreen so that we can get a Market in 4 months or so? Also, are we going to start a second town at Oleg's?

Male Human Bard 4

Aron, the sheet I'm using shows +24 Stability. Here's the math:

Stability Bonuses:
+7 Buildings (Brewery +1, Castle +2, Mill +1, Smith +1, Tannery +1, Town Hall +1)
+1 Edicts (Promotion Token)
+12 Leadership (Jameson +4, Alicia +4, Jhod +4)
+1 Resources (the Sycamore Cave bonus)
+2 Alignment (Neutral)
+1 Other (Favourable location of the capital)
=
+24 Total

Is that correct? Did I add any unappropriate bonus?

Male Human Bard 4

Responding to Carina: I can keep updating, it's not a problem. I waited a bit to let the whole Zorestar/Alicia/Varn situation unfold, but I guess I can keep posting the months OOC while the drama unfolds IC.

I agree with both your suggestions. I was reticent because I thought you meant to stop all expansion (hex claiming, etc) and I really feel its important that we keep a steady pace (since the more hexes we get the more we get to do in a turn) of expansion.

Male Human Bard 4

What city should we build the market? Oleg seems good enough for encouraging trade with Brevoy and maybe keeping our capital cleaner. But then bringing the market down south would keep Evergreen as our main trading hub and heart of the kingdom. What you guys think?

Male Human Wizard 4 (hp: 33/33 AC: 13, FF: 12, T:12)

I would probably put the market in our capital city of Evergreen and maybe encourage Oleg to relocate in the city.

Master of Gaming and Grognardia Current map

It was the cave, that's the only issue. I pointed out that it was more of a landmark than a cave, but if you wish it could be hollowed out a bit more since, if you remember, the mite cave was developed only for their size and you all had to be squeezed into it.

Male Human Bard 4

Did the Sootscale Chief accept our proposal to change his tribe's lair from the mines to the warrens below the Sycamore? It seems like a larger complex, easily expandable.

Master of Gaming and Grognardia Current map

He'd actually like for his people to be intergrated with the society. They are slightly for the moment and he feels that he should not run them as a tribe, but be the head of their race, including helping to deal with any issues personally. The Kobolds respect and woreship him more now he has become more powerful by joining you, donning himself in fine silks and often seen with two females following him closely. He and his tribe have earned much from siding with you as he knew they all would. Of course...they breed like rabbits.

Male Human Bard 4

How does he propose we achieve that? I suggested the caves because I thought they'd rather live underground due to their light sensitivity.

Male Human Bard 4

For some reason the sheet is counting the Graveyard is only a +1 Loyalty bonus. Is that a bug or has there been any errata on the matter?

Male Human Bard 4

Just to let you guys know I won't have classes today and will spend most of the afternoon in the PC (when I manage to escape Assassin's Creed III). If anyone wants to have a conversation with Bronwyn (or if Aron is free and wants to get these kingdom turns done) just hit me up!

lol I havn't gotten AC3 yet. Heard it's a little dissappointing, but that won't stop me. I'm the kinda guy that when I start a story I must finish it, no matter how bad it gets. however in view of the Exiles comics, I might change that since I have heard that the ones I collected were the good ones and it goes downhill from there.

Concerning the graveyard giving +1 Loyalty only I draw all to this:

Klebert L. Hall wrote:

Somewhere in the Kingdom Building thread, there's official errata on some of the buildings, to the effect of:

Barracks (6 BP): Defense Modifier +2; Unrest –1.
Exotic Craftsman (10 BP): 1 minor item, +1 Economy, +1 Stability.
Graveyard (4 BP): +1 loyalty
Watchtower (12 BP): +1 Stability; +2 Defense Modifier; Unrest –1.

I don't have time to sift through those 700 posts this morning, or I'd give you a link.
-Kle.

I knew there was an Errata, but for the life of me I had no idea where it was. I just hoped you hadn't built any of thsoe buildings by that time. Anways, as he said above, those are the changes to certain buildings and the excel sheet is aware of this I believe.
