I agree but didn't know which campaign it was. I was hoping the Shackels game. As it is not thanks but good luck.

So while I spend some time getting my head straight after my fiances emergency apendix surgery I suggest the rest of the alkenstar crew pop over to recruitment and give me an opinion on thsi guy who seems to want to join.
I'll get nobles going tommorrow. Rebels need to give me something to do. Siera neesd to post in harpies.
And I need some rum with this coke.

^ Our grandchildren will finish book 4 for us.
The Knot has those tricky spots like the stairs if people don't twig onto the whole mirror deal plus that little piece of paper. Plus the time limit on the party unless they can think of a way to keep the debauchery going. I think it is one of the AP's chokepoints(much like the play) where if you can't get through the first go you are going to have a very hard time continuing on.
I did read in the obits where a party TPK'd during the play due to poor rolls(not privy to the exact tactics.) There were no details if the group continued but I would seriously consider a handwave to get the next group to The Knot rather than try to do a break-in.

^ CoT could be trimmed of one particular module. More civic duties like helping the Bellflower network get halflings out would be nice since the original premise is civies doing what the nobles won't.
I agree honestly. I've been contemplating how to handle it because while that portion of the ap does not necessarily advance the plot it can't really be ignored since it gives you an idea why the next two books are the way they are.

So they're making something of a sequel to the LEgacy of Kain games. A magnificent series of brawler/puzzle/rpg games with a rather good story involving time shenanigans vampires and amazing voice acting that was left in a cliffhanger in the last game.
Will be amde into a free to play massive multiplayer online team shooter that s+&$s on the lore and is missing its key characters.
It's enough to make me rip off the wings of my right hand man and cast him into the lake of the dead to burn in torment for all eternity.

Should work - if you just twist and bend RAW. Blistering Invective (the spell) is language dependent, but is not labelled a mind-affecting effect.
The flavor supports as well: You unleash an insulting tirade so vicious and spiteful that enemies who hear it are physically scorched by your fury. - and I thought that since ghouls are an intelligent sort of undead, they'd be subject?
Reaching much? - yes.... yes I am :P
TarkXT |
Buuuttt the spell relies on you to well, intimidate the undead, whp are immune to fear. Not a good day to be making this kind of ruling. I'm almost tempted to say f~$~ it and let it pass under the footnote I can change my mind later. It's not been a good day. It started with a trip to a charity place to suffer that ultimate of humiliations for a full time working male in this country and ended with applying an enema to another person at 2 in the morning.
No it's not been a good day.

Sounds like you need to fire up STALKER and teabag some more bloodsuckers? - sh1tty days are sh1tty - I've been there often.
I'd agree that RAI it doesn't make sense - and feel free to have Cal's attempt go down in non-existent flames (he rolled pants on the Intimidate anyway :P).

Where do we stand vis a vis "City Astride the Storm?" It seems we only have two of us now. Should we post a new recruitment thread to try to gin up more excitement?
I don't want the lag to go on so long that I forget the excitement I initially had for the character.
I was surprised that more people didn't send in apps for the adventure. Perhaps another recruitment thread would change that.

If there is something the meat shield can do for you Caldazar let me know. I understand though about losing people. It makes it hardt o find new connections when you have an idea of where you want a character to go and how.
TarkXT |
I can understand . I think it might be time for Caldazar to focus on some other aspects of his character. I had something lined up for him anyway as soon as this dungeon is over and some downtime is had.
Needless to say CAldazar's peers might not be so happy he partook in the play.
Unfortunately I think I'll just have to bot our stricken friend in the meantime. He sometimes does this and was never a particularly prolific poster but reliable at least.
Though I do have a fair question for everyone in the CoT games.
The dungeon itself is a rather neat place to discover much about the actual conspiracy in the city as well as a good look at how the previous lord mayor's of westcrown were. Aberian is likely the best you've had. I'm reluctant to skip much of it simply because several of the encounters here are chances.
However I did set a deadlne on this place for like july or august I dont even remember anymore and now it's the start of october.
So, do you guys want me to skip all but the absolute most essential encounters?
Trevor Culexis |
Considering just how much of a maze this place is, whacking out anything that is there just for the added xp sounds reasonable. I don't know if you use event based xp(Level when you reach this spot and this spot, when you find that Mcguffin) or by combat/puzzle solving.
As for the conspiracy? I found the info kinda thin in coming in this area in my other game. We know they are nasty pieces of work. People still pretty much know zip about why Shadowbeasts are running around(Only book 2!)
KNowing about the past mayors? I think most PC are just relieved they are no longer amongst the living.
Essential encounters sounds like a good idea. Perhaps have 1 rest period before we hit the final area.
Tal Bernard Mainz |
Perhaps a recap or description of the encounters so we know what we could have slogged through but then move onto the bigger more important aspects. Then again if people could post daily the combats will go quicker so we wouldn't need to skip them. If Tal could hit both with a cleave for a change it would speed things up as well.

I actually wanted a glaive but you all told me no. *Goes off and pouts in the corner*

Hey aren't you paralyzed right now? Keep mocking the meat shield and see where it gets you. I can hit you more often then you can heal yourself.
Tal Bernard Mainz |
So what is the thought about Pollux? Continue with him being GMPC'd until a replacement is found? A dungeon like this I would hate to go though with only 3 even If we are skipping parts of it.
