Spiritual Weapon Wand

Rules Questions

When creating a spiritual weapon wand, the base caster level is 3. The duration of the spell is 3 rounds. The spell doesn't have a DC, but it does use "your base attack bonus (possibly allowing it multiple attacks per round in subsequent rounds) plus your Wisdom modifier as its attack bonus". Does this use the same Wisdom modifier as a wand would use for DCs (+2) or the wisdom bonus of whoever activates the wand? Is the base attack bonus tied to the person wielding the wand?

Good question. I would say that the wand uses the minimum Wisdom bonus needed to construct the wand (i.e. 13 Wis = +1 bonus) and the wand user's BAB.

Well wands use the caster level set by the creator for determining the amount of damage a spell would deal, so it makes sense it would use the BAB established in the crafting as well.

A wand of spiritual weapon should use the wand-user's base attack bonus plus Wisdom modifier to resolve attacks, since it's the wand wielder and not the creator that's making the attacks. The bonus to damage, though, is set by the wand's caster level.

Bleh, I was hoping I could use my current BAB and current Wisdom modifier on attack rolls. That would help the wand scale through levels. Yes, it would only be 1d8 + 1 damage for 3 rounds with CL 3 vs SR, but at least the chance to deal damage would increase throughout levels.

Oh well. . .

Edit: hooray thanks James!

and the fluff? is the form of the weapon the user's or the maker's deity/generic belief?

I don't know how you guys do it but we house-ruled that the stats/DC for Wands, Potions, and Scrolls are of the creator; this differentiates player-crafted items from random treasure.
