Cad optimization?

Advice

Hey, considering rolling a Cad for my next game, and I was wondering if anyone would like to give their two cents regarding optimization for the class.

I am not opposed to multiclassing as long as its not into a Monk or a Magus.

Many thanks,

Optimization for what? I mean, what kind of combat style you are looking for.

Dirty Tricks, of course! Do what the Cad does. Not sure about using improvised weapons, is that any good in the end, besides for the purpose of overcoming DR?

I was also wondering if Dirty Trick was viable late game as well.

Half-orc skulking slayer rogue 3 (for Underhanded Maneuvers and Bold Strike) has some good synergy with the cad's Dirty Maneuvers and (at 7th level) Deadly Surprise. Especially if you invest in Combat Expertise/Improved Dirty Trick/Greater Dirty Trick and Improved Initiative with the Surprise Attack rogue talent: use Underhanded Maneuvers in the surprise round to make a dirty trick (blinded) maneuver (with lots of bonuses); if successful (good chance against many opponents most of the game), it lasts 1d4 rounds + 1 round for every 5 points you exceed the opponent's CMD and they have to use a standard action (no attacks that round) to end it early; when blinded, every attack is a sneak attack (+2d8 with Bold Strike and a two-handed weapon; unless the foe has blindsense) and you can make an immediate dirty trick maneuver (with Deadly Surprise) to apply other conditions (each of which requires a separate standard action to end early).

Maneuvers lag a bit past 15th level (as many high-level foes have very high CMDs). However, a Str-based character with +19 BAB and some boosts (like enlarge or other buffs increasing size/Str), on top of the bonuses from Dirty Maneuvers, can have a reasonable chance of success.

The only good ability is deadly surprise. Now, deadly surprise is a great ability but most of the others are not (specially payback. Payback is very bad).

I reccomend a lorewarden. The bonus to CMB is just better, and you have combat expertise for free and weapon training probably add to the dristry trick CMB too.

There is also this one

If you do not mind playing an orc or convince your DM to allow it for other races.

Say I bite and go Lore Warden, what weapons should I use?

Also, the Dirty Fighter sounds okay, but provoking AoO after Dirty Trick is something you remove as soon as you get Imp. Dirty Trick, so that seems wasted. Plus, you lose a ton of weapon feats to actually kill enemies.

As for Enlarge, I am 100% against it because I play Small characters only and I like them to remain small.

I do not think there are special weaposn for dirty tricks. Note that with lorewarden you can focus in several maneuvers. Against medium enemies, With a reach weapon you can dirty trick, disarm, trip with no AoO without the maneuver feats.
