Male Gnome Bard/4 -- HP: 34/35; AC18, T14, FF15; F+4,R+7,W+6; Per +8; Init +2

Sorry, I am sort of clueless as to what is going on. It has been several months since this encounter started and so far we have done not much more than look into the room to discover that it is filled with a ton of bad guys.

I want this campaign to be a success, but at this point I am really having trouble remember what has happened because of the inconsistent pace of the game.

Male Gnome Bard/4 -- HP: 34/35; AC18, T14, FF15; F+4,R+7,W+6; Per +8; Init +2

Drakra looks over at Godwin:
Any ideas? A fair maiden sorceress casting a spell . . . that misses. I cannot harm with the spells, but can make it look like a spell was cast. Perhaps one of those balls of flame, or a ray of fire or something. Another option might be a ragged band of survivors coming up behind them. I am sure many of the evil creatures would see than and jump to attack and kill them.

Male Gnome Bard/4 -- HP: 34/35; AC18, T14, FF15; F+4,R+7,W+6; Per +8; Init +2

Drakra looks at his companions.
Perhaps I could help to distract them. I think I have figured a way to make sparkly dust fly around and it should get into some of their eyes, blinding them. Also, I have figured a way to make my illusions a little more believable. I think that I could get one to even make noise, like marching feet or the shriek of an attacking creature.

Drakra has Minor Image and Glitterdust. Only 2 2nd level spell slots though. He can maintain Minor Image as a move action though, so he does not just have to stand and concentrate like most illusionists.

Male Gnome Bard/4 -- HP: 34/35; AC18, T14, FF15; F+4,R+7,W+6; Per +8; Init +2

I am not really the strongest at the full frontal assault angle. Drakra will happily use his Inspire Courage, and any other relevant spells, but on the actual attack side, other than Aid Another, he is not much use.

Male Gnome Bard/4 -- HP: 34/35; AC18, T14, FF15; F+4,R+7,W+6; Per +8; Init +2

Drakra follows the others away from the battle, glad that he again managed to avoid getting hurt, or even involved in any activities that might have risked his hide.

Male Gnome Bard/4 -- HP: 34/35; AC18, T14, FF15; F+4,R+7,W+6; Per +8; Init +2

Is anyone else having trouble with the "new posts" showing up? Suddenly yesterday, it stopped for all my campaigns.

GM Shathira, one thing that has fixed similar problems in the past is for the GM to manually change the player to inactive, and the switch the player back to active. Mind you, this was several years ago that I last had this issue.

Male Gnome Bard/4 -- HP: 34/35; AC18, T14, FF15; F+4,R+7,W+6; Per +8; Init +2

Drakra really does not have much of use in this scenario. He can drop Glitterdust a few times, but that is about it. He can also create illusions to distract the bad guys, not sure if that would work, but a pegasus with a knight on its back would probably draw a lot of arrows away from us.

Male Gnome Bard/4 -- HP: 34/35; AC18, T14, FF15; F+4,R+7,W+6; Per +8; Init +2

What we have here is the perfect setup for a few castings of Summon Swarm or Vomit Swarm or Rain of Frogs, or some similar swarm creating spell. Is there anything better for massed troops. Unfortunately none of us have Summon Swarm. Any chance we could level or somehow get access to a Spell Page with the spell?

Male Gnome Bard/4 -- HP: 34/35; AC18, T14, FF15; F+4,R+7,W+6; Per +8; Init +2

Drakra cries out in pain:
Bad people here.

Standard: Begin Inspire Courage

Drakra begins his performance by calling out to the minotaur to find out how ugly his mother must have been when even a bull would not mount her.

Male Gnome Bard/4 -- HP: 34/35; AC18, T14, FF15; F+4,R+7,W+6; Per +8; Init +2

Drakra looks at his taller companions:
Suppose you want me to wander around in this demon infested place to see if I don't get killed.

It is clear that Drakra does not consider this to be a good idea.

After some coaxing, Drakra will scout ahead.

Stealth: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19

Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16

Time for Drakra to get squished.

Male Gnome Bard/4 -- HP: 34/35; AC18, T14, FF15; F+4,R+7,W+6; Per +8; Init +2

Hearing the flies fall, Drakna stops his performance, but continues to toss insults at the demons nonetheless.

Stop Inspire Courage - Lingering Performance continues benefits for 2 rounds.

Action - delay

Male Gnome Bard/4 -- HP: 34/35; AC18, T14, FF15; F+4,R+7,W+6; Per +8; Init +2

Not sure where the eagle was summoned, or if Fomiel could see behind the flies, but the range on summon monster is short, which would be 35' at this level. If he can see past the flies, then he could have summoned the eagle above or behind the flies.

Male Gnome Bard/4 -- HP: 34/35; AC18, T14, FF15; F+4,R+7,W+6; Per +8; Init +2

Hearing the combat begin, Drakra does his best to make himself as small as possible, hiding amongst his larger companions. As he does so, he begins to crack jokes about the enemies.

Hard to believe these demon bugs are so ugly that the bigger demons invented fly swatters to eliminate them.

Begin Inspire Courage - +1 on lots of stuff.

Male Gnome Bard/4 -- HP: 34/35; AC18, T14, FF15; F+4,R+7,W+6; Per +8; Init +2

Waiting on Fly2, then Drakra will start an inspire courage.

Male Gnome Bard/4 -- HP: 34/35; AC18, T14, FF15; F+4,R+7,W+6; Per +8; Init +2

I am here, and that works. Drakra will happily let anyone, even a disabled child, go before him.

Male Gnome Bard/4 -- HP: 34/35; AC18, T14, FF15; F+4,R+7,W+6; Per +8; Init +2

Drakra looks to the others:
They can make darkness. Spit acid. Bites make disease. Magic and cold iron are best against these demon flies.

Male Gnome Bard/4 -- HP: 34/35; AC18, T14, FF15; F+4,R+7,W+6; Per +8; Init +2

Drakra looks behind him, holding the bile that springs up from his stomach. I didn't even eat anything for breakfast. He turns to Godwin behind him and quietly mouthes.
Demons. Buglike with human faces, revolting.

Knowledge(planes): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28

Bluff(to send message quietly if possible): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15

Male Gnome Bard/4 -- HP: 34/35; AC18, T14, FF15; F+4,R+7,W+6; Per +8; Init +2

Drakra would have grumbled about it, but would have done the scouting. Not sure if we can retcon since Godwin rolled.

Male Gnome Bard/4 -- HP: 34/35; AC18, T14, FF15; F+4,R+7,W+6; Per +8; Init +2

I'm still here. Just not posting as much as RL has picked up.

Drakra does not have disable device, not really a bard skill. He could easily grab a level of rogue or spend a feat on Additional Traits and grab the feat that gives trap finding, but that does not really help right now.

Male Gnome Bard/4 -- HP: 34/35; AC18, T14, FF15; F+4,R+7,W+6; Per +8; Init +2

Drakra moves over and checks on Fomiel to see if he is ok. While he is checking, he will sneakily cast CLW. <-- wouldn't want everyone to know he can do it, then everyone will want the bard to be healing them.

Cast CLW: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

Male Gnome Bard/4 -- HP: 34/35; AC18, T14, FF15; F+4,R+7,W+6; Per +8; Init +2

Taking a deep breath and hoping that he does not end up hitting one of his own companions, Drakra again attempts to load a bolt into his bow, firing at the summoned creature.

Attack-crossbow: 1d20 + 5 - 4 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 5 - 4 + 1 = 17
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

The shot is fairly accurate, much to Drakra's surprise, but it is hard to determine whether it got through the creatures defenses.

Male Gnome Bard/4 -- HP: 34/35; AC18, T14, FF15; F+4,R+7,W+6; Per +8; Init +2

Drakra suddenly recalls a book he acquired somewhere:
Cold iron weapons, or those blessed with good will be effective. These things are Vermeleks, demonic worms. They will shrug off most other weapons.

Male Gnome Bard/4 -- HP: 34/35; AC18, T14, FF15; F+4,R+7,W+6; Per +8; Init +2

Will: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15

Drakra suddenly feels the cold burn of the unholy magic and cringes.

Hearing Godwin, Drakra tries to reach back in his head to determine what these demons might be and how to best defeat them.

Knowledge(planes): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22

Not liking the pain, he casts a quick spell, causing some of his wounds to heal.

Cast CLW: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

Male Gnome Bard/4 -- HP: 34/35; AC18, T14, FF15; F+4,R+7,W+6; Per +8; Init +2

Congrats. Got two who play PF with me, taken them to several Cons.

Male Gnome Bard/4 -- HP: 34/35; AC18, T14, FF15; F+4,R+7,W+6; Per +8; Init +2

Knowledge(local): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Knowledge(local): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20

Drakra scratches his head.
Not sure about the one on the left, but the one on the right appears to be Lord Hulrun. He has put on a lot of weight.

----
Attack-crossbow: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 6

Drakra carefully drops a bolt into the cocked crossbow and then pulls the release before the bolt is fully in, causing it to fly straight up flipping over and over before landing harmlessly on the ground about 5 feet from where Drakra is standing.

Male Gnome Bard/4 -- HP: 34/35; AC18, T14, FF15; F+4,R+7,W+6; Per +8; Init +2

Drake's mouth stands agape at the value of what is being offered.
Um. Sure. Yup.

He realizes that the others are speaking of him.
I . . . I can use the bolts. And should be able . . I mean . . . Yeh, I can definitely use those. I can also use the wands, although Fomiel would probably be better with them.

Male Gnome Bard/4 -- HP: 34/35; AC18, T14, FF15; F+4,R+7,W+6; Per +8; Init +2

I will try to get caught up tomorrow. Was at a con last weekend, and RL has picked up.

Male Gnome Bard/4 -- HP: 34/35; AC18, T14, FF15; F+4,R+7,W+6; Per +8; Init +2

HP: 1d8 ⇒ 5

Will work on leveling, might take a day or two.

Male Gnome Bard/4 -- HP: 34/35; AC18, T14, FF15; F+4,R+7,W+6; Per +8; Init +2

Drakra looks about, unsure whether he should be gloating over the apparent compliments, or turning tail and fleeing at the thought that his newfound companions would actually contemplate going after these evil doers. After all, they are demons, not men. Gnomes don't fight demons.

Male Gnome Bard/4 -- HP: 34/35; AC18, T14, FF15; F+4,R+7,W+6; Per +8; Init +2

Drakra looks out toward the east longingly. He opens his mouth several times as though he is considering offering a different plan, one that would get him and his colorful clothes the heck out of Kenabres.

Finally, he, without a lot of self certainty, looks to the others.
How would we destroy a wardstone? What can we do? We are few. We are not arch mages. We are not shiny paladins. How do we fight these demonic monstrosities, let alone this witch Areelu?

Male Gnome Bard/4 -- HP: 34/35; AC18, T14, FF15; F+4,R+7,W+6; Per +8; Init +2

Drakra could use a mithril shirt. Improves AC by 2, and will not slow him down.

Male Gnome Bard/4 -- HP: 34/35; AC18, T14, FF15; F+4,R+7,W+6; Per +8; Init +2

Thanks. Drakra likes the cloak. Unfortunately, the bad guy really had bad taste in outfits. The demonic red fringe and black cloak is not Drake's style. He is looking for something more of a tie-dyed bright cloak, with lots of hot pink, orange, yellow and electric blue. He figures that will help to set off his red hair and green eyes.

For the time being he will take it until something more fashionably appropriate shows up.

--> Cloak added to equipment

Male Gnome Bard/4 -- HP: 34/35; AC18, T14, FF15; F+4,R+7,W+6; Per +8; Init +2

I think that your math is off, or else one of the 2000 should be a 200. I think it adds to 6078, which would be 1519 each.

Drakra will purchase a mithril shirt. Not sure what else at this point, perhaps masterwork thieves tools if Drakra is expected to open locks and get rid of traps.

Male Gnome Bard/4 -- HP: 34/35; AC18, T14, FF15; F+4,R+7,W+6; Per +8; Init +2

I like keeping the wand of bless. It is only 270gp, but the attack bonus is nice. I am good with how other's vote though.

Male Gnome Bard/4 -- HP: 34/35; AC18, T14, FF15; F+4,R+7,W+6; Per +8; Init +2

Sorry - been busy the past few days.

Knowledge(planes): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17

Oops, I think that the DM already dealt with this.

Will try to get a real post up tomorrow.

Male Gnome Bard/4 -- HP: 34/35; AC18, T14, FF15; F+4,R+7,W+6; Per +8; Init +2

Kind of confused. Somehow Drakra doesn't have any spell craft.

Knowledge(most everything relevant): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18 <-- oh well, any chance I can make each knowledge check separately?

Male Gnome Bard/4 -- HP: 34/35; AC18, T14, FF15; F+4,R+7,W+6; Per +8; Init +2

Works for me. Drakra will spend most of the time trying to explain away what he just blurted out under the effects of the Zone of Truth.

Male Gnome Bard/4 -- HP: 34/35; AC18, T14, FF15; F+4,R+7,W+6; Per +8; Init +2

Drakra looks about the concerned, but not overly so, despite the strange feeling.

Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25

Will: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11

After carefully inspecting the area from behind Godwin, which he is suddenly annoyed to discover is no longer behind the holy warrior when Godwin leaves the room.

What did you leave for? Not scared of the place? Does not look to be much here. We can probably get what is in the chest. That should be enough to buy our way out of this town, and away from these horrible demons. They give me the . . .

Drakra suddenly stops, realizing what he is saying. Suddenly his face turns even redder than his red hair. Meekly he also leaves the room, attempting to hide behind anything that he can find to make himself as invisible and unnoticeable as possible.

Male Gnome Bard/4 -- HP: 34/35; AC18, T14, FF15; F+4,R+7,W+6; Per +8; Init +2

Drakra continues his taunting:
Your so ugly, even a dog won't bite you.

Male Gnome Bard/4 -- HP: 34/35; AC18, T14, FF15; F+4,R+7,W+6; Per +8; Init +2

Drakra continues his litany of insults at the tiefling, trying to distract him so that his companions can deal with the caster.

I heard that your mother took a ghost home thinking it was you. Said it was the best you had smelled in years.

Free - Maintain Inspire Courage

Ready Attack: 1d20 + 5 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (3) + 5 + 1 - 4 = 5 <-- ready to fire it/when the tiefling tries to cast or attack
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5

It would have been a perfect shot . . . if the broad side of the desk had been Drake's target.

Male Gnome Bard/4 -- HP: 34/35; AC18, T14, FF15; F+4,R+7,W+6; Per +8; Init +2

Unsure of what the tiefling is planning, and hoping to stop him from further casting, Drakra loads his crossbow and prepares to shoot the tiefling should he once more attempt to cast.

Ready action to shoot if the tiefling again attempts to cast.

Ready attack: 1d20 + 5 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (8) + 5 + 1 - 4 = 10 <-- -4 assumes shooting into combat
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Male Gnome Bard/4 -- HP: 34/35; AC18, T14, FF15; F+4,R+7,W+6; Per +8; Init +2

A second before Vardan charges, perhaps tipped off by a whispered prayer from the cavalier, Drakra steps out and into view.
I bring you only compliments concerning your inbred blood and your craving for the love of rats, for none other would pay heed to one as homely as yourself.

Begin Inspire Courage.

+1 attack/damage - if Drakra goes before Vardan, this should add 1 do Vardan's damage

Male Gnome Bard/4 -- HP: 34/35; AC18, T14, FF15; F+4,R+7,W+6; Per +8; Init +2

Hearing the confused, and perhaps useable, statement, Drakra speaks up from behind the others.
Yes, we took out a priest and just eliminates several guards. We are quite sure that we will take out a command center quite soon. We recovered some very nice items, let us show them to you.

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17 <-- if Bluff is more applicable, subtract 1 (-1)
--> technically everything is true, so not sure whether this is a bluff or diplomacy

As he finishes, he whispers via his message spell: Get him before he realizes his mistake.

Male Gnome Bard/4 -- HP: 34/35; AC18, T14, FF15; F+4,R+7,W+6; Per +8; Init +2

Drakra whispers back the distance while he attempts to make himself as small as possible hiding until the others get to him.

Male Gnome Bard/4 -- HP: 34/35; AC18, T14, FF15; F+4,R+7,W+6; Per +8; Init +2

Once again, this is Drakra you sent off scouting. You are lucky he didn't just wander off smelling the flowers or something like that.

Male Gnome Bard/4 -- HP: 34/35; AC18, T14, FF15; F+4,R+7,W+6; Per +8; Init +2

Drakra is not the most astute military mind. He just figured that the rest of the party would use some modicum of stealth, but I can see the rest of you just charging down as soon as evil is mentioned considering the makeup of the party. Lol.

Male Gnome Bard/4 -- HP: 34/35; AC18, T14, FF15; F+4,R+7,W+6; Per +8; Init +2

Drakra is still in the corridor. He cast a Message spell before heading down so that he could communicate with the rest of the party. He whisper-messaged the last statement.

Male Gnome Bard/4 -- HP: 34/35; AC18, T14, FF15; F+4,R+7,W+6; Per +8; Init +2

Drakra steps back into the corridor and then whispers back to the others:
Room down the stairs. Big teifling with fancy leather and a Morningstar. Has a pentagram in his chest.

Male Gnome Bard/4 -- HP: 34/35; AC18, T14, FF15; F+4,R+7,W+6; Per +8; Init +2

Drakra hears what Godwin says through the message spell, but does not respond, fairly certain that Godwin must be speaking of one of the others. He does somehow manage to avoid wetting himself during his search.

Male Gnome Bard/4 -- HP: 34/35; AC18, T14, FF15; F+4,R+7,W+6; Per +8; Init +2

Um . . . Are you sure this is a good idea? . . . Um . . . with invisibility?

After protesting, without success, Drakra will drink a potion of invisibility and head further in.

Drakra will use his Message SLA to stay in contact with Godwin, Vardan and Fomiel.

Stealth: 1d20 + 10 + 20 ⇒ (20) + 10 + 20 = 50 <-- yeh, he ain't gonna be seen

And like that, the generally incompetent gnome disappears and is gone, without even the smallest of noises.
