I've been doodling a fair amount for the CotCT game I'm running for my group, so I thought I'd share what I've got so far.

First, our team:

Aula Wintrex, Wizard

Modus Sharn, Urban Ranger

Next, I got such a kick out of N'Wah's custom paper minis, That I'm trying it out myself. Here's what I have so far for 'Seven Days to the Grave':

Did you happen to do any of these for "Edge of Anarchy"...? I'm planning on running CotCT for my tabletop group and don't have appropriate minis. I'd love to print these off, color them, and use them for my game, if possible.

They're currently sized to be printed out on a 4"x6" index card (which my printed handles specifically, but I'm not sure if everyone else's does) as is. They should come out approximately 1.5" tall, and about an inch across on the base.The originals were sized to 150dpi before I uploaded them to Photobucket (which hopefully isn't resizing them to 72dpi, internet standard); if they're printing out too tall, just reduce them 50% in your favorite image-editting software.

If your printer doesn't handle index cards, just pick up a sturdy card stock.

For bases, I've been cutting my own out of index card, but they're proving large and a tad too light, so I may switch to pennies soon.

Let me know if you're having any more trouble.

Sorry Neil, but I haven't done any for Edge of Anarchy. I didn't start until about two weeks ago, well after we got into 'Seven Days to the Grave'. I have a few more figures to finish for Seven Days, but afterwards I think I'll go back and draw some Edge of Anarchy figures (at least until I need some Escape from Old Korvosa figs in a month or so).

There are some great personalities in EoA that I really would love to draw, especially the Derro :D

My group only plays twice a month...alternating Fridays...and we won't get started until Jan. 23rd. So, if you have time between now and then...and you manage to finish up your Seven Days figures, I'd love to use anything you can complete by then. If you knocked out Gaedran Lamm and his cronies first, it would probably be another couple of weeks after that before we played again. So I have a feeling you could easily stay out in front of us as far as drawing the figures go.

But no pressure. This is purely at your convenience. You're the artist and I'm just a fan. :-D

i agree witrh Lynora

its not a club of "we draw this". It just began as practice for 1 person and it has become a bit of practice for lot of people, and the joy of a lot many more... myself included...

and we comment becuse we like what you are doing :)

as Lynora says... there are more commisions than artist and time...

Just decide which type you want and the size (either 25 or 30 MM is the closest to 1" scale) click on it and a PDF file opens that you can print onto cardstock, cut out, and glue together for a base. (Glue a penny into the base for some weight if you want to.)

Thanks Fake Healer. These are perfect! Up until now, I'd just been tracing the bases for Warmachine minis onto an index card, then coloring it with a black marker.

I'll post an action-shot from our game last night as soon as I figure out how to get photos off of a cell phone.

I finished up the last of the minis I'd be needing for "Seven Days to the Grave" today, so here's the rest of that set.

Seven Days to the Grave, Set #3: Everything you need to start your own Urgothoan Cult, including both of Lady Andaisin's forms

Seven Days to the Grave, Set #3.5: I couldn't get the Leukodaemon to fit on the card with all the other Urgathoan cult encounters, so he gets his own entry

Looks like I'll be starting on those minis for Edge of Anarchy earlier than I'd thought.

Beautiful style. Love the uber-cartoony-ness. It actually reminds me slightly more of Kyle Hunter as opposed to Phil Foglio (though both are excellent artists). I love it.

What sort of art supplies and editing software do you use? The cleanliness of your lines is incredible.

Immora, my method's similar to yours, but I've got a circle template I use for the bases (generally 7/8ths for a Medium character, 3/4 for a Small), and I do it on double-thick cardstock (same with the minis, BTW). Just leave a little tab on the bottom of your mini, score it with an X-acto, fold it back, color it with a marker, and glue to the base.

Regarding the One Monk bases: do you actually glue the extra base tab part in between the sandwiched-together mini? Or is it over the bottom of the mini?

Also, did they actually recommend glueing a penny onto the bases? Awww... that was my technique... (they kept falling off, though, so I gave it up).

You kinda would need to have a bit of empty space below the mini to glue the tabs to or it would obscure the mini's feet, but just leaving 3/16" of free space below the mini give you plenty of glue-able space to connect mini to base.

Hmm... good to know. We've been making a tab at the bottom of the mini for single-siders, though since people seem to really want double-siders, we were making a tab on both sides that you fold down onto the base. I don't know if I like the mini looking like it's floating (unless the mini is actually floating), but if people don't mind that, it might not be a bad idea. It'd work better for Immora's pieces, methinks, since they're not standing with their feet flat on the ground, and it'd be a shame to lose any part of the art.

Guess best way is to experiment and see what works.

I almost always use Col-Erase pencils for the sketching (blue if I plan on inking it, but sometimes red or green if I'm just doodling). They've got a lot of wax in them and glide and shade really nicely. When I'm inking these, I'm just using a fine-tip sharpie for most of it, and a Micron .02 pen for the very tiny details.

Heh, I do 'em double-sized myself, though I may try triple-sized sometime. I did the Sharpie thing for quite a while, too, since they were free at work (if you, y'know, "borrow" them). Interesting pen combo, though.

I would really love to take a swing at the RotRL stone giants; they gave our party a real run for our money. But right now I'm just focusing on CotCT with my spare time. Most of my time is going towards maintaining and repairing the house and job-hunting.

On the other hand, if you'd like to PM me and talk about a private commission, I could justify to myself taking the extra time to make them. It would probably be pretty cheap, too.

Thank you so much, Aureus. I was worrying that people wouldn't like them much; my style is pretty cartoony. I'm very happy to be proven wrong.

I'm reading "Skeletons of Scarwall" right now, and the encounters in there are going to be amazingly good. Nothing like quality writing to get the artistic juices flowing.

Can't argue with that. Aside from cartoony dogs or something, I've got barely more than zero experience with drawing most animals. A beast of eyes and tentacles is fine, but if it's gotta look like a natural animal, I'm screwed. :P

Eh. It's just an issue of referrence material. Google Images is awesome for cartoonists and illustrators.

Believe me, I'm on the Google Images like beans on rice. I'm just terrible with animals, is all. Sometimes they turn out okay, but a lot of quadrupedal mammals give me loads of trouble (I hate horses in general, so drawing them is extra-difficult).

So, yeah. Until I get some more practice, I'll leave most animals to you. :P

You know, Wes, I only live a mile or two from the Paizo office. I could bring you a Ramoska mini and a few Queen's Physicians (and maybe even something special) in a blatant attempt to get that warehouse job I applied for :)

This week has been strange and hectic, and now the stock from an entire game store is living in my ground floor.

Still, I managed to get a little bit of drawing done:

Edge of Anarchy - Set 2: This one features the renegade guards wholed up in a butcher shop, along with the boars and reefclaws that help make everything that much harder. I'm really unhappy at the reefclaw I did, and will probably take another stab at it soon.
