One for the GMs

My day... week... life as of late has pretty much been dominated by putting the final (-ish) touches on our next big hardcover, the GameMastery Guide. It's at that weird and exciting point right now where it's making that transition between a maddening number of .doc files and something at actually looks like a book. So between the dozens of tables, charts, stats, and hundreds of pages of advice, some pretty awesome art and incredible layouts are creeping in. While I'll save most of the really exciting parts for previews closer to this behemoth's release, I wanted to throw one of my favorite new half-page illustrations out there. For now, though, it's back to those endless tables. 100 dungeon features, here I come...

I'm trying to recall but is this the only picture that has all three arcane iconics together?

Why do you hate halflings? Doesn't Lem count?

Lem is a wussy! Seltyiel, however, is a true Chelaxian who worships the Divine Asmodeus. ;P

Too bad the arcane iconics did not bother to make knowledge rolls.

That's actually an albino Red Dragon.

Good luck to the iconics on the Reflex saves.

You mentioned "tables" in the blog post, made me think:

What are the chances that the missing SRD tables will make it into the GMG? Specifically I mean the tables for rolling basic weapon and armor types as treasure, but I think there are one or two other tables that got left out.

That was kind of the big mystery yesterday afternoon. We'll find out once Sarah gets in.

Scorching ray isn't on the bard spell list, so he would have just been standing there singing.

That pic just became the wallpaper for my computer. Awesome.

Of course, now I need to find a good number of D&D related high-quality pics that I can have Windows 7 auto-rotate through...

Sweet gods, my computer is going to try to come up with a way to kick me in the face for this. Thanks.

Alex Aparin? Why'd he write "Belker" in the corner?

It might come as a shock to some, but "KaeYoss" is not my real name. My real name is...

Spoiler:
... unpronounceable without at least 8 mouths with three or more tongues each speaking in unison

Paizo Employee Director of Brand Strategy

Huh, it looks like the artist uses "Belibr" as a pseudonym. His professional website uses that name, at least: link. I hope we see more from him. He does good work!

Silver Crusade

Awesome pic.

But every time I dwell on the context I keep feeling like the casters are just there to grief the dragon, having been on the recieving end of easily spammed attacking from multiple enemies at once. Damn spawn campers!

That dragon has one high SR....

No, of course not. He's a bard, not a real arcane caster. He's in the Skill Monkey category with Merisiel and maybe Harsk, or else Sajan. The Divine category has Seelah, Kyra, and Lini, the Tank category has Valeros, Amiri, Seelah, and Harsk, and then Seltiyel and maybe even Sajan. The only real arcane casters are Seoni and Ezren, and then Seltiyel. Lem would barely rank as the 4th arcane caster, if you even wanted to put him in there at all.

And I wish the widescreen art would start being posted in 1920. Loses something when blown up from 1680.

General rule for artists is to use real names instead of nicknames Alex is the cover artist for Pathfinder Companion Andoran. He certainly will have a lot more illustrations for us like the cover for the upcoming City of Golden Death.
