I've been meaning to shout this out. Good one, DW, this is some awesome imagery. I can totally see this being in a movie. :)

Lol! That's just greatness.

Oh wait! What I meant was: Hey! What's the big idea?! *Shakes fist* ;)

I'm back!

Thanks for the nice words Javell!

I need to go through a lot of posts, but I'll chime back as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience!

Im back sorry for the long disappearance been busy with a lot of things lately but as i said im back now to catch up

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

Excellent! We need some fresh thinking. Kaerishiel and Shalelu have gotten themselves captured by drow and we can't find where they are holed up.

I won't be able to post much during Easter. Please bot me if needed.

Please note I'll be mostly away from a computer starting tomorrow. Bot me as needed.

Speaking of facing powerful mages: Did we rest? I think not.

We have not rested. Kaerishiel, supposedly the top elf warrior around here, sometimes seems like a plot device to keep us moving quickly. He seems pretty incompetent in general. (Too late to help with the dragon things. This is the second time he's gotten himself captured.) Now Shalelu is getting in on that scene.

Description

An elemental gem comes in one of four different varieties. Each contains a conjuration spell attuned to a specific elemental plane (Air, Earth, Fire, or Water).

When the gem is crushed, smashed, or broken (a standard action), a Large elemental appears as if summoned by a summon nature's ally spell. The elemental is under the control of the creature that broke the gem.

The coloration of the gem varies with the type of elemental it summons. Air elemental gems are transparent, earth elemental gems are light brown, fire elemental gems are reddish orange, and water elemental gems are blue-green.

Effing drow poison. I think Iolar's spent as much time sleeping as fighting in combat against these guys. =(

Do we still have Vendric? If not can we bot him? Zoltan alone is going to have trouble.

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

GO LilWilly!

The mind bending couldn't last forever, DW.

Iolar's got some consumable resources that might help. You'd probably have to search her though.:

Beltpouch
1 potion cure serious wounds
1 potion spiderclimb
Elemental Gem (Air)
Feather Token (WHIP)
Wand of CLW (19 charges)
Silversheen
Antitoxin
Tindertwig 5x

Spell component pouch 2 lbs.

1 gp 7 sp

Handy Haversack

Tanglefoot bag 2x
Alchemist's Fire

Forever mind bending is mind breaking :)

And I'm sure Lothan would like to do the searching.

Please note that I'm away for four days, with little access to Internet. Bear with, and bot, me.

Aargh!

I had a scroll of Neutralize Poison, which I used on Iar before. I had made a mental note of replacing it and getting more, but that note went the way of the dodo...

Sorry guys.

Female Elf Init +5 \\ HP 54/61 \\ AC 19,14,16 \\ F 6, R 5, W 10 \\ Percept 11

S'OK. Because PbP moves so slowly it's easy to forget those things.

Meanwhile the neutralize poison that Iolar has prepared is safely locked in her brain.

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

Away for the long weekend.

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

That's our Lothan moving from one diplomatic victory to the next!

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

These things are brutal. We don't have good DR penetration.

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

Yeah we stink at that completely. This is where a bruiser like Tyrrol would've come in real handy. Even without the ability to bypass DR, he could do enough damage to make a difference.

Seeing how it seems to be marginally hurt, I'd guess it has DR 10. So with that being said, I could hit this demon with every arrow and barely do squat. Basically a d8's worth seeing how my bonus damage is 10. That's why I was hoping to confirm that crit with one of those arrows earlier. That's the only way I'm gonna be able to really hurt it.

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

Nice, DW. I thought it was a WTF suicide run, but it was tactics instead. I am impressed.

It was? Thank the gods!!!

[ooc] And really, when did Lothan ever take 2 rounds to buff! :-D

Absolutely never. I 99.9% of the time NEVER do this. Like ever. Real life gaming or pbp. But considering the enemy, I figure I better give myself a chance to make a real difference.

And I know... 2 rounds of doing nothing and it's a dragon! Yeah, it truly is insane and I don't like wasting rounds casting. Desperate times and all that I guess. :)

Unfortunately I don't get Ranged Touch attacks like Zoltan gets. Which is so freaking awesome by the way. Man that is huge.

And we all know a dragon's touch AC is the worst in the business. A Gunslinger would be a dragon's bane for sure.

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

I'm sure the buffing will be worth it once the shooting starts.

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

Man, you know I went through this part in RL many, many moons ago and we didn't even fight this guy. There was no way we could beat it. We had a monk, a fighter, a bard, and a ranger/rogue.

Practically no casters. And Alchemist didn't exist. Or Gunslingers(We wouldn't have run one of those anyway because we just don't feel they belong in the DnD world. It's too non-fantasy like. Personally, though, I've come to like 'em). :)

I gotta say, this shocks me. I'm totally NOT AT ALL use to such destruction to A DRAGON in such a short time. It is absolutely amazing how devastating a class can be that has offensive capabilities that involve touch attacks. I knew about the gunslinger because I run one but I would never have thought this would be possible. I truly thought we were gonna bite the dust in this one.

Shows what I know. :P

Yeah ranged touch attacks are great. Always liked that about gunslinger and the alchemist's bombs. Used to run a gunslinger/alchemist in RL that shot his bombs out with his gun.

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

I thought we were going to buy it too. That giant eagle was the last of my big guns. Not that Iolar's guns look big compared to what Vendric just dished out.

I absolutely agree. On the other hand, I've been in a mid-level campaign involving demons after demons, and the alchemist just left as he felt he wasn't able to do much since he had focused so much on fire damage...

But Vendrick's damage output is quite scary!

Well my original plan was to do that to the demon but thanks to that I realized I could use the paragon surge extract to basically change the type of damage I do with the feat it grants. When I first started playing the alchemist class I didn't realize the damage output they could do I just liked the weird things I could do with them. (In a RL game made a four armed bat winged tentacled mummified bomb lobing half-elf. Looked like as evil as could be but was CG.) I'm mainly drawn to weird and interesting classes.

I'll be on vacation from July 25 to August 2. I won't be able to post much if at all. Please bot me as you see fit.

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

You all have got to check out this LINK

It's just... unreal. Absolutely crazy.

Guess The dice roller is paying you back for all those ones earlier.

Yes, it is all those nice comments you made about the dicebot in the past! I've seen so many 1s, but never so many 20s!!

So no more 20s for a year for you!

I like what your DM did with them.

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

Why couldn't you have saved that for our game? ;-p

therealthom wrote:

Yes, that's the real question! What is it Javell, you don't like us?!

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

Lol! Ummm, LOOK! Over there! *Turns and runs*

Yeah, the DM's description was pretty dang cool.

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

Two arcanists on the stairs with the starfield, I thought we'd hit our BBEGs. But they went down so easy that I guess not. Nice work, guys.

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

Oooo! A climatic rooftop confrontation.

Go get him, DW.

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

Is that the first time you failed to break spell resistance, DW? You've had a really good run.

Yup. I tried to Javell it, but the dicebot clearly has his favourites...

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

LOL!

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

Going away for the weekend. Back Monday. May be able to sneak a post in tomorrow.

Please note I'll be away until Sunday night. I'll try to post when possible.

That is officially the end of this adventure. Thanks for playing everyone! It was fun seeing the PCs interact with each other.

I don't think I'll be running the next segment of the AP, at least not any time soon. I'm not really sure.

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

Ludomancer , thank you for running the game. Javell, DW, Lilwilly it's been great playing with you.

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

Appreciate ya calling me in on this one, Ludomancer.

And enjoyed the heck out of running with you all. Good stuff all around. :)

Nice! Thanks GM, it was a great adventure! And thanks to my fellow gamers, you've made it quite alive and fun!

Sad to see it end but it was nice playing with you all. Now to find a new pbp to take part in.

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

Hey, DA, you mind making this one inactive? I'd appreciate it.
