Somehow I don't think a bonus would have helped at all.

+4 for working diligently
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
1d20 ⇒ 4
Zarque does everything he can but he got cramps which slowed him down a bit, luckily he is alone down there(As far as I can tell anyway)so he does as much as he can, then he will cast Silent image so if anyone checks on him it will appear as though he did a good amount of work.

Male Halfling Sea-Singer Bard 4 (AC: 17 [T: 14 /F: 14]; HP: 26/26; F+1, R+7, W+4; Init: +3; Perc: +9)

Day's Job 1d6 ⇒ 2, Cooking, no roll needed since Ambrose is sober.
Since Durvin doesn't have really much in the way of work to do, can he either assist Zaketta, or do it for her seeing her do so poorly instead of taking a day action?

If so,
Acrobatics 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12,
Fatigue if he can work for her 1d20 ⇒ 2.
Sorry Zarque, she had the lower result, and a chance for greater punishment.

Seeing that Ambrose doesn't really need much from him, Durvin tries his best to help out his friends. Seeing Zaketta nearly falling over herself or running into everyone on deck, he offers to lend a hand or in this case his feet.

Luckily Zarque is all alone in the bilges, and manages not to be punished for his bad work since Plugg makes a very light check. Zaketta is not so lucky, even with Durvin's assistance, and finds herself cracked thrice with the whip before rum rations are passed out. Further, you notice those of the other sailors who were against you giving you dirty looks all through the night. It seems odd, until Sandara calls Zaketta over shortly before bunking. "Did you see Plugg and Scourge today? They saw you making friends, and now they're making friends of their own. I don't see this ending well."

"They have a problem with us making friends? Do they expect us hang around hating everyone or something?"

Male Halfling Sea-Singer Bard 4 (AC: 17 [T: 14 /F: 14]; HP: 26/26; F+1, R+7, W+4; Init: +3; Perc: +9)

"Are you sure, those two don't seem the type to be good at making friends?" Durvin questions, thoroughly confused. "I thought the group that tried to show us who the alpha dogs were on the ship the second day, were their friends. Oh, this probably can't be good. Maybe we just need MORE friends."

Male Human Super Cruel DM 10

"They were Plugg's favorites, but he seems to be finding more friends. I think he sees you as troublemakers, maybe even a threat." Sandara looks troubled. "Don't be alone with Plugg. Never seen anything, but I hear people he doesn't like have a nasty habit of going overboard in the middle of the night."
