In a flash Balator sprints ahead and vaults the barrier with a single stride laying a savage strike on one of the ogres. Up close he realizes that they are not normal ogres but some type of twisted undead, the stench of rotting flesh wafting from their bodies.

Is Quinley still with us? Have him suck up some damage and make some attacks!

Sadly, Quinley left after meeting his commitment to introduce you to Luvick.

One of the apparently undead ogres seems to be severely damaged by multiple blows and magic.

Uuranx rushes back in the direction of the arrow fire to find 3 startled archers, amazed at his alacrity.

A human form (vampire?) bursts from the sewer waters and attacks Uuranx from behind while at the same time another vampire bursts from the water near Balator and the barricade, attacking him from the rear.

Energy Drain (Su)

A creature hit by a vampire's slam (or other natural weapon) gains two negative levels. This ability only triggers once per round, regardless of the number of attacks a vampire makes.

Vampire attacks from behind, so going to assume Balator is flat footed for AC.

Balator shreds through an ogre before dealing some damage to the other one. The fallen ogre's flesh slowly knits itself together. The fight will need to be finished quickly or the creature will be back on its feet shortly.

Meanwhile Alamin and Uuranx turn their vampire into a gaseous cloud from their combined blows.

Archers on Uuranx:

Archer 1: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (9) + 15 = 241d8 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 91d20 + 11 ⇒ (2) + 11 = 131d8 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10

Alamin frowns-Enough of the bluster and threats. Either we bring this man in for justice, even if it's Luvick's, or we give him justice here. Sarenrae's blade will determine his fate if you wish, although Luvick may be able to get the answers from him that we cannot.

Alamin, trulely evil. Your call. I assume he will be dead and not talk with others who wish to kill us. I will stand away as you do this as you pray to Saranrae.

You have a special skill with your blade. Can you tell us about it?

Or do your duty.

If Alamin does not use the sword of justice...

Randtam plunges a masterwork silver dagger through the temple of the archer. He sees the tip on the other side.

Real death only. I would wish this for myself.

I hate Caliphas. I hate our so called friends. Let us leave now and find our own way. I feel like I am being choked and manipulated. Alamin, tough to say, but I trust you. I want out of this hell hole.

Alamin looks sadly at Randtam-You are right Randtam, we must finish our business here in Caliphas quickly. Our dealings with the bloodsucking filth appear to taking a toll on all of us.

After searching the body she pushes into the flowing sewer waters muttering a quick prayer.

As Balator said, let's go.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

The 3 archers each had +1 leather, +1 long bows, MW short sword, MW dagger, and 300GP worth of coins and jewels (900 total).

One had a ring of protection +2, one had a ring of water walking.

There was also a set of burglar boots-major, a vambrace of defence, and a set of gloves of the shortened path.

The party makes its way back to Luvick's court with no further issue.

Luvick's daunting form sits on his throne talking to some other vampire lords, his voice rasps out-Your return must mean good news. At least I hope that's what it means...for your sake.

Randtam looks at Alamin knowing what shall happen as she kicks the carcass into the water.
He actually sees the anguish that crosses her face for a millisecond. Randtam knows he did not do the heavy lifting here. She probably missed the look. I might have even been firmly respectful of the Aasimar. She is stronger than I thought
As you say. Balator said Lets go.

Never saw the previous post with Luvik

"Yes, Lord Luvick, we have been successful but the news is not likely to bring joy to your ears. Radvir Giovanni is the vampire killer."

Luvick is quiet for a few moments and then-You must be right, or at least you must believe you are right. Who else knows of this? Bah...it matters not; go to his store on the surface-The Nobleman's Stitch. His coffin lies within, although I deem there will be many guardians and traps about it and they will not be asleep during the day. Stake him and bring him back to me for justice. I will find out what has caused this betrayal before I offer him to Sarenrae's kiss.

Alamin looks at Balator-You are brave beyond words my friend, and I am glad to travel with you. Certainly we must heal you and the others that need it. An extra day isn't going to put Radvir beyond our reach.

Luvick provides you with plush resting quarters (unless you want to rest in the city). Either way, Alamin restores everyone to full health and once fully rested you make your way to the Nobleman's stitch (unless you decide to do something else).

Would that time enable us to figure out the treasure we just got???

Particularly the ring of protection +2, ring of water walking, a vambrace of defence, and gloves of the shortened path.

The ring of protection +2 would boost Balators' AC. Thinking that the Gloves of the Shortened Path could be handy as well for Alamin, Uuranx or Balator.

Yeah, any of the three (ring of prot, vambrace, and gloves) would be good for me also.

The rest time is more than enough for Randtam to determine the item's properties. You can deploy them as you wish before moving on.

Why doesn't Uuranx take the gloves if he has that slot open. We may need to hit something far away very hard and you hit harder than the rest of us. Uuranx can take the vambrace too if he wants.

I will take the +2 ring of protection if there are no objections. Also going to take a +1 bow.

Alamin or someone should wear water walking in case we need it for something coming up soon, we can sell at the end if we don't end up needing it.
