As you walk, you notice the frost and ice growing thicker on the trail. Several minutes later, you come to a gaping hole in the ground wreathed in ice. A slick path slopes into the cave.

"It looks as if creatures of the ice and snow outside have made a home in the glade." Sigrdrífa says noting the change. "Something that made this hole."

The warrior songstress slips her axe from the strap across her back.


"Or the glade is the unnatural thing here," Thorgr suggests.

She nods her head, "I would have to agree with Thorgr....I mean we all saw the statues coming in. If everything else was snow and ice except for the glade, then it would suggest that the glade had been created at some point through magic.......the question is how."

She reaches into her bag and pulls out a couple strange spiked lookin things and attaches them to her boots, "There.....that might help a little. Can't ever be too careful. Right Goldi?"

Goldi simply nods , ahh, yeah. right she says looking away.

she takes off her pack and sets it down. rummaging through everything she realizes she only brought food.

she sits beside her pack a little embarrassed about her lack of preparation.

she unloads the stuff truffles was carrying as well, and assembles her few real adventuring stuff like her crooked staff and some other minor things.


Thorgr nods as you begin your descent into the icy cave. His group holds onto the rope as you go first. There is faint illumination in the cave and you hear sounds echoing in the darkness.

Looking at Sig she says, "Well....I'm not much use for that, but I think Goldi might be able to." Looking over at Goldi she gets a curious look on her face, "I forget.....how's your eyes in the dark Goldie?"
Then as they decend she listens to see if she can determine what the sounds are or where they're coming from.

Goldi answers Frosty, same as yours, besides the choice may have already been made since we are near the last to descend. I only am wondering about Truffles here, despite the numerous requests, boars (aka pigs) do not fly.

Goldi will end up being the last to climb into the cave.

unless I am totally wrong here but are we climbing into a hole or actually walking into a cave? if we are just walking into a cave then forget what I just said

Don't worry, I got these rough thingies on my boots to help keep me from slipping....." She chances a glance at Thorgr before looking back at Goldie, "Though I'm glad to have the extra support." She smiles a bit shyly before looking away and checking to make sure she has everything with her. She looks thoughtfully at Mr. Truffles then back at Goldie, "Maybe we can make some kind of makeshift harness or something to help Truffles down? I think I have some extra rope in my pack...."

As she leans down in order to hear Goldi, her mouth pops open in surprise and her cheeks turn a little more pink than they already are. Nudging her friend lightly in the arm she whispers as well, "Mo....uh Goldie....hey stop callin him that will ya? Please....pleeaassse try to refrain from telling him any of those stories about me you think are so cute. Please.....for me?" Her voice has a slight whine to it as she looks just a little embarrassed as she realizes what she almost called her long time friend. Well....come to think of it, when things got....complicated back home, her Sugarsnap was always the one that was there for her. In many ways Goldi was very much like a momma to her. She shrugs as her light blond hair falls haphazardly in her face.

I figured that was a foregone conclusion, ;P


After descending carefully down the slick slope, you come to an even area, most of it covered in ice. Still, you find plenty on non-slick areas to step through.

Sigrdrífa grins as the potential danger starts to bring Frostine's "fire" to the surface. The irony had the makings of quite a tale. As the group begins to move she draws her axe from where it sits strapped across her back.
