Broot Hammerfight |
Broot lags behind following the wake of the party as they head down the street.
perception for a duskwarden barracks: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Kort Drakovich |
Leapfrogging local establishments with Dasiji/Noa, Kort, Kas, and Broot follow into the Downmarket. The trio finds a bar to belly up to, just off the market square. Eyeing the professional ladies at the bar, Kort stacks a small stack of silver in front of the barkeep, and asks, "Much as I am interested in some of the other items on offer, I'll settle for some wine for the moment, and one each for my friends as well. I'm also looking for some people to go with some names. Do you know where a Chelish nobleman named Krazel might be found? Or perhaps Ardoc - I understand he's recognizable by his solidly constructed bodyguards."
Also looking for any assist from Kass or Broot on the gather information check... :)
diplomacy(gather information): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
...or should I find another bar?
At the very least, this sort of clumsy poking around will draw some attention. Maybe Krazel or Ardoc will be annoyed enough to come and find Kort.
Kort Drakovich |
Having failed spectacularly to exercise his self-perceived strength of Charisma, Kort hurries after Noa and Dasiji through the narrower back streets. He hopes to catch up with them at the doors of the... 'professional establishment'. Kort also encourages Broot quietly, "If that is what I think it is... this may be more enjoyable than I'd expected. C'mon!" Looking slightly abashedly at Kas, "Oh, c'mon."
As the approach the door of the brothel, Kort shakes off his unaccustomed embarassment. He rubs his hands together, "If folks are going to be laid out on their backs, this is a much better alternative than the last place. Female companionship is much more motivating than cold dead contacts."
And Kort enters the front door, striding into the establishment as though a long-time, regular customer. Entering the foyer, he casts his gaze around, looking for a cluster of golems.
not sure if I need it, but I'm feelin' it: bluff: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
perception: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (4) + 0 = 4
...and the dice hate me. Hopefully my pretty, confident self will provide distraction.
Noamuth PFS |
Noa spoke to the greeter. Such places always had greeters. Pretty enough, such would be, but more importantly a reader of people. It made no sense to try and bluff, and they had no story they were tryign to sell, anyway...
"Hey. I'm Noa, this is 'Siji, we no' here for usual business. Coul' we tal' to Miss Feathers? Woul' tha' be alrigh'?"

GM Brute Squad |
Whoever wants to enter, may do so.
You are graciously lead to a large chamber. The well adorned room is lit by a few lamps, and features a large bed with red, silk sheets, curtains, and some oddly shaped but soft furniture. The theme of feathers is prominently displayed around the room, with a full peacock tail over the bed.
Miss Feathers emerges from behind a curtain. Tall, she is wearing a bright, multicolored dress with feathers interwoven in her long hair.
You are startled when her deep, booming voice greats you with a chuckle. Ha, ha! A group! It has been weeks since I entertained a group! Well, you have come to the right place for pleasures exotic and sensual.
Observing the strong jaw and muscular chest and arms, you quick realize that Miss Feathers is not a Miss at all. He/She walks over to Kort and lays a hand on his shoulder. You look a little tense, young-and-cute one. I know an eastern massage method that is wonderful. Fix you right up.
Noamuth PFS |
"I woul' no' wan' to deny you your pleasures...", Noa teases Kort. "We coul' leave him here wi' you...", the gypsy suggests, "Bu' we came here hoping you know an Ardoc? We seem to have a mutual dea' frien', an'... wan' to fin' him."
Kort Drakovich |
Kort is non-plussed at the... attentions... of Miss Feathers. His face reflects active confusion - though a bit of a hedonist, Kort is not a sophisticate. At the same time, he is just a bit of a hedonist, and Miss Feathers provides a dazzlingly colorful view, and apparent interest and professionalism.
After a momentary internal struggle, Kort metaphorically shrugs, leans in, and puts his arm around Miss Feathers. He murmurs loudly enough to be heard by Noa and the others, "An Ardoc that would clutter up this lovely establishment with mindless moving statues. ಅತಿ ಎಡ."
Mortimer Allen Vunder |
Sorry been busy
Mortimer looks at the boldly decorated building and frowns. "I... I think I'll just stay out here with Fasch..." He takes a seat with his back to a nearby building where he can watch the entrance. After the others go in he rifles though his backpack for something to do and finds and old letter and begins to reread it.
Kassandra Carolingian |
Kassandra shivers at the last statement Miss Feather makes and recomposes herself.
Please, we are looking for Besel, we don't want to spend anymore time sequestering you then we already have.
Diplomacy 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24
Kort Drakovich |
Kort swoons histrionically to lean into Miss Feathers. With a hand on his brow (think Bette Davis...), [b]"If called upon, I shall make all sacrifices are needed to slake your needs, Miss Feathers." With his other hand, Kort reaches behind and energetically squeezes, then gooses, Miss Feathers.
'If it's to be play-acting and taking of roles, may as well be in for a penny, in for a pound.'
GM Brute Squad |
Oh, Oo! Miss Feathers plants a large wet one on Kort’s lips for several seconds, then lets Kort go and composes herself. Well! Come back and see me anytime you like, cutie.
You were asking about Besel Ardoc. I was drinking in the Augur’s Entrails this morning. They serve some powerful grog there. I overheard Besel talking to the guy who owns the place. Said he’d be back there again tomorrow morning for something. In the mean time if you aren’t busy...
Kort Drakovich |
Kort heaves a theatric sigh, "Duty calls. I must away with me." As he languorously disengages himself, Kort asks Miss Feathers, "Say, do you know a gent named Krazel? He's a friend of a friend, and I've been asked to look in on him."
Noamuth PFS |
"Hey, Kort...", Noa asks, drawing the sorceror away from any too-attentive ears, "Wha's business with Krazel? I go' the same name from my frien' of a frien'. Min' tellin' me wha' you go' goin' on?"
Kort Drakovich |
diplomacy(gather information): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
As Kort once again demonstrates that he's not good at this subtle information-gathering game. Nope, not good at this game at all.

Broot Hammerfight |
Broot is stricken stiff by an idea he must take advantage of before it's too late. He sticks his head back into the brothel one last time and calls out, "Err Miss Feathers! One last thing if'n I may. Would you might know where the Duskwardens hole up for the evenings? A barracks of sorts mayhaps? I too have an 'friend' in need of lookin in on."
diplomacy: 1d20 ⇒ 11
Dasiji Lekaya |
Mortimer notices the others leaving the brothel and puts away the letter. He wanders over to meet them. "What did you find out?"
"Besel will be back at the Augur's Entrails tomorrow morning. And Kort is braver than me." Dasiji winks at the theatrical sorcerer.
Broot Hammerfight |
Broot catches up with the group as they discuss things with each other, meandering down the street.
Hearing Dasiji's suggestion, "Aye, lodging will be necessary as may some drink or 20 to scrub Kort's 'cheekiness' from my mind. I'll join you!"
"AH! 'Scuse me Duskwarden! Might you know of a Garundi amongst yer ranks? Know where I might be able to find 'im?"
Kassandra Carolingian |
Kassandra brisk-fully takes the lead and begins thinking out loud as they walk towards the Augur's Entrails .
So that was intresting, but this makes little sense. I think there are deeper motives going on here. I think Besel is covering up for some one or himself, any thoughts?
Noamuth PFS |
"Surely there is a secre', or people jus' sen' letters, no' us...", Noa agrees.
(Have we lost out native urchin guide? I hope not.)
"Is this the way, to the entrails bar?", Noa asks Fasch. "Wha' else goin' on aroun' here?"
Dasiji Lekaya |
"Hopefully we won't need an augury. I'd better find out when they do that, so that if I'm hungry, I can be eating somewhere else..." Dasiji ponders the potential logistics involved in keeping his food down.
GM Brute Squad |
Fasch is still around. She shows you where the bar in question is, then shows you around the city a little. At night you crash at the house, and get up early to make it back to the Entrails on time. When you arrive you spy some rather conspicuous golems standing outside the bar.
Dasiji Lekaya |
"Oh good, looks like he's here. I think we should try to be polite and not hold the misunderstanding with the goons against him, in case he actually is one of Horis's friends." Aid Another with Diplomacy vs. DC 10: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Broot Hammerfight |
"I think his disposition will be betrayed by his level of drunkenness. Migh' not be much kissin goin round. I'm agreed on the polite approach."
Broot pats his chest just over his heart.
Dasiji Lekaya |
Dasiji steps forward to give the man a pleasant smile and a firm handshake. "Dasiji Lekaya. My companions and I would like to meet Besel Ardoc, since he's reputedly a friend of a friend of a friend, and we're a long way from home."
Broot Hammerfight |
Broot steps up next to Dasiji, looking up to and around the portly man. He nods to their greeter and then leans to the side to better catch Besel eye.
Sir if'n I may, I 'ave 'ere a letter from the Ruby Prince himself. It seeks an Ardoc's hands alone though. Let us also be assured we come in peace seeking answers to the perhaps the same questions.
He reaches inside the breast of his armor and removes a letter.

[occ]Drat! and double drat! Plus assists? Maybe? Did I need a check?[/dice]
Noamuth PFS |
That's not so bad you'll lose ground. You just look a typical dwarf. :)
"We have come a long way.", Noa says wearily. "An' wi' the recen' darkness, we shoul' plan together, for the burial of our mutual frien'" Noa looks sadly at Kassandra.
diplomacy +6, taking 10, to Aid Another on Kass
Kort Drakovich |
Kort doesn't have anything substantive to add to the conversation - his companions appear to have covered the basic content. Instead, Kort stands calm, confident, and easy, consciously projecting assurance.
