Hon's Round 1 actions were to withdraw from his gnoll (full defense)[looking at map heading towards the Giant door.] and tell him not to attack. [ooc] Ok I just read up on full defense/move action/withdraw. I can't withdraw as in threatened space. I can move 20' and provoke AoO, Full defense +4 AC remains a standard action]

Round 2 Hon's head is on a swivel, switching from his gnoll (G8) to Pito at the giant's door. [common]"Pito, step aside. Our battle is with the giants. We must silence that horn!" Hon remains on full defense, another 20', He motions Pito to move aside with his off-hand, whilst gripping the hammer with the other.

Magnum throw his hammer at the door.

The hammer makes a huge thunderclap and rattles the door, but the giant just bellows louder.

Anyone else going before the giant? Joan can shoot again.

Kragg keeps his readied stance should someone try to attack Joan as she keeps firing at the giant. should the gnolls become vilent he will attack them otherwise he keeps his eyes open.

Gallak's hum becomes a full throated drone, undulating in volume and pitch. Drawing the axe, he slams the haft to the floor, punctuating the melody.
Draw axe, five foot step towards the door and activates inspire courage.

One of Joan's arrows bites deep into the giant. Kib fires a missile from a wand, and the giant is immersed in a fiery blast and comes out singed and cursing.

Responding with extreme quickness unnatural in one so tall, the giant fires two rocks the size of small boulders at the gnome in quick succession. Both rocks hit with devastating force and the gnome crumples to the ground.

The gnolls look on in horror. The firepower exchanged by Kib, Joan, and the giant make them recoil. They begin to run to the far wall on the dwarves right as they entered outside the line of sight of the giant.

Exactly where is the giant on the map, i dont see it anywhere?

Seeing kib crumple to the ground, Kragg knows that Joan will be the next target with her flight of arrows. To this end Kragg positions himself in front of her to shield her from the barrage of boulders coming her way.if he can time it right, he can move out of her way to give her a free shot just to jump back in front after the arrows have left. Somebody get Kib up. Don't need another one dying here.

Until something changes Kragg plans on moving out for his move action then ready an action to move back in front providing Joan cover every round.

Gallak waits to see if Nar can reach Kib.

I added the giant on the map. There is a six foot high door with a window over the top. It appears the giant is happy to stay behind the door. Giant will go tomorrow.

Another one of Joan's arrows strikes true, doing what would be significant damage to the giant if he was a 'normal' human. But this giant is made of tough stuff.

Magnum throws the hammer at the giant. The hammer hums as it moves toward the giant singing in dwarvish "Death to giants".

hit/damage: 1d20 + 5 - 2 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 5 - 2 + 8 = 232d6 + 1d4 + 9 ⇒ (6, 5) + (1) + 9 = 21

Unfortunately the hammer glances off the giant's helmet narrowly missing penetrating his natural hide. Although the giant does not understand dwarvish, he turns his attention to the human ranger recognizing the hammer as a threat.

Round 2 Hon

Round 2 Summary/crunch:
Pito the gnoll moved out of way fast, two big rocks just jetted out of the bunker where Pito was talking. Hon fast stealths to the door. Stealth 1d20 + 8 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 8 + 5 = 33 He’ll inspect the door, if it has gaps to look/listen for details Perception1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14, verify locked or barred, decide on course of action for round three, probably open door or “Ready action: toss Alchemist Fire”. He has two remaining Alchemist Fires he just might toss depending on circumstances.

Observing Pito skitter out of the way, Hmmm that’s what a scared gnoll looks like., Hon sees two somethings fly out of the window above the door. The gnolls are huddling and whining in their barking tongue, what appears to be a bellowing giant on the inside of the bunker. He does the fastest duck crouch Kragg ever saw then flattens himself alongside the wall adjacent to the door. The Owl’s stealth cloak allowing Hon to first mimic a rolling boulder, then a roughly hewn wall of the bunker. So I get to meet my first giant, likely barred from the inside, and my crowbar sits on the bridge. How inconvenient. Hon inspects the door and listens for another occupant of the room. Hon reaches to one of his pouches as he peaks along the door sill.

Nar rushes to Kib, but the gnome is fatally wounded. The two stones having induced massive bleeding from his small mouth. Two wands are still clutched in his hands.

Khazad yells in rage and rushes the giant in the doorway. His charge carries him right up to the door and he bravely swings Durnaxe in an overhand blow trying to hit the much taller giant. His blow is ineffective as the giant hide seems to be as good as full plate armor.

As Khazad's head disappears inside, his feet continue to struggle. The axe drops to the ground at the foot of the door.

The axe yells in anger from the ground:

The human ranger watches the hammer return to his throwing hand: "Khazad's big a$$ is blocking my shot with the hammer. What do we do?"

Now we take the fight directly to him.

With that Kragg marches forward redy to deliver death to the over sized giant who has slain two of his comrades. Unfortunately his aim is off and his attack bounces off the side of the door frame.

Khazad's continues to curse and struggle, so he is grappled and highly upset. Kragg's blow misses and the giant curses the dwarves in his native tongue.

Gallak rips the bandolier of Wands from the gnome and drapes them haphazardly about himself. Drawing one, he points it at the flailing Khazad, intoning words of a language long dead.
Continue Inspire Courage +2, cast Enlarge Person. It will take effect halfway through my turn next round.
Quick note: if you're killing off characters that aren't playing anymore, I'll meta a little and instead mirror image Kragg.

Sorry misread the thread, didn't realize it was the next turn already. Swinging to commence.

Now the same size, relatively as the giant, Kragg starts swinging his urgrosh with a fury. If he doesn't take the giant down first all the damage Kragg inflicts on the wall might make it come down instead burying the giant and Kragg together.

Slashing attack 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
Damage 2d6 + 11 ⇒ (1, 5) + 11 = 17
Piecing attack 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
Damage 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13

Wow higher damage totals than to hit totals

The giant seems to attack Kragg repeatedly with his bare hands. Kragg is trained to fight giants, and takes advantage of the cover of the door. Kragg is considered +8AC for these two factors total.

giant full attack:
strike1/2/3: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (8) + 19 = 271d8 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 131d20 + 19 ⇒ (18) + 19 = 371d8 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 131d20 + 19 ⇒ (14) + 19 = 332d6 + 13 ⇒ (1, 3) + 13 = 17

The brutal flurry from the giant who seems to prefer his bare hands to a weapon leaves Kragg bleeding from massive wounds on the floor. He finishes with a two handed strike with both hands. The single opponent is by far the most formidable the dwarves have faced.

Magnum throws the hammer hoping to score another hit on the giant.
hit/damage: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (12) + 13 = 251d4 + 2d6 + 9 ⇒ (2) + (5, 4) + 9 = 20

Fort giant: 1d20 ⇒ 13

The giant quickly recovers from the hammer blow and refuses to be stunned by the massive impact the hammer delivers. He bellows at Joan in common, "I have the advantage here. Beg for mercy, and I will not crush you with a rock like the runty one."

Kragg takes 43 hp total. I adjusted after realizing he could only do three attacks total.

Male dwarf Cleric 7 Holy Vindicator 1 hp 61. saves 10/4/13 AC 23/11/23 Current:28

All the attacks are at full attack value without iteratives being less? If not then I believe tht last two should miss. Also does he provoke AOO for not having a weapon?

Joan's arrow miss the giant behind the door, and the web fills the alcove and door, grabbing onto the ceiling and floor.

Web now added to map. DC13 reflex to avoid. CM or escape artist checks (DC13) to escape as a standard.

Kragg is conscious and prone. The cover of the door allows him to stand without provoking. But, DC13 reflex first to avoid web. Unfortunately the web will provide the giant some significant cover from missiles, but will definitely keep him busy.

web:

School conjuration (creation); Level sorcerer/wizard 2

Casting Time 1 standard action

Components V, S, M (spider web)

Range medium (100 ft. + 10 ft./level)

Effect webs in a 20-ft.-radius spread

Duration 10 min./level (D)

Saving Throw Reflex negates; see text; Spell Resistance no

Web creates a many-layered mass of strong, sticky strands. These strands trap those caught in them. The strands are similar to spiderwebs but far larger and tougher. These masses must be anchored to two or more solid and diametrically opposed points or else the web collapses upon itself and disappears. Creatures caught within a web become grappled by the sticky fibers. Attacking a creature in a web doesn't cause you to become grappled.

Anyone in the effect's area when the spell is cast must make a Reflex save. If this save succeeds, the creature is inside the web but is otherwise unaffected. If the save fails, the creature gains the grappled condition, but can break free by making a combat maneuver check or Escape Artist check as a standard action against the DC of this spell. The entire area of the web is considered difficult terrain. Anyone moving through the webs must make a combat maneuver check or Escape Artist check as part of their move action, with a DC equal to the spell's DC. Creatures that fail lose their movement and become grappled in the first square of webbing that they enter.

If you have at least 5 feet of web between you and an opponent, it provides cover. If you have at least 20 feet of web between you, it provides total cover.

The strands of a web spell are flammable. A flaming weapon can slash them away as easily as a hand brushes away cobwebs. Any fire can set the webs alight and burn away one 5-foot square in 1 round. All creatures within flaming webs take 2d4 points of fire damage from the flames.

Web can be made permanent with a permanency spell. A permanent web that is damaged (but not destroyed) regrows in 10 minutes.
