I'm a little confused on one point and I'm hoping you can clarify. I, albeit a little nervously, have applied my credits on the transition page to Pathfinder. Since I get 4 issues, does that mean I would get the players guide or do I have to do something else as well? The text indicates I would get it, but it isn't terribly clear on this point. I really hope I do as I would love to get the first couple of issues before committing to more.
I appreciate the fact that the best minds in the game and also the people most passionately committed to it are here at Paizo and that is why I want to give it a chance. I really respect how you guys are handling things.
Thanks for your help.

You have to actually commit to the month-to-month subscription (not just use Dungeon and Dragon credit) to have Charter Subscriber status (and to get the Player's Guide free).
Keep in mind, though, that PDFs of the Player's Guide will be available for free to everyone, and copies of the print edition may be ordered separately by anyone.

In an email I received from Jeff Alarez, I was told that if I "transitioned" my remaining subscriptions I would get the Player's Guide as well. So who's right?
Yes, if you choose Pathfinder you will receive the players guide too.

When opting to receive issues of Pathfinder with unused credit, there is an option which allows one to continue to receive the publication on a month-to-month basis once their credit runs out. This is the situation I was referring to when I asked if he'd also receive the Player's Guide.

If you elect to add the month-to-month subscription, either by checking the box on the transition page or by adding it to your cart and checking out, you're a Charter Pathfinder Subscriber (and you'll see that next to your name here on the boards). You'll also be getting a free copy of the Player's Guide.
If you just transition issues to Pathfinder, you don't get the Player's Guide (and are identified only as a Pathfinder Subscriber here on the boards).
Jeff was mistaken about you getting the Player's Guide just by transitioning remaining issues. However, we'll be making a PDF version available for free to everyone, subscriber or not.

Here's a question...
Can I choose to transition more of my existing Dungeon subscription to Pathfinder? Basically, instead of getting issues #147 through #150, could I apply more credit to my Pathfinder subscription?
It's taking way too long for the DUNGEON Magazines to get to me. Thus, I'd prefer to move over completely to Pathfinder for my remaining subscription amount.
This way, I can buy the remaining DUNGEON Magazines for the Savage Tide Adventure Path from my FLGS, and get more of Pathfinder.
Cheers!

Will you open up Pathfinder to a year long subscription? I prefer getting magazines that way.
1) It's a book, with new volumes released monthly, not a magazine. :-)
2) I'm not involved in that decision-making process, but I seriously doubt that we would do annual subscriptions for Pathfinder for a whole host of reasons.

The most notable of which I'm sure is the "sticker shock" factor. It's one thing to advertise something as "$20 a month!" but quite another to say "Only $240 a year!"
I do marketing for insurance. I understand.

How much will each issue cost with shipping if you subscribe month to month? How much is it without the month to month discount?
Each issue is 30% off with the subscription—that's $13.99 plus shipping. Standard shipping is $4 in the US, and $5 everywhere else. In the US you can also select UPS ground, 2nd day air or next day shipping at additional cost.
Also, if you subscribe you get the PDF of each volume for free. (Otherwise, the PDF is $13.99.)

17.99 a month for an adventure is a little steep considering Dungeon and Dragon magazines cost a combined 6.66 a month if you have subscriptions to both magazines. It might be wise to offer a bundling option for people to get the volumes on a quarterly, semi annual, or even annual basis to save on shipping. Frankly, I get the feeling that you'll be able to sell the first series and that the rest will wind up as Game Master specials or modules. If anything this is Paizo's way of attempting to get former subscribers used to the Game Mastery products and format in the hopes of building business with a new model. I'm not knocking it as I think it will work and I believe that the game mastery products are of a far higher quality then anything WOTC puts out. I;m just conerned that the price is high and the product is not as close in content to what Dragon and Dungeon originally offered to create a sustainable business.

We'd really, really prefer you didn't... but if you really, really want to, we can probably do it.

Hmm, I'll think about it. I was really upset because my copy of issue #145 hadn't arrived yet. But then it arrived and I calmed down a bit. :)

Okay, I had signed up for the Pathfinder month-to-month subscription and also transitioned my remaining Dragon/Dungeon issues into it (which gives me 4 free issues). Now I was charged for the first month already. Will I be getting 2-5 on credit then?
Just want to make sure I'm not getting double charged, thanks.

I looked at your order and you will be credited back the extra charge by the end of the week. You will not be double-charged.
