Okay, so this is the thread that we'll use to discuss items outside of character that should be handled here. Essentially anything that is not an action, dice roll, or action result should end up here. That way something doesn't distract the gameplay thread and we end up having 3 pages of something not resulting about gameplay, well, in the game play thread lol.

That shouldn't be a problem.

I hope it's OK by you that I swapped the Multitalented Racial Trait for Arcane training. It is here in the PRD-APG :) Basically it lets her Wands and Spells kick a little harder :)APG Racial Traits

Otherwise, looking forward to this!

Yea, should be fine with me. Okay, so now that I know the discussion thread is showing, I'll go ahead and ask the questions I typically ask before a campaign. You can answer them all at once or we can discuss them, though I would like to try and have this game started by Wednesday if that's okay with y'all. Anyways, on with the questions.

1) How do you want me to track your progress? I still do track XP obviously, but do you want me to tell you after each encounter what you earned, or just keep track myself and let you know when it's time to level?

2) Treasure is nice. Do you just want to track it as a group. do you want individual cuts, or do you want to role play a system out?

3) We're not always invincible, and bad rolls happen. I don't aim to try and downright kill a character off, but death can occur, so how do you want to deal with it? Write a new character at same level, at APL, level lower than previous character, or if the player wants to back out then find someone else? Of course this only applies if the character is refused to have a revival.

4) What do you feel that you can actually maintain in posting frequency? I know I can do at least once every 2 days, but I try for as often as I can, but I don't know about you guys and your schedule. What's something to expect before hand so that if something's wrong, we can try and figure it out.

5) Last question, and this is a big one. Although I know a few of you are already familiar with this AP, but if you don't fully remember, then let me remind you. This AP starts off a little dark but down the road gets real dark and gritty, and as a true horror fan, I love the hell out of it. However I obviously can't speak for your tastes. Would you rather me keep it as clean as I can to keep the story moving forward, ease the amount of intensity until we find that level of "Okay, too intense at this point", or do we think that this group is mature enough to handle the statement of "Bring on the sex, blood, and gore!!!"? I'm fine with all three, and am capable of toning it down. If the third option is chosen though, I will warn you that I will be as graphic as I can when it comes to the gory bits, NPC's will have colorful language from time to time (which means that if anything said is actually extremely offensive to you IRL, let me know and it won't happen again), and sex very well could (and may depending on circumstance) come into play. As for going graphic with the sex I won't do (this isn't a porno after all). If that occurs, I'll handle all the "behind the door stuff" and inform you of anything bad that happens.

Manifest: 12/12|Female Drow Spiritualist (Fractured Mind) 9|HP: 45/63|AC: 22/14/17|Saves: +7 Fort, +6 Ref, +8 Will (+10 w/Spirit, +2 vs. enchantment, +4 vs. mind-affecting w/Spirit)|Init: +3|Perc: +14

1. You can tell us what we earned after each encounter.

2. I have no real opinion with regards to treasure distribution; any option is fine by me.

3. If I die at low level, I'll just build a new character at the same level. If I die at a mid to high level (levels 5-14), bring me back to life!

4. I lurk on the forums pretty often, so you can expect quite a few posts from me. Usually about 4-5 a day, if nothing else comes up.

5. I'm fine with whatever level of gore/sex/violence the rest of the group is comfortable with.

Male Halfling Fighter(Cad)/Unchained Rogue | 15/15 HP | 17 AC | 11 Touch | 14 FF | 14 CMD | Fort 5 | Ref 4 | Will 1 | Init 3 | Perception 6 | CS

1. Whichever you would prefer is cool with me, you keeping track would be nice so I don't screw up some math and not level when I am supposed to, but at the same time I know it would be more work for you.

2. Role playing it out would be nice, but I know it is kind of a hassle to do online, what we could do is whoever finds it gets to pass it out, as long as everyone agrees, or just make a google doc, and put all of the treasure in it, people can claim items, and then gold can be split up accordingly.

3. I would be fine with whatever, if people that didn't make it were still interested, it would be cool to let them in, if they don't want in I would say come in at APL.

4. I can do 1 or more times a day except on weekends, some weekends I can post a lot, some weekend I am super busy, and don't have time to post.

5. I'm all for bring on the sex, blood and gore, but I don't want to force anyone into that if they feel uncomfortable, because I have played with players where that stuff makes them uncomfortable, and then they aren't having any fun, which means everyone else is having less fun.

Female Half Elf Sorcerer (Starsoul) 1 | HP 8 | AC 12 FF 10 T12 | Saves +2/+2/+3 | Init + 8 | Percep +3

1) Just tell me when it's time :) Or, post a running total in the Campaign tab.

2) Loot is loot. Let us know what we find and we will figure out the best uses for it.

3) In general, just replace with a level appropriate alt. WBL is tricky; an 8th level *built* PC will have significantly 'better' loot (ie, all the right items...) than a *grown* PC that has acquired loot over time. I think a good compromise is for the GM to roll the new PC's loot, item by item until it reaches 1/2 the WBL. That way, the loot has some organic feel to it and there is no big draw to 'reroll to get the right gear' :)

4) I can post several times a day and would prefer that pace :) Slower is doable, so, no worries

5) in game darkness? Did you read my original submission's background. Scare me. If you can :) Of course, we don't need to get into details of 'adult talk' or how many grams of guts are spread on the walls ;) I am a fan of Horror Movies, not Slashers. Draw the picture, let the audience creep itself out :D

It seems 1 is on the same level, 2 has a few ideas, 3 may be something to figure out later, 4 should be fine, and 5 could make things interesting. And don't worry Vanya, it wouldn't be new style "How many new ways can we kill people" style, think more back to late 70's, early 80's. My favorite masters are King, Barker, Romero, and Craven. All four have a distinct style and I like to incorporate them in different mixes as I can.

Female Half Elf Sorcerer (Starsoul) 1 | HP 8 | AC 12 FF 10 T12 | Saves +2/+2/+3 | Init + 8 | Percep +3

oh, for what it's worth, I am familiar with the adventure to a degree. I have played through to the beginning of pt4, and the game fell apart (damn you, real life!) And I am currently in a game, just starting pt2. Both groups were on tabletop. I just remember that the game is more fun when you let go and let it play than 'try to win' :)

Referencing SAW CLXXII? Junk movies. I have seen the first one, said, "Yawn. Seven was a better version of the same 'morality' play, plus it had better actors..."

Manifest: 12/12|Female Drow Spiritualist (Fractured Mind) 9|HP: 45/63|AC: 22/14/17|Saves: +7 Fort, +6 Ref, +8 Will (+10 w/Spirit, +2 vs. enchantment, +4 vs. mind-affecting w/Spirit)|Init: +3|Perc: +14

With regards to horror, I prefer Slender or Amnesia style to Dead Space or Resident Evil style.

Lol yea, I can't stand the Saw movies. They're just too... well... There's really nothing to them in my opinion. I think this one relates more to a King or Koontz type mystery style, but it's got a few touches of Barker with some hints of Carpenter every now and then, but that's just kind of what I feel.

1. I don't mind either way. Just let me know what works best for you.

2. I've been in groups where everything went party, items people could use where passed out and then the rest sold and we split it even with the leftover staying in the party pot, and I've been in some where it's finder's keepers. Roleplaying it out could be fun, though a google document could be one of the better ways to handle this.

3. Depends on how things happened, though I would prefer to be revived. If I had to though, I'd build a new character. I say if someone drops, we check with those who tried to get in first, before we open it up to others.

4. I try to post at least once a day, and can often do more during the week depending on how busy the day gets. Weekends can be iffy for me but most of the time I am able to give at least one post on those days.

5. Bring it on! Like Jack, I do not wish to force anyone into that if they feel uncomfortable, but I do enjoy some good horror. Though I'm not a Slasher-style fan. I'm more a Paranormal/Supernatural fan. Fatal Frame is one of my favorite series. I also have watched WAY to many crime dramas/Thrillers.

EDIT: And I'll go fill in my alias profile. Didn't have time to do that last night before I had to crash for work.

So.. Looks like everything I would have said has been said by others already. :)

Here I am!

1)XP-I think you should just tell us when to level. It lets you decide when the group is ready. That way if you need to adjust encounters, add a few whatever, we won't power through all of them because we are super awesome. In other words, the AP assumes we are X level, but we've been rolling through the encounters and maybe you need to slow us down some, fine, none of us are screaming WE ARE LEVEL X now!!!11one. But if you want to give us XP and allow us to keep track, I won't complain.

2)To me, loot allows the party to grow. I can see the point of reducing the loot for someone who gets awesome loot (some sort of zero-sum loot system) but at the same time, I see value in Hey the wizard/rogue/whatever got a cool item, that makes them more powerful, yay for us. In the end, as long as all of us are getting the cool items here and there, I think we are okay.

3)Death is a real part of the game, if there is no chance of death, why play, we can just say, eventually we win. Game over. I'd prefer to stay close to the level the group is, so if resurrection isn't a viable option, I'd just as soon create a new character.

4) I can post most of the time many times a day. I have a tablet with access to the site most of the day. There may be times I am silent, but most of the time, I'll at least post once a day, even weekends. I am in the process of getting approved for a home loan and looking for a house to buy, so there's that.

5)Dark and evil is needed to show the good and right. Bring on the death and destruction and such. I am in my mid-40s, so I am a big boy, I can handle the evil that lurks behind every corner.

I added a link in my profile to the MythWeavers sheet, I think I filled out all the right squares. I can also send you the Hero Lab pdf, if you'd like to check it against the Mythweavers one.

DM KLS, could I just use the character sheet I set up on DnD Sheets?

Well that went much easier than expected lol. So here's what I gather:

1) I'll keep track of XP and keep an eye on when you guys should level (give or take 100 XP or so) that way things don't get too easy or too hard.

2) It won't be a major issue right off the bat but I figure you guys will figure out in game what to do, so until then I'll just keep track of what you guys earn total so that if you split it, I can tell you what the amount is, if not then there's already a list.

3) If revival doesn't seem plausible, then I suppose we'll have a clearer dictation of what to do if the time comes for what needs to happen.

4) Seems like we should stay fairly active throughout the week then, so when major events pop up, such as a move, we'll figure out what will happen for the character or party, depending on the time needed to miss and where at in the story we are.

5) Awesome, I don't have to hold back lol. This should be fun story to run then. Just remember, if I step my bounds too much, let me know so I don't cause any offensive hell.

Unless there's anything else you guys want to discuss before hand, if not tonight then tomorrow morning I'll have the gameplay thread up and we'll get this thing rolling!

Artemis: Thanks for letting me know.

Cian: I suppose that should fine. It doesn't look messy as hell like some things I've seen.

Forgot to mention as well, if there's anything that needs to be done before we start character wise, now's the time to get it wrapped up, which means get your gear in order, spell lists, etc. And don't forget about the gold thing Jack lol.

Is there a universal way we will end up in sandpoint? or will we just all end up there by our various ways?

Universal way is that you're in Sandpoint the day of the festival or arriving about mid day. Whatever your reasons are fine, but you'll end up being in Sandpoint at the festival in the afternoon somehow.

Vanya sits uneasy on the wagon's front seat. The road from Riddleport to Magnimar was quite a long one, when traveled by land. In a wistful voice the waif says to the driver, "Wouldn't flying be faster?" The view over the bay is beautiful: close to the coast is a wispy fog, fading into the azure waters and in the distance Vanya is sure she can see a flock of gulls on their wings.

Eventually Sandpoint comes into view. Dramatic only in it's plain-ness. Turning to the driver that for some reason always seemed annoyed, Vanya asks, "Isn't today the Swallow's Nails Festival you and Groetus were speaking of earlier?" Without waiting for a reply she sighs and looks up... not a cloud today. Soon, I can find out why mother could never talk about this part of her past.

Once inside the town, she dismounts the wagon and walks into the nearest bar. She thinks that maybe Groetus or one of the other guards called to her, but, whatever. The air in the tavern is charged with hectic energy. No one is sitting, in fact all of the chairs are missing! Even the tables are stacked one on another. A work crew carrying one of the tables bumps into her, [b]"Beggin' yer pardon, ma'am!" as they lumber past.

Suddenly it dawns on her, The whole town is a-buzz! This Swallowed Tail is a big deal! She smiles to herself and steps back into the street to be absorbed by the town's mood.

No rp though. I thought you meant what brought you there lol.

Jack has been in Sandpoint for a few days now. In that time I've met one of the more famous locals, and gotten myself thrown in jail. That cost me most of my money. Knowing that I have little gold left for drink, food, or even to stay at the inn, Jack gears up and starts looking for work.

He is drawn to the town square where there are a lot of people for some reason, since Jack has no idea there is a festival today.

Manifest: 12/12|Female Drow Spiritualist (Fractured Mind) 9|HP: 45/63|AC: 22/14/17|Saves: +7 Fort, +6 Ref, +8 Will (+10 w/Spirit, +2 vs. enchantment, +4 vs. mind-affecting w/Spirit)|Init: +3|Perc: +14

Triel would have arrived in town just as the festival was about to begin; that is, to say, at about midday. She'd have gotten there by one of the smaller trading caravans going to Sandpoint this time of year, making sure she kept her face concealed by her helmet the whole time.

It wouldn't take her long to figure out from all the people running around that some sort of celebration is being put together in town. It sounds like the perfect place to get lost in, so she decided to head for the town square, where everyone is at their busiest. Triel makes a point of remaining on the outer perimeter of all the activity, so she can take off running if her cover is blown.

Quick question: how familiar would Sandpoint's locals be with drow reputation?

I originally said 'rumors' when I meant reputation.

I'm gonna go more with the brutality rumors over beautiful and sexuality as the last two are pretty much unheard of in Varisa.

It was dark, with a fire for warmth and light, clear starry skies made this night a traveler delight. Wagons were parked and situated for the night surrounding the campgrounds. Occasionally the sound of a snore or an animal interrupted the music that filled the air.The music was soft, and melodic. It was like a lullaby was being played, or maybe even a serenade. Perhaps it was a serenade to the moon. Alone she stood, eyes closed entranced in her song as she played for herself and the moon. The rest of the caravan was already asleep, prepared to make an early start in the morning. They had a long day of travel ahead.

As the fiddle sang it’s story, Ithylia lost herself to the music. She had joined the Merchant Caravan in Nybor after hearing that one of their destinations was Sandpoint. They had stopped a week ago in Wyrtle to pick up furs. Soon she would be to Sandpoint. Her family had told her of an old family friend there. She had been drifting her way towards Sandpoint since she had left her family years ago. She had taken her time, wanting to see the land that made up her beautiful home. Soon she would be to Sandpoint, soon.

Letting her bow draw the final note, she let it dissipate into the air. With a smile she, lowered her fiddle. Her private concert over.

”Soon”

Once there, who knew where her wanderings would lead her.

I wrote Ithylia's reason for heading there and her means of transportation there more as a story than a Synopsis. She would arrive at Sandpoint a day or two before the festival, or perhaps even morning of the festival.

So if you're able to post in a few hours, be prepared because I'll be able to start tonight, but it won't be the way it typically starts. I saw an interesting idea I wanted to throw at you guys to make things a little more interesting.
