Male Human Paladin 1

We can work with that. Give her a short sword and she can be blunt or piercing damage. Rotomo might wven be able to use her as a spear.

There's a tactics read for you: How to one hand a rogue and other sneak attack weapons.

Female Halfling Rogue 2 | HP 1/13 | AC 17 T15 FF13 | Fort +1 Ref +8 Will +0 | CMB +1 CMD 15 | Init +4 Per +6 | 11 Arrows

The "Prisbuchet"?

Alternatively, take reduce person and she can launch INTO somebody and chestburst her way back out.

HP: 62 (62) | AC: 19/23; T: 15; FF: 16/20 | Saves: Fort: +7; Ref: +7; Will: +8 | CMB: +10; CMD: 24 | Init: +4 Spell Slots: (4) / 6 (6) / 5 (5) / 3 (3) / 2 (2) | Arcane Reservoir: 15 (15)

In all seriousness, I will likely take reduce person since it doesn't hurt me in the slightest.

Priscilla, remember that you can only move at half-speed when trying to use stealth. For a halfling, that's just 10' per move action, without incurring a penalty of -5 on the check. If readying the bow is a Move Action (no +1 BAB just yet), moving 2 diagonal squares is actually 15'. I'll allow it this time, even if you took the penalty, you'd still have a fine roll -- just keep it mind for future use of sneaking about. Stealth is also impossible to do once in plain sight, but given the milling crowd, distance, and multiple intervening distractions, I can see it happening here.

Female Halfling Rogue 2 | HP 1/13 | AC 17 T15 FF13 | Fort +1 Ref +8 Will +0 | CMB +1 CMD 15 | Init +4 Per +6 | 11 Arrows

Argh, sorry about that, I completely forgot about the "small creatures have a lower move speed" thing, I will keep it in mind for the future. I also assumed that the crowd might be a good enough distraction for her to stealth, would you prefer me to confirm in the future that there's cover to stealth around in? I definitely don't want to undermine you as a GM haha

No worries, first fight means working some kinks out. Just use your judgement about stealth, I agree you can make it work in the crowd (same reason Alden can't charge).

Not sure I have mentioned the 24-hr rule to this group, but if more than 24 hours passes in combat (or other times when a response is required from you), I will bot you to keep the action moving forward. If you know you will miss time, do us the courtesy of letting us know, especially in combat rounds.

I am waiting on Alden to see if he wants the double-move no attack option or some other plan, he is on the clock.

Male Human Paladin 1

I changed the action in an edit last night after you said something. If you were waiting on me... you don't have to.

Alden Vas Hett wrote:

Oh, my bad. I missed that the post had been edited. On with the show!

Male Human Paladin 1

Oh my God I might have actually hit something...

Female Halfling Rogue 2 | HP 1/13 | AC 17 T15 FF13 | Fort +1 Ref +8 Will +0 | CMB +1 CMD 15 | Init +4 Per +6 | 11 Arrows

That was what, a streak of seven attack rolls of 10 or less? This party is definitely cursed.

Priscilla Bere wrote:

To be fair, I think the goblins rolled just about as poorly when they attacked. The dice turned decidedly hotter this round, it appears.

Initial Assault - Post Combat Summary

Defeated: 3 goblin warriors. They are worth 135xp each, which means a total of 101xp per player for defeating them. Since we are on fast advancement track for the AP, 101/1300 is 8% towards next level.

Wounded
NONE - nicely done!

Resources Used
Claudia - 2 Magic Missiles cast; still 2 level 1 spells remain.
Priscilla - threw one dagger which can be recovered if mentioned
Rotomo - none
Alden - none

I show you the XP as a way of approximating advancement not as an absolute for leveling purposes. I will have you level up at appropriate places, but keeping track of XP's is throwback, and it lets you know about where you stand. It can also tell you something about the relative difficulty of the combats.

Female Halfling Rogue 2 | HP 1/13 | AC 17 T15 FF13 | Fort +1 Ref +8 Will +0 | CMB +1 CMD 15 | Init +4 Per +6 | 11 Arrows

...I think the game is telling me not to be a fully ranged rogue. I might look into TWF after I get into shadowdancer. Because wow, these dice rolls.

It'll turn, eventutally...

Male Human Paladin 1

Claudia is kicking ass with magic missile. If it wasn't for her we'd be giving the first group colds still. Maybe we should all look into fighter levels, LoL

HP: 62 (62) | AC: 19/23; T: 15; FF: 16/20 | Saves: Fort: +7; Ref: +7; Will: +8 | CMB: +10; CMD: 24 | Init: +4 Spell Slots: (4) / 6 (6) / 5 (5) / 3 (3) / 2 (2) | Arcane Reservoir: 15 (15)

Lol silly paladin, you don't gain more spells with fighter levels =P

As for Magic Missile, this level and next are really the levels at which it is likely to be a one hit kill. After that, pointy sticks start to hedge it out, and also...I'm almost out of them. I just have my arcane bond left.

Male Human Paladin 1

Being a magic user has a slower, but steeper, climb in awesome. Phenomenal cosmic power and all that. Pris and I just have to be useful until you and Rotomo can drop demigods with a swift action.

Female Halfling Rogue 2 | HP 1/13 | AC 17 T15 FF13 | Fort +1 Ref +8 Will +0 | CMB +1 CMD 15 | Init +4 Per +6 | 11 Arrows

The whole point of being a martial is protecting your casters until they get 5th level spells, then you just hang out and count gold while they spam death spells from above!

HP: 62 (62) | AC: 19/23; T: 15; FF: 16/20 | Saves: Fort: +7; Ref: +7; Will: +8 | CMB: +10; CMD: 24 | Init: +4 Spell Slots: (4) / 6 (6) / 5 (5) / 3 (3) / 2 (2) | Arcane Reservoir: 15 (15)

I'm actually planning on mostly taking buff spells, since as one punch man points out, having absolute strength is really boring.

Expect Heroisms, and hastes to abound.

Female Halfling Rogue 2 | HP 1/13 | AC 17 T15 FF13 | Fort +1 Ref +8 Will +0 | CMB +1 CMD 15 | Init +4 Per +6 | 11 Arrows

(And maybe a little greater invisibility or two for your little friend?)

I mean realistically I'm just going to hang back and have my shadow do all the fighting for me once I hit that level lol

Male Human Paladin 1

...maybe I should invest more steeply in a better weapon, then. Like a bastard sword or a greatsword or an anti-air canon.

Human (Shoanti) Druid 1 | HP 9/13 | AC 17 T13 FF14 | CMB +4| CMD 16 | F +3| R +2 | W +4 | Init +2 Per +6

All, I will be on the road today and will be unable to post until this evening (about 14 hours from now) and might be exhausted then so bot me if necessary.

Female Halfling Rogue 2 | HP 1/13 | AC 17 T15 FF13 | Fort +1 Ref +8 Will +0 | CMB +1 CMD 15 | Init +4 Per +6 | 11 Arrows

This entire damn combat, I swear...

(not that I'm at all not having fun with this game, it's just amazing how consistently low these rolls have been.)

Male Human Paladin 1

Yeah... it's rolls like this that remind us to gear towards hitting on anything above a 1. But then again Bards are kind of like cockroaches. You can never quite reach them to stomp them.

HP: 62 (62) | AC: 19/23; T: 15; FF: 16/20 | Saves: Fort: +7; Ref: +7; Will: +8 | CMB: +10; CMD: 24 | Init: +4 Spell Slots: (4) / 6 (6) / 5 (5) / 3 (3) / 2 (2) | Arcane Reservoir: 15 (15)

They are way too good for their own good.

Human (Shoanti) Druid 1 | HP 9/13 | AC 17 T13 FF14 | CMB +4| CMD 16 | F +3| R +2 | W +4 | Init +2 Per +6

Now I remember why I enjoyed playing bards. Hopefully our rolls start to get better.... Hopefully...

HP: 62 (62) | AC: 19/23; T: 15; FF: 16/20 | Saves: Fort: +7; Ref: +7; Will: +8 | CMB: +10; CMD: 24 | Init: +4 Spell Slots: (4) / 6 (6) / 5 (5) / 3 (3) / 2 (2) | Arcane Reservoir: 15 (15)

They can't get much worse.

Human (Shoanti) Druid 1 | HP 9/13 | AC 17 T13 FF14 | CMB +4| CMD 16 | F +3| R +2 | W +4 | Init +2 Per +6

True, I've rolled a 1 twice in this combat. Twice! Arrggh!

Male Human Paladin 1

Now as statistically impossible as it sounds I was in a tabletop with a guy who didn't roll a hit in combat for 2 months straight. Different dice, rolled with different hands, used dice cups: Nothing fixed it. Till one day he hit. There was much cheering for that meager 7 damage he did.

Goblin Pyros - Post Combat Summary

Defeated: 3 goblin warriors, 1 goblin warchanter. The xp total earned for defeating them is 152 per player. That makes cumulative total 253/1300 is 19% towards next level.

Wounded
Rotomo - 4/13hp left
Alden - 10/12hp left

Resources Used
Claudia - 2 Magic Missiles cast; all non-cantrips used
Priscilla - threw one dagger which can be recovered if mentioned
Rotomo - none
Alden - none

Female Halfling Rogue 2 | HP 1/13 | AC 17 T15 FF13 | Fort +1 Ref +8 Will +0 | CMB +1 CMD 15 | Init +4 Per +6 | 11 Arrows

Here's a graph of the PC attack rolls over those two combats (including critical confirmation rolls) for prosperity - ~27% of the 29 attack rolls were 11-20, with the rest being 1-10. If these odds even out, we are going to STEAMROLL the next combat.

Male Human Paladin 1

Hrm... can we find a bard who doesn't mind being our mobile buff-machine...

HP: 62 (62) | AC: 19/23; T: 15; FF: 16/20 | Saves: Fort: +7; Ref: +7; Will: +8 | CMB: +10; CMD: 24 | Init: +4 Spell Slots: (4) / 6 (6) / 5 (5) / 3 (3) / 2 (2) | Arcane Reservoir: 15 (15)

We're still a bit low level for leadership.

Male Human Paladin 1

Never too low level to bribe an NPC, though?

I must travel for work tomorrow. I don't expect it to interfere with my usual evening posts, but if I miss for some reason, will pick up on Tuesday.

Male Human Paladin 1

Or we could buy a Singing Sword. But that is a little creepy, if you ask me.

Female Halfling Rogue 2 | HP 1/13 | AC 17 T15 FF13 | Fort +1 Ref +8 Will +0 | CMB +1 CMD 15 | Init +4 Per +6 | 11 Arrows

Pris could dip a level for that sweet, sweet +1 morale bonus :P Clearly being a cheerleader is her calling since she's only hit one shot today... (not counting the archery contest)

...But an intelligent sword sounds way cooler. It can sing songs of our triumphs!

HP: 62 (62) | AC: 19/23; T: 15; FF: 16/20 | Saves: Fort: +7; Ref: +7; Will: +8 | CMB: +10; CMD: 24 | Init: +4 Spell Slots: (4) / 6 (6) / 5 (5) / 3 (3) / 2 (2) | Arcane Reservoir: 15 (15)

I think that once we get over the level 1 hump we should be okay.

Female Halfling Rogue 2 | HP 1/13 | AC 17 T15 FF13 | Fort +1 Ref +8 Will +0 | CMB +1 CMD 15 | Init +4 Per +6 | 11 Arrows

Agreed, level one has always been rough in my experience, except for barbarians and fighters. There just aren't enough options!

Male Human Paladin 1

I remember the last time I played a Barbarian he uprooted a tree and beat an elf to death with it (half elf who hated elves). And he was still upstaged all the time by the druid and the bard. Barbarians are beasts... but God carries a spell pouch.

Female Halfling Rogue 2 | HP 1/13 | AC 17 T15 FF13 | Fort +1 Ref +8 Will +0 | CMB +1 CMD 15 | Init +4 Per +6 | 11 Arrows

I always heard it, "Superman may be a barbarian, but Batman's a wizard."

Male Human Paladin 1

Sorry I haven't been around. My sister in law is in the hospital and I should be back around tomorrow. Hadn't thought to say anything until now, sorry.

Male Human Paladin 1

Sorry about the absence and delay. But I think I missed the best damage roll I could have ever made anyway.

I will be traveling for work M-TH this week. While I expect to be able to post in the evenings, it is possible that I get tied up instead. Will post as much as availability allows.

Well, we have to decide what to do about our abandoned paladin now that we are out of combat. I PM'ed him to say he can still rejoin until we find replacement player, but I expect that is unlikely.

part of the risk of running a four player table is the circumstance like this. Hard to proceed without a new player. Given the nature of PBP, I'd prefer to hire someone who is an experienced poster/player, and will open it to recommendations from you or those you know to fill the vacancy.

I do have a few players in other games that I might reach out to as well.

HP: 62 (62) | AC: 19/23; T: 15; FF: 16/20 | Saves: Fort: +7; Ref: +7; Will: +8 | CMB: +10; CMD: 24 | Init: +4 Spell Slots: (4) / 6 (6) / 5 (5) / 3 (3) / 2 (2) | Arcane Reservoir: 15 (15)

Okay, so since Alden left us, this is a really good time to have someone join the group, as we aren't all that far in and haven't super gelled as a group yet. If you have someone you think would fit our group well, DREVIL, by all means I would vote to invite them (maybe two players, just to be on the safe side?)

Human (Shoanti) Druid 1 | HP 9/13 | AC 17 T13 FF14 | CMB +4| CMD 16 | F +3| R +2 | W +4 | Init +2 Per +6

I don’t have anyone specific in mind.

Female Halfling Rogue 2 | HP 1/13 | AC 17 T15 FF13 | Fort +1 Ref +8 Will +0 | CMB +1 CMD 15 | Init +4 Per +6 | 11 Arrows

I don't think I have anyone specific in mind, either.
