Volkar, you are actually half of a turn ahead of things, but Andrezi's shot takes care of things and puts us back on track.

Andrezi makes a crack shot with his crossbow, dropping his target with a bolt through its eye! It lets out a squeak as it joins its brothers in death.

Volkar moves forward into the fray, while Kiera finishes off her spell, and with a flourish, sends out her magic at two of the goblins.
Will Save Purple: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (15) - 1 = 14
Will Save Green: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (18) - 1 = 17
Unfortunately, The Green clothed goblin resists the spell, and with a shake of his head, returns to the fight. The other goblin, however, is a different story, and drops to the ground, unconscious.

Daelric continues his gruesome charge through the room, taking Green out of the battle with a wide sweep of his ax.

The goblins finally react to the rampage that has halved their numbers, and they are not pleased. With a shriek, Light Blue turns on Daelric with a pair of tongs dripping in molten glass. Luckily, it misses.
Attack: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (14) - 1 = 13

Blue and Pink rush forward into the fight, screaming and pulling their little knives.

Volkar continued forward axe in hand as the goblin in front of him dropped to the floor. He moved past the hot furnaces with their heat pouring out into the massive shop. He watched one of the goblins ahead drop into a stupor and fall asleep. Kiera has worked her magic again, he thought to himself.

Kiera advances cautiously and launches a bolt of acid at the nearest goblin, while trying to use the table for cover.

|Ruins |WBGoblins|RotRL| Emerald Spire|

Sorry, wife had surgery on monday, and I have finals next week. I've been a tad bit distracted.

Daelric: Rather than have you move past a live goblin and receive an AOO, Lets just change that around and have you attack then move. If this is not kosher, Please let me know and we will roll with it your way. I just cant see Daelric moving past a goblin thats still on its feet!!

The party continues their onslaught, giving no quarter to the goblins and dropping them where they stand! This time, it takes the concerted efforts of three of the party to drop the blue goblin, but eventually it falls to the mighty ax hefted by Daelric. Volkar continues his rush into the battle.

Pink goblin slashes out at Daelric as he moves in close, giving him a nasty cut.
Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Blue goblin follows suit, bringing more molten glass with him! This time, he manages to get the dwarf, and the molten glass leaves some nasty burns on the stalwart dwarf!
Daelric, I misread this earlier.. the molten glass is actually against touch AC. Just an FYI if you question this attack vs the last attack that I called a miss.
Attack: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (18) - 1 = 17
Fire Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 4

Volkar rushed forward with his axe at the ready, but could not cover the distance in the needed to stop the goblin with the glob of molten glass at the end of a metal rod that he thrust at his fellow dwarf. The smell of glass, flesh, and heated metal filled the air as Volkar closed the distance and swung his axe at one of the two goblins engaging Daelric.

Kiera moves closer so that she can hurl another glob of acid at the goblin facing off against Volkar.

That's fine GMDD, I figured he was still asleep so he wasn't a huge threat and could be taken out last. This way works too though.

I grunt quietly as the first Goblin manages to get a small cut along my cheek, but the quiet grunt truns into a roar of anger and pain as the molten glass splashes on my face and hands. The smell of roasting flesh isn't pleasant to start with, but mix in the smell of burning Dwarven beard ... the smell is repulsive. With my face still being scarred from the viscous liquid I turn to face the Goblin that threw it. "RHARAR!"

I raise my axe up high and bring it down with all of my strength.

War-Axe Attack : 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 4 + 1 = 14

But as I bring it down, a globlet of molten glass drips down my chin and throat, causing me to give a little whimper and a big shudder and convulsion, which in turn makes my attack go astray.

Goblin:
"BA$TARD!"

Sorry if this ruins our chances of sneaking in, but I figured we are fighting, so the chance of stealth is minimal ... also I don't think anyone could taken molten glass and not scream out in pain.

In an attempt to make sure he does not get cut off from the rest of the group, Andrezi hustles up with the rest of the party.

Double move.

|Ruins |WBGoblins|RotRL| Emerald Spire|

Volkar and Kiera dispatch the goblin with the tongs, while Andrezi moves into battle and Daelric dances in pain. The goblin gives out a scream filled with frustration and terror before turning tail and running.

Goblin:

Unsure if others beyond Daelric have been injured in the rapid chaos of battle, Andrezi moves into a position in which he can reach all of his companions and calls out for the healing energies of his goddess.

Volkar approaches the prone, sleeping goblin and aids the green skin in entering a permanent, unending slumber as his axe renders a coup de gras.

coupdegras:
attack: 1d20 + 3 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 3 + 1 + 1 = 18 damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9 I recall that there is a set of straight forward rules for this, but I am rushing out the door this morning so wasn't able to look that up. I think this works just as well.

He continued forward and spoke aloud, "We need to keep moving as Amiko wasn't in here and what the green skins did to him can only bode ill for her."

|Ruins |WBGoblins|RotRL| Emerald Spire|

Volkar: you are pretty much right in your knowledge of a coup de grace. It takes a full round attack vs a helpless opponent and is an automatic crit. If the damage is not enough to kill outright, the creature gets a fort save or dies anyway. In this case, you killed it!

Daelric charges the last goblin down and it dies with screaming for help. The rest of the group catches up to Daelric, and Andrezi channels out a healing blessing from his gods.

Out of initiative.. what next, my intrepid explorers?

I let out a sigh of relief as Andrezi's prayers seem to sooth my pain as well as heal all of the damage dealt by the liquid glass, leaving only the small cut given to me by the first Goblin. I bow my head in thanks, and feel my beard to make sure that it is still presentable. I groan slightly as I find that some of the hair has been melted away, but save for fixing it until Ameiko is found and safely escorted home.

I walk up to the door and get ready to push them, but before pushing them open I turn to look at the others, "Any of you speak their tongue at all? The last one was referring to the attack on the town during the festival." Once everyone is ready, I then push open the doors.

Daelric was never meant to be a charger, especially as I planned for him to go down the Stalwart Defender route. Maybe a change of plan is needed, or he may find out in one battle that being stationary works better to protect his comrades?

The first time I tried to GM this part, the party stayed away from the "noise and mayhem" and searched the rest of the building first. It took over two weeks of regular posting to get through it, and just bogged the game down irreversibly. Thank you for allowing this. I can see it as a major tension builder and can be very well done.. at a table. Doing this PbP.. quite a bit harder. Anyways, your tokens are now on the very top right part of the map.. under where the big goblin was.

The party finishes up with their goblins, and ties up Daelrics wounds. Looking about the room, you come to a ghastly conclusion. The goblins were playing with dismembered body parts, but sitting in an alcove is the body of an older man. Upon inspection, he looks eerily similar to Amieko, and must be of some close relation to her. The blood on his clothes and the char he is tied to are obvious, but someone has poured layer upon layer of molten glass over his remains, creating a horribly gruesome see through tomb.

Carefully, you search out the rest of the upstairs of the Glassworks and find various states of destruction all over the building. The kitchen areas are completely destroyed, rotting scraps of food and broken crockery lying about showing evidence of several days of occupation by the voracious little bastards. There are several offices and lush meeting rooms, but the furniture and tapestries are all damaged beyond repair.

Eventually, you come to the day quarters and living quarters for the servants. After seeing the horrible mess of dismembered bodies in the workshop, it is now quite obvious where those poor souls originated. The walls, floor, and even the ceiling of these two rooms are dripping with smears and splashes of blood. The rooms are destroyed completely, bunks, tables, and chairs no more than splinters, bedding shredded and soaked in all manner of offal. Eventually, you come to the conclusion that the bloody mess is several days old. Your keen eyes peer into every crack and crevice in the building, but find no more clues.

Rounding the hall back towards the workshop, you eventually come upon the stairs to the lower level. Carefully, you order yourselves out and head down the stone stairs. Reaching the bottom, you are confronted with a hallway that branches to your left and continues to the front. There are a great many boxes and barrels lining the halls here, and obviously this area was some sort of less used storage. The hall is quiet and still...

Female Human Wizard (Exploiter) 8 | HP 54/54 | AC 13 T 13 FF 11 | Fort +4 Ref +5 Will +7 | Initiative +2 | Perception +10 | Arcane Reservoir: 7/11 | Pearls of Power: 1st—1/1 2nd—1/1

Kiera shudders at the abattoir. "How did nobody notice for days that this place was occupied by goblins? Didn't these people have families and homes to return to after their jobs?"

"I'd suspect, based on the rooms that appeared like living quarters, that many of them did not have anyplace else to go." Andrezi says, speculating on the rational for how this travesty had gone unnoticed.

Reaching the bottom of the stairs, Andrezi recites a short prayer. "Song of the Spheres, Lady of Dreams grant unto these fine companions a measure of the grace that is granted unto your servants."

Activating Caravan Bond

Finishing his prayer he cast a spell of light on his holy symbol.

"A bit too dark down here for my tastes." Taking note of his dwarven companions after the spell, "Sorry about that, I suppose I should have asked you about that first."

I look around at the desecration caused by the Goblins and my hatred grows even more with everything I see. I walk with everyone and when Andrezi starts his prayer I look to him I bow my head at the end of the prayer before looking up again ... straight into the bright light. I blink a few times, trying to get rid of the spots of lights I can see ..."That was ... painful, but you do need to see. Just give me a moment for my vision to clear."

Once I can see perfectly fine again I walk forwards, "Forwards or Left? Do we decide or leave it up to chance again?"

Does the hallway to the left come to an end or continue going?

The party lets a rather dubious fate guide their decision at the bottom of the stairs, and they turn left. Moving over some debris and past two wheelbarrows, it is easy to see that there has been recent work done down here. Upon closer inspection, you can see evidence that this corridor may once have been bricked off and is now open. Just past the debris, the hall turns to the right, exposing two doors on your left, and another at the end of passage, where the hall turns back to the right again.

The party opens the door and peers into the room to find a dirty storage room with a tunnel running out of the back. Chiseled from the sandstone beneath Sandpoint, the tunnel is obviously very old. It runs for almost 1,800 feet, twisting and turning before ending in a solid wall.

Perception:
Daelric- Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24

Daelric easily spots the secret door in the bricked up wall, and leads the party into a 30 foot diameter cave. The side is open to a cliff overlooking the Varisian Bay. The cave mouth slopes down to a narrow beach where a collection of goblin beds and the remains of their meals lie in the sand.

"But why? Why unleash all this... carnage on the town?" Kiera trails off as she whispers in response to Andrezi's comment. "What could have motivated all this?"

|Ruins |WBGoblins|RotRL| Emerald Spire|

Daelric, between the mess left above in the glassworks, and the mess here, you can tell that many goblins have traversed the area, but cannot get an accurate count. Obviously more than just the ones you fought upstairs though. Keep in mind that the attack actually had several prongs.. some groups from outside the walls, and another from within the city.

Moving back up the tunnel and into the basement, the party approaches the next door. When Volkar throws the door open, a young half-elf male startles up from a bunk where he was obviously sound asleep.

I am not sure if that will hit or not, but as it was a surprise round and he doesn't get to act before me in round 1, he should still be Flat-Footed. So here's hoping! Also, that bit of luck was very much needed there, thanks Andrezi!

Andrezi gives Daelric a Bit o Luck, and Daelric steps in a gives the half elf a good whack with his ax. The man takes a deep hit and slumps back to the bed, grabbing his wound and crying out in pain. "Stop! I surrender!" he cries, trying feebly to staunch the bleeding.

Kiera takes a quick appraisal of the room, looking for weapons or devices that the man might suddenly try to grab or draw, so that they can be removed from his possession.

Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19

With a quick glance into the room, Kiera can see that the half elf has obviously made this office into his quarters and has been here for a bit. There is a bow and quiver standing ready next to the half elfs cot, but no other obvious weapons. There is, however, some papers and a book lying on the desk.

The half elf, seeing no one else coming to finish him off, begs Daelric "Do not kill me! I am unarmed!"

Kiera swipes the book and papers before the half-elf can move to stop her.

"Well then, where is Ameiko, and be quick or my forge friend can end your worrying about that cut. I suspect we could bandage you if help us. "
Volkar smiledat the man as his fingers tapped on the hassle of his axe.

The man grimaces at Volkar and laughs at his words. "My sister is close about.. and who are you to just kill a captured man?? Are you the judge and jury in this spineless spithole?"

"Judge and jury perhaps not, be we are acting under the authority of the sheriff." Andrezi quips.

"Kiera, anything of note in the book or papers?

While looking down at the documents and quickly flipping through them, Kiera says, "Ask him about his sister."

"So, you get a choice, it seems, Volkar turned back to the half-elf. "You tell us where we can find your sister, and the healer there can help cure you. Keep it to yourself, well then I think we two can show you how dwarfs deal with traitors to one's family."

Volkar looked over at Daeldric, and winked out of sight of the wounded captive. "Didn't the Sheriff say we could handle any trouble maker as we saw fit while he and his men were away, Daelric? What do you think the penalty should be for someone such as this?"
