So it begins. Before anything else, I'll have to ask if you would be willing to provide an email. I can send you a link to the setting primer that I've prepared.

While we're getting up to speed on that, I will fill you in on how things are starting. You are all sellswords on the Minerva's Joy, a ship owned by merchant Selman Pilter. You are on a return voyage from Absalom, jewel of the Inner Sea. The sales went well and Selman is very content. It's been three months since you've left Absalom and are almost home to Port Shaw on the Razor Coast, located in southern Arcadia. Your contract with Selman is up upon arrival, leaving you to your own devices once you're home.

I'll have a gameplay thread very soon.

Gameplay thread is go!

While I'm at it, I need to clear up a few things.

First, combat. For combat, did you want to go on individual initiatives or would you prefer to do a block initiative based on what the highest number was? Did you prefer a more narrative combat or did you ened a grid?

Also, I'll be blunt about the adventure a bit with you. The idea is that the adventure is a sandbox, so there will be plenty of scenes, NPCs, and other hooks sprinkled throughout. If anything catches your attention, feel free to try to look into it. You never know what you may find.

The idea is that eventually you'll find things relevant to your character or your group's interest. If you want to become rich sea pirates, find things that help you in that. If you'd rather go liberate every slave in the region, go for it. Find your motiviation and work towards it. Soon enough, you may find adventure or it may find you!


OK, quick question before I set up the alias. Since Duardo was initially thought as a Taldori, should I change his name back and have him coming from there? It will root him better in golarion...

The alchemist can cast and use sure spells as well, but it indeed looks like we'll be wand healing for the most part, which works just fine..

Because I am quite bad at building casters (at building in general - I usually come up with a role-playing concept and build the crunch together with my GM), and Rhous/Duardo went through three builds - one used a rapier with arcane strike. Arcane strike was there as a vestigial feat. I changed it.

I settled for the full caster one, but I was just this close to the "wizard with a gun"... I think I'll develop him in that direction.

Anyway, he dislikes fighting too. He's quite good at stopping ships and charming people though.

Yup that's the one. Shipping across the sea to the Inner Sea is costly, so that's why it's only a local thing.

read the primer and need to change my skills up a bit so I can have perform(strings) and to buy a fiddle. and im going to sell a couple things to buy a pistol since its at 25% of normal cost. so that's 250g for a pistol correct?

edit: taking 1 skill from climb and switching it to Perform(oratory) and moving the 5 skills from Perform(oratory) to Perform strings

Hey Donato, i was wondering if you would allow me to use piranha strike feat with my scimitar? it says light weapons, but i use a scimitar as a finessable, sorta light weapon.. Just wondering.. It would allow me to swap points into wisdom from str for better prof. sailor.. if not its cool though.

Deliver Touch Spells (Su): If the master is 3rd level or higher, a familiar can deliver touch spells for him. If the master and the familiar are in contact at the time the master casts a touch spell, he can designate his familiar as the “toucher.” The familiar can then deliver the touch spell just as the master would. As usual, if the master casts another spell before the touch is delivered, the touch spell dissipates... hehe he can run around during the chaos and i can use him to deliver touch spells when I level up once more.

I am not very experienced in Play by Post, but I think block initiative and narrative combat should be faster... and in this case faster is better!

On init. Whatever is good for u I didn't know the rules for if pets are normally seperate.. in my games to save time I kept it the same as the master

Oh Master my Master, I need to ask something...

The rules state that "Salty" Valaravans starts with at least 8 level 1 and 2 level 2 alchemical formulae. But he can learn more from spellbooks and scrolls.

So he could have learn a trick or two from Rhous and Moctezuma. Or from previous travels. Or we can say he bought some scrolls to learn.

What do you say? How many formulae will he have?

Any formulas you want to add you purchased as scrolls at character creation. You guys weren't buddies just yet, so you didn't pick any up from your allies yet. However, you'll be able to do so anytime now.

Any formulas you want to add you purchased as scrolls at character creation. You guys weren't buddies just yet, so you didn't pick any up from your allies yet. However, you'll be able to do so anytime now.

I've also created a document for me to provide information such as maps, handouts, etc. i've sent you all a link via email. Right now it only has a map of the Razor Coast and a picture of the serpent. More will be added later of course!
