Moving along the room, the group start looking for a way to open the cage. They find what they think is the way to open it. On the floor or either side of the cage, the group found two slots. They seem to be about one foot deep and have a very intricate mechanism. If you could insert the right key, you think that this will open the cage

While everyone is looking at the puzzle of the two slots, Kakrish walks toward the dig out tunnel. Examining the work he comes to a few conclusions. First, is is poorly done. Second, it was probably done by a small sized creature. Third, there seems to be a ghoul that was hiding in the tunnel. He barely has time to mention any of this to the others has the thing come at him.

Kakrish jumps back as soon as he sees the ghoul emerge from the tunnel. "Watch out everyone!" he shouts and he draws his greatsword from its scabbard.

Kyzen focusing on finding a way to open the cage, didn't notice or hear anything until Kakrish's warning made him jump out of focus. Surprised, he takes a long time to react...

Your first impression was that this is a ghoul. But now that you can see it better, it is a Ghast. It possesses the same abilities, then a Ghoul (Diseased bite, and paralytic touch) but it is also surrounded by an awful stench. Making anyone within 10 feet sicken.

The undead creature jumps out of its hiding place. It growls with frustration at the fact that the dwarf isn't within reach. Moving forward, Kakrish's nose is overwhelmed by the stink of death. The warpriest manages to keep his last meal inside of him as he gets ready to fight the new foe.

Kakrish takes a swing at the creature, hoping to get rid of the source of the smell. Sadly, in his rush, the sword does reach the target and the creature is able to close the distance between the dwarf and itself.

Kyras maneuvers himself to stand behind the creature. Once there, he takes a swing with his fauchard. While the weapon actually hit the creature, the blade just glides against the hardened skin and doesn't inflict any damage. Now within striking distance, it attacks the dwarf.

With each hit, Kakrish can feel that his body is slower to react, as if some force was trying to hold him in place. He shakes it off twice, but final with the third strike, he freezes in place, unable to keep moving.

That's 18 points of damage to Kakrish and you are now paralyzed.

Seeing his friend paralyzed, Hoga rushes forward.

Kyzen rushes forward, summoning elemental earth energy, he releases a blast at the creature. The blast hit the creature on the shoulder, knocking it off balance. Before it can recover, Hoga bring down his axe on its shoulder. The blade cut deep at an angle, cutting the creature in two from one shoulder to the opposite thigh. Now that the adrenaline leaves him, Hoga gets a whiff of the smell from the creature. For a while, he looks a bit greener than usual.

Walking toward the cage...

"So how do we open this cage now?"

While trying for figure out a way to open it. After a minute or so Kyzen starts feeling the stench getting to him...

"Is there any way we can get rid of Stinky over there!"

Kakrish freezes in midswing and feels his life energy drain away. Then, with his eyes stuck open in amazement, he watches Hoga rain fury on the ghast. It crumples onto the floor.

A few moments later the grip of paralysis on Kakrish fades. "Ok. That hurt." he says and tries to keep a smile on his face.

He gladly accepts the healing from Tamora and then downs the potion Kyzen gave him.

Will a knowledge engineering tell me anything about the locks? And I forgot I had Perform(sing). I think the Kakrish is going to have to start singing. BTW, my skill there is at a -1...

Now that he is fully recovered from the ghastly ghast attack, Kakrish saunters over to the cage and the strange slots in the ground. "Well, let me take a look. I really am an expert at these kinds of things."

Considering the bars for a moment Kyras looks quite puzzled. They have to open somehow, else what is the point. His eyes brighten, if only slightly and he says Tamora, lend me that mithral dagger back for a moment. as he removes the damaged blade from his backpack. He measures the length of both blades and nods to himself before trying to insert them into the keyholes. If this fails at first he asks for help so that both can be inserted at the same time.

Kyras slide the daggers into the slots. Both fit perfectly and you can hear a soft click when they are fully in. Once there, you notice that you can turn them, but it requires two people as they need to be turned at the same time. When you do, the bars of the cage seem to melt into the floor, giving you access to the chest inside.

The scroll don't require detect magic to identify. It's either read magic or spellcraft DC 20+spell level. As for the potion, Since you know they are magical and you could use your nose and taste bud, I will let you roll on them.

[Hold Friends. Lets divide up some of these potions and scrolls, in case some of them need to be used. We have potions of Cure Light, Sanctify Corpse, Sanctuary, Erase, Magic Weapon, VirtueX2 Enlarge Person X2, Hide from undead, Shield of Faith, Protection from Good, Resistance, and two unknowns. And we have scrolls of Produce Flame, Expeditious Retreat, Bear's Endurance, Shield of Faith, and Unseen Servant. I would carry a potion of Enlarge Person and Oil of Magic Weapon. I could also use the potion of Shield of Faith, but I know others would benefit from it as well. I fear I am not good at using scrolls quite yet.
