Oh right ! I'm relieved ! said happily Kaâb.

Then she turned to the oread owner

Please, don't judge to harshly these three ifrits. They just follow the orders of Lady Cinderfury. She's the problem, not them. I'm sure once she will be dethroned all will be better for Oread and ifrit !
And together you will be able to make Cristalcrag grow.

Some ifrit are your children, some other not, but you are all citizen of Cristalcrag. We hope to stop the tyranny of Lady Cinderfury's rule but not at the price of Blood, yours or them ! she pointed the three incounscious ifrit. Many of the oreads slowly slink away once the situation is resolved. Morak nods to Kaab, "Believe me, we understand that not all of the ifrits are bad. They're just carrying out orders. And many of them are our sons and daughters!"

"I refuse to turn over my profit to that tyrant and so she sends her thugs out to burn my shop down! How can anyone live under such a rule? Whatever you have planned, you have my full support." Morak listens attentively to any your plans for confronting Tygora, and he shows his support of the endeavor by giving you a potion of resist fire and four potions of cure moderate wounds. He also gives you a potion of fire shield (CL 7th; chill shield)—a rare tonic that exceeds the normal limits of potion creation.

Kayluss puts his hand on Dalton's shoulder to stop him, I'd rather not parade beaten up ifrit guards through the city streets. Not only will that probably attract the attention of other city guards, it would hurt our case with the other ifrits. Heading to the Council sounds like a good idea though.

Before anyone can stop him, Dalton is off and down the road. "I'll only be a minute," he calls to the others over his shoulder.

**********

Within a few minutes he returns. In the oread's hands are a simple woolen cloak, a wide-brimmed hat, and a pair of smoked goggles. Dalton sets them on the ground next to one of the unconscious, bound ifrits. He begins untying the rope...

"I saw this in a stage-play once. It was about these two lower-level clerks working for an important minister. The minister invites them to his country estate, but when the two clerks arrive, they find that their minister has passed away, yet nobody else knows. So, in order to ensure that an important diplomatic trade goes through, the clerks devise a scheme in which they pretend that the minister is still alive! And it fooled everyone. So here," Dalton hands the hat, cloak and goggles to Megfarra, "hold these please."

With the ifrit untied, Dalton lifts it up on to its feet, supporting the ifrit by the under-arm. "Kayluss, you get his other arm, there - yes, put it over your shoulder like this. Okay, now Meg, would you be kind enough to dress this ifrit in his new clothes."

"There, now, perhaps we can walk over to the Council House a little more inconspicuously."

Morak nods at Dalton and says, "Of course, of course! I can look after the rest of them and see that they heal properly but I'll keep them out of the way until you've finished whatever it is that you're doing. Good luck with this-" he gestures to your outrageous idea to transport one of the ifrit across town-"scheme of yours."

---

Eurdan is quite surprised at the odd assortment that knocks on the doors of the Council House. "Oh! Come right in, come right in!"

After hearing your tale, Eurdan repeats, "So the oread workers seem to be ready for action. . . and you've gotten Valsog to stop giving weapons and armor to Lady Cinderfury's forces. . . and Valsog is arming the oreads. . . and Morak's shop has been recovered and he is holding ifrits, well, hostage."

Eurdan thinks for a moment. Obviously oreads are generally peaceful and slow-moving people, but when they are roused their determination and passion is unstoppable. "We must strike quickly! You've opened up the perfect opportunity to take down the tyrant. If we let this moment pass, we may not see another one; Lady Cinderfury will only crack down harder in the future."

"I am fairly certain that with a little oversight-and I volunteer myself to the position if you'll allow it-the oreads can easily subdue any wayward ifrits or other guards in the city. With her main force distracted with the riots in the city, I think it might just be enough to allow you to assault her fortress and take on her personal guards. If you're lucky, you'll rescue your friends and remove her from power in one fell swoop. Do you think you're ready?"

"You can see that you're not in any position to trifle with us. I shall ask these questions and I expect answers. What can you tell us of Cinderfury's personal guards? What about Cinderfury herself, what sorts of powers does she possess? Finally, what do you know of a group of Pathfinders that have been taken prisoner - are they still alive?"

Dalton, you really should't mumble when you threaten someone. Kayluss says as he gently moves the Oread away so Kaab can speak with the guard.

Alright Eurdan, lets get this revolution rolling. You need to start spreading the word right away. Send your men out to Valsog's in small groups to gather arms and armor. Pole arms might be your best choice since the guards seem to like to get in close to fight. We also need to see about having Morak provide some non-lethal weapons too, things like Tanglefoot bags and Thunderstones.
We'll need to act fast and strike hard so we can subdue the guards in the city before reinforcements can arrive. The fewer opponents you have to face at a time the easier this will be with out shedding too much blood. So try an coordinate attacks with as many or you men as possible. Try and set up ambushes if possible.
Should things start to to look bad we'll need to set up designated rally points through the city, easily defensible positions. Have non combatants move there now and start stockpiling food and healing supplies.

Kayluss lays a hand on the councilman and looks him in the eyes. Spread the word too that any looting or violence against innocents will be dealt with harshly.

I'm sure I could convince the Elemental guarding the gate to let guide us to Lady Cinderfury. Once there I'm convinced that we could talk to Lady Cinderfury to abdicate without blood shed. At least let me try, the Mighty Elemental guarding the gate seems a good guy to me, I would prefer to not kill him at least not without trying to find a peaceful way to get to Lady Cinderfury.

The Flaxseed Pathfinder Lodge

Two huge fire elementals guard the gate. Unfortunately for Kaab's plans, it seems that the rioting in the city has put the palace on-guard and they have been warned about the foreigners causing trouble. They do not look in the mood to talk!

These fire elementals would have been wielding elven-curve blades if you hadn't gotten Valsog to stop supplying weapons, by the way. Also one of them would have been a magma elemental. So all that rousing you did earlier will adjust the encounters here to make them slightly easier.

@Kayluss: They didn't move past you. But even if they did, Spring Attack doesn't provoke so no one gets AoO against them. Just for future reference.

Kaab knows that fire elementals of this size will resist physical damage of all types (DR/-); they are immune to fire damage but are vulnerable to cold damage.

Kaab begins a dance but it only distracts Kayluss, whose swings go wide!

I'm guessing Kaab is using her dance for inspire courage, right?

Dalton reels back from being slammed by the fire elemental. (but I don't think he took any fire damage if Kaab cast the fire resist spell, right?

Reflex: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12

However, he is unable to keep from getting set on fire.

Dalton then tries to do what he does best. He takes a 5-foot step to the fire elemental and tries to grapple it.

Nope.

Kayluss, thanks - somehow I missed that.

Regarding the save to keep from lighting on fire, the CRB states that "Resist energy absorbs only damage. The subject could still suffer unfortunate side effects." - I read this as meaning that Dalton could still catch on fire, but he would still resist 20 pts. of fire damage each time he took damage from the fire. Since it seems the fire damage is only 2d6, I figure Dalton's protected either way.

The Flaxseed Pathfinder Lodge

@Dalton: yeah, the fire damage should hurt you either way so I guess it doesn't matter if you're on fire or not.
