So the character choices are nearly done, I think I need to adjust the formatting slightly, and finish the equipment list. Speaking of that, additional Starting Gold:3d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 3) = 11x10= 110
Looks good, sent you a PM with a simple question. Let me know when you want tobe introduce, and feel free to post in the discussion thread introducing yourself as a new player to the game
One of the Players has dropped out, so if there is still anyone interested in trying on a 5e (heavily modified) nonsensical Dungeon Crawl, now would be the time to voice an interest.
He has a Noble background so I guess we'll need to message each other about it. I posted my profile so you can have a look. If you have questions just ask.
Before this game got to the first encounter we lost our only Cleric, can I find someone out there who wants to play a heavy House Ruled 5th edition Cleric?
I'd be delighted to have you join us Monk, really excited to see what you can bring to the game
Please note, there are a lot of peculiar house rules, and a read of the Campaign Info tab is worth the effort.
There is an encounter that just began, would it be alright if I made you a captive of the Bandits?
Now, I haven't really thought about placing a Gnome settlement in this campaign world (it is sort of an extension of the Woodbridge Campaign I am running on these boards)so, let me think
Gnomes on Baylor:
We’ve already met some friendly Kobolds, who live in a warren under ground beneath the ruins of the Black Village. These kobolds have mentioned that further to the northeast are the ruins of a vast underground dwarven city. In the beginning of the game thread there were some stories, hinted at, that the current, surface dwelling dwarves of Baylor have a shadowy past that may be connected to certain “grey dwarves.” Now the Palace of the Vampire Queen, is to the north and slightly northwest of the Black Village, high in the mountains there, but the hills, green and rolling, to the west of the Black Village have not really been talked about. So with this in mind, let’s say that to the west, and southwest of the black village are rolling farms, and hills, where many settlements of dwarves can be found, and the closer you get to the coast, the more likely you are to find halflings and elves (native to Alodoa) and Humans (from Urandoma) in these villages, but you will also find Gnomes, who are native to Baylor, but not related to the dwarves or their shadowy history, in fact, many gnomes believe that the surface world of Baylor was inhabited by gnomes, long before the dwarves came above ground. In fact, if one could travel all the way to the northeastern shores of Baylor, you would find large towns, and even one large city entirely run by Gnomes, even though the dwarves claim that the whole of Baylor belongs to the dwarven king. Gnomes are not oppressed by their dwarven neighbors, nor do they find any reason to make things difficult for their larger and slightly more eccentric friends. Most Gnomes feel that the current political situation of Baylor is transitional anyway, and that with all these foreigners coming to the island, with trade and new ideas, it is only a matter of time before the land becomes part of the larger Alodoan empire anyway.
Now as far as Namfoodle is concerned
Namfoodle:
You come from a small village, not more than five leagues to the southwest. That village is called, Thistle Field, and it has a population of about eighty to one hundred, mostly gnomes, but a few other demi-humans. Being about one of the closest villages to the Palace of the Vampire Queen, it is not uncommon for the village to suffer occasional raids by goblins, and undead shamblers, though once, almost a generation ago, the whole village was nearly destroyed, much in the same way the Black Village was, but the brave citizens of Thistle Field recovered from that event, and have rebuilt the village, to include a wooden palisades, wall, and ditch. The village lies along a small river, named the Tumbledown River (the party has crossed this river on their way to the Palace). There is talk, in the village, of the dwarven kind agreeing to replace the village hall, a small wooden affair, with an actual stone keep and curtain wall, but so far, no construction of said keep has begun. However, a dwarven surveying team visited the village a few weeks ago, and said that they were travelling to Cipinney, and would return in a week. When they did not return, you, being a rather easy to get along in the wild sort of fellow, thought it might be practical to see if any of the other small hamlets around the village had seen or heard from the crew. You found yourself thinking that visiting the Kobolds of Loamstone Hollow, who are always welcoming of travelers, and instead found yourself captured at dawn by a band of dwarven bandits, who brought you to the palace of the vampire Queen, where they questioned you, slapping you around a bit, but not actually hurting you, trying to find out if you were worth ransoming off. When you wouldn’t tell them what they wanted to know, two of their number left the rest, saying that they were going to go see if anyone was willing to pay for you, but you don’t know who they might have been talking about asking.
When you are ready, Namfoodle, just post in the discussion thread and introduce yourself. I’ll be introducing you in the game thread soon
You sure you want to join this wacky version of 5e?
I would gladly entertain a few more players, if anyone is interested. And a separate recruitment, a fresh one, to try and find new players and make them interested in this experiment, will be up soon.
Is this still recruiting? What sort of roles need filling? Also, I don't have any experience with non-PF PBP; would I register a character like a PFS character (so it will have a forever-unusable PFS number), or do most people just play from their Profiles?
No PFS number needed here. This is 5th edition. I'm not sure what all we need, but I think there was an interest in healing classes. I'm playing a druid.
Click on My Account. Log In, then look at your profiles. I think you should be able to create a new one there. Let us know if you need more help than that.
Agnon seems to have magic covered. I'd say a more utility caster or possibly a gish character. Though, I have always been a component of play what you want.
There is a link at the top of this page (and all game pages in this campaign) for the revised Monk rules if anyone wants to give them a look, it is a work in progress and I am open to suggestions, particularly for archery rules that fit the model.
Rough draft of my char here. I know I haven't even been let in yet, I just enjoyed making this. Will flesh his personality out more once I've mulled it over a bit. As for backstory, is there an army and/or mercenary group he could have been in previously?
Here's gold expenditure. Formatting is a bit ugly after copy-pasting, but readable.
I am reopening this recruitment for up to three new Player Characters.
This game, for many reasons perhaps, has had a hard time keeping a core group of interested players.
Right now we have three very excellent players who are bringing the adventure and the setting to life, but we just lost our fourth Player Character to real life's demands, and so I would like to try and get a couple more serious participants engaged here.
We have
a Half-orc fighter
a Human sorcerer
and a Halfling (fighter) who is soon going to change right before your very eyes into a Bard!
Hey now! I'm no common sorcerer. I've worked hard and long for my magic*, it wasn't just something I got for free because I happened to be born that way.
Disclaimer:
Kayne Aetherax has worked hard and long for his magic, in that he worked hard and long to find a demon to whom he could sell his soul for greater power. And he has worked hard and long since then looking for a way to cheat out of the bargain.
