Iskim circles around his prey, and finally manages to bring down his great sword into the neck of the troglodyte veteran, severing the smelly head form the body. The younger troglodyte is shocked, and doesn't see Camaenors arrow coming, which hits him straight in the heart. He falls to the ground in a puddle of blood.

Scarlet finishes relaoding her crossbow just in time to see the battle end.
She waits for her stomach to settle, then follows the group.

DM Kludde |

The larger troglodyte carries a big iron key, and the chest in this room contains a full set of adventuring equipment: a suit of leather armour, a buckler shield, a rapier, a short bow, several scrolls, and even a wayfinder.

![]() |

G'Boar mentality leeches the adrenaline out of his blood and restores the calm of a seasoned hunter. He then actively scans the bunk and braiser rooms for signs of traps or hidden passages, as well as activity on the opposing side of yet unopened doors...

DM Kludde |

G'Boar searches the room with the brazier, and then turns his attention to the next room. The big iron key easily opens the heavy lock on the door, and behind it, they find a prisoner, bound in manacles. He looks alive, though severely beaten and weakened. Shielding his eyes against the light, he raises his manacles and whimpers...

DM Kludde |

Forsend. Balenar Forsend. I am... a scout of the Society. Did Drengle send you? Have you come to free me?

![]() |

"I must assume this is your equipment we found in the other room... It looks to be about your size."
The Ranger continues,"How did you become a prisoner of these filthy creatures?"

Iskim nods at the man. "It seems we have." He then begins looking for a key to unlock the man's shackles.

Forsend. Balenar Forsend. I am... a scout of the Society. Did Drengle send you? Have you come to free me?
G'Boar looks around to his companions, and whispers, "I know that I am the newest member of the guild gathered in this esteemed body, but who is this Drengle he speaks of?"
He continues in quieter tones, "Did Venture-Captain Valsin give any of you this name as a code or something of that nature?"G'Boar's inability to trust is a product of being banished by his tribe for the accused misgivings of his father at a young age and then, in his mind, being abandoned by his father as the going got tough as they struggled to survive on their own. He has never been able to make connections to others as he is constantly in fear of having his trust and allegiance betrayed.... again.

DM Kludde |

They overpowered me. Some megalomaniac troglodyte with a crocodile companion. And that burly trog, with his goons. They were to much for me, so they threw me in this cell, bruised an beaten.
The leader was murmuring plans about taking over the isle. He must be deranged, but he's still quite powerful. Did you encounter him, yet?
Balenar then reacts to G'Boars confusion, Dreng? You haven't met him? He usually keeps a low profile, but he's a very important VC in Absalom.

![]() |

Iskim shakes his head. "We have not fought anyone like the one you describe, nor a crocodile companion. Where might we find them?"

![]() |

"Now we've saved a princess in the tower we need to go slay its dragon" Scarlet cheekily comments as she shoulders her trusty crossbow again.

![]() |

G'Boar acknowledges Iskim's question, and adds, "This lead Trog definitely isn't below, so it must be onwards and upwards..."
The burly Ranger looks towards Balenar and adds, "Will you be joining us, Mate, as we continue our exploration? Seems only fitting that you finish the job you started..."

DM Kludde |

I will! I'll join you, and people will learn of the story you are about to write!
The highest level of the tower still seems to be completely intact, though precariously overhanging the lower portions. It is a lot harder to climb up here, as the route is more difficult, and the stones are still smooth.
Though it should still be no problem with the grappling hook.
At the top, a stone railing surrounds a five-foot-wide walkway that seems to completely encircle the tower. There's a door to the north, and an open arch on the east side

![]() |

The young Ranger takes a brief moment to admire the commanding view offered from this precarious height. Then returns to the task at hand...
G'Boar will check the northern door for any signs of traps, and if clear, he will quietly enter the top floor, bow at the ready.

Big plans. Tasskar was peering out into the distance and overlooking the lands. His lands. Ripe for the picking. It has all been so easy, the entry to the tower, moving to the upper levels. His little shocker lizard pet guarding the lower levels, along with some trusted underlings, and his aide, the burly Talok, guarding that adventurer with the other half of his minions. Everything was going smoothly, his power building, and nothing that could reasonably stand in his way...
The four wings of the tower are completely open on this level, forming one great, cross-shaped chamber with arched ceilings. The decayed remnants of a carpet run from the doorways at the end of each wing, meeting in the center, where a spiral staircase drops out of sight below. A large, throne-like chair stands in the middle of the eastern wing
next to a big chest.
Peering out into the distance is a Troglodyte carrying a scimitar, flanked by an albino crocodile. As the adventurers enter, he immediately snaps to attention...

Scarlet moves in. Tasskar casts a spell on the crocodile, then says sic! as he sends the albino creature forward.
Baloney starts singing a song that bolsters the morale of the adventurers. It has immediate effect: G'Boar fires his arrow, and punches it straight into the Trog's chest. It only seemed to have missed his heart by half an inch, an the trog leader looks mighty weakened.
The critical damage is not correct, I think. That would be a x3 crit, so damage roll should be 2d8 + 8. With your rolls that makes 19 extra damage, rather than 21

Congratulations, you've thwarted Tasskar's evil megalomaniac plans to take over - ehm - the world! On top of that, you've rescued Balenor, pathfinder chronicler, who is sure to mention you in this stories. Glory and fame for everyone!
And chronicles. A bit busy today and tomorrow, but I'll get them your way as soon as I can!
