The only magic in the room is a scroll on the girl.
Searching the bodies finds:
Katiya Gear quarterstaff, dagger, scroll, spell component pouch, spell components
2 Thugs each have Studded leather, Buckler, longsword, composite shortbow, quiver with 20 arrows, backpack, 50 ft. silk rope, a grappling
hook, signal whistle, silver earring (5 gp), 1 gp
Freire finds nothing sepecial about the trap door.
Also the man laying on the floor where the girl was crying, is Lubor. He is very much dead.
Andor Katsu |
"Oh no ... Lubor is dead. We definitely need more information from these people."
Andor walks to the trap door and says: "I would jump down there if you want - Chaldira is with me! Who want's to join me?"
Sek Bodkin |
"I guess we can come back for these people. They don't seem to be going anywhere. Let's go."
Sek peeks through the trapdoor.
Perception: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (13) + 15 = 28 (+3 more if it leads to the outside.
Beat It Flat |
You enter into a gloomy, greenish twilight where scattered beams
of light filter down between weathered dock planks, bouncing off seaweed covered stones that jut from the dark harbor waters.
A forest of pylons suspends the docks above where the scurrying
feet of merchants, sailors, and longshoremen hammer like
a muffled thunderstorm. Between the pylons, you spot small
stone bunkers, ruins of older siege forts now crumbling and
weathered from centuries of angry waves. A narrow set of docks
traverses the rocks, connecting various locations. Eventually, all
lead out to the shallow bay at the mouth of the maze. Nearby,
you notice a fresh trail of muck-limned, wet footprints.
A new slide is up with characters on it where you arrive from the trap door.
Freire |
Freire goes through the trapdoor and moves to where he is on the map, greatsword in hand. Seeing the two people that he does not know, he tries to sense their motive, particularly the one to his south.
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
He will also check those tracks using Survival.
Survival: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
Andor Katsu |
Andor looks at his surroundings to see what is going on.
perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
He then tries to see if there are any other tracks to be seen except of the obvious footsteps.
suvival: 1d20 ⇒ 6
If he finds something he would inform the others.
Andor then steps forward to the dock workers and smiles at them: "Hey guys, sorry to bother you. But have you seen anybody coming from the direction that we just came from recently? Perceptive guys like you surely keep their eyes open, right?"
diplomacy: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
Beat It Flat |
The guards tell you that they recently let a captain and his men return to their ship.
You also notice tracks leading to the small bunker on the left.
Andor Katsu |
“Thanks for these information. “ Andor says.
@GM: Are the tracks going in the direction that the dock workers pointed towards where the captain and his men went to or are the tracks going to a different direction? Where would that be on the map? Thanks
Beat It Flat |
The tracks go to the structure that Andor moved to. The men did not indicate which way the captain went.
He says, " I cannot let you pass unless you have a harbor masters pass"
Andor Katsu |
"Of course I know that we need a harbour masters pass - after all we belong to the captain and his men and just want to find our comrades that had the pass with them! So tell us where they went and let us pass!" Andor replies with a sense of urgency.
bluff: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
Ratesh |
Ratesh waits for the guards reply, but if they still seem hesitant he pulls the group back a little bit, quietly whispering, I have an idea
Ratesh |
Sorry for bothering you, sir
Ratesh pulls the rest of the group back out of earshot, as if to leave and tells them, I’ve got a little trick up my sleeve that will create a fog, which when inhaled, will cause someone to be intoxicated and fascinated with it for a short while. Assuming they don’t resist its affects, it could buy us time to hold our breath and slip by.
Euphoric Cloud is the spell
Freire |
"That sounds like a great idea. Which way do we want to go? The small bunker? Then go after the captain? I hate to leave an unturned stone."
Andor Katsu |
"At least tell us where the captain went to!" Andor demands from the worker.
Beat It Flat |
The guard stare menacingly at Andor
"If you really belong to the captain, you would know where he went to. Now you best be leaving."
Andor Katsu |
Andor turns towards Ratesh and sighs "Sorry, please clean up my mess."
Ratesh |
Ratesh pulls the group at least 25’ back and casts Euphoric Cloud centered on the guards. Before seeing their reaction he starts to make his way past them.
Anyone in the 20’ radius (above as well) need to make a DC16 fort save every round or be fascinated with the fog. I guess it’s GM’s discretion if holding your breath and moving through helps.
Beat It Flat |
I will give you a +5 to the fort save for holding your breath, and another +5 if you close your eyes.
The guard down by the bunker seems distracted, the other seems unaffected.
Ratesh |
Alright, here we go. Cloud lasts for 4 rounds. Guard 1 is affected for 1d4+1 rounds. Guard 2 will have to make a save every round if he stays in the cloud. Not sure if you want to start an initiative order or not. I would think after casting I wouldn’t enter until round 2, but there’s a lot of GM interpretation here
Ratesh holds his breath and runs for the footprints/ship, doing what he can to avoid the unaffected guard, and pulling along any allies that might get affected.
Fort: 1d20 + 4 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 4 + 5 = 25
Amerel |
Amerel holds his breath and tries to run for the building.
fortitude save: 1d20 + 4 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 + 4 = 26

- Freire 20
- Andor 19
- Sek 16
- Amerel 15
- Ratesh 14
- Guard(1) 12
- Guard (2) 11
Freire |
Freire holds his breath, runs down to the guard, and then pushes him into the water so the party can enter the bunker.
Fortitude Save: 1d20 + 7 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 7 + 4 = 30
CMB: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
Hope that is what you want to reflect Freire pushing the guard into the water.
Andor Katsu |
Andor holds his breath, runs and tries to follow Freire.
fort: 1d20 + 2 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 2 + 5 = 17
Sek Bodkin |
"I guess we are doing this."
Sek is going to ready a shot nonleathal shot (bludgeoning arrow) against the guard on the left assuming a shove may break fascination or that the unaffected guard will attack. He keeps his bow down by his side so he seems less threatening.
Beat It Flat |
Freire bull rushes the guard, and is successful at pushing him into the water, but he does get an AoO, since he has combat reflexes.
longsword: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
The Ao attack misses as he splashes into the water.
Andor Katsu |
Andor runs for the door and tries to open it.
Beat It Flat |
The door appears locked.
Amerel and Ratesh are up.
I will be at a con this weekend, so my posting will be limited to early morning, and late night at best until Sunday evening.
Ratesh |
Ratesh charges his long sword with arcane energy and swings at the lock.
Spending an arcane pool point to add 2d6 acid damage via pool strike class feature
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
Confirm: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
SlashDamage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9CritExtra: 1d8 ⇒ 2
AcidDamage: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 6) = 12CritExtraAcid: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 1) = 6
Andor Katsu |
"Oh man, Amarel could have opened the door, right?!" Andor says grinning. He then opens the door and steps in.
Ratesh |
Amerel looks around wondering to himself...Gee, if only we had a thief in the party...
Sorry, overzealous I guess
Andor Katsu |
Andor opens the door and steps into the room.
Beat It Flat |
Guard loudly whistles and then moves over to Amerel and tries to,bullrush him.
bullrush: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
Beat It Flat |
An aquatic creature charges over to Amerel and tries to rake him.
rake: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Freire |
I don't see the aquatic creature on the map unless it's the second guard in the water.
Freire moves to intercept the guard who bullrushed Amerel unless that aquatic creature is nearer and attacks.
Power Attack w/Greatsword: 1d20 + 9 - 1 ⇒ (16) + 9 - 1 = 242d6 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (2, 2) + 7 + 2 = 13
Sek Bodkin |
Seks readied action goes off as the guard form the west walks past. Sek narrows the pupils of his eyes to improve accuracy.
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 221d8 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Beat It Flat |
The SeaCat is not on the map yet because I only have my iPad and can't add it easily until I get home tomorrow evening.
Sek's readied attack and Freire attacks combine to do enough damage to put the guard down.
Andor is up.
Andor Katsu |
Andor tries to stabilize the guard:
heal: 1d20 ⇒ 16
Beat It Flat |
Andor stabilizes the guard.
The seacat is where the x is on the map.
Initiative:
Freire 20
Andor 19
Sek 16
Amerel 15
Ratesh 14
Guard(1) 12
Sek is up.
Amerel |
Not quite sure of what the current situation is with my character. From what I see I was bullrushed and attacked. The attack(s) failed but what about the bullrush. Am I prone? Do I currently have any damage?
Freire |
Freire isn't sure what a seacat is, but it attacked one of his party members, so he attacks it if that is possible.
Power Attack w/ Greatsword: 1d20 + 9 - 1 ⇒ (4) + 9 - 1 = 122d6 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (6, 6) + 7 + 2 = 21
Andor Katsu |
Andor looks through the stabilized guard's pockets to see if he finds a key or something else.
Beat It Flat |

The bullrush was an 18 which beat your cmd that is listed for Amerel. You were pushed into the water, but no damage.
