Does the Robe of Needles work with two weapon fighting? If so, Talindra is somewhat interested, but only if nobody else wants it.

I'm going to say that the Robe of Needles does work with two weapon fighting - it will just run out of needles twice as fast that way.

Thanks! Not sure I'd weapon-focus that robe, but it could work as a backup weapon. Talindra might also mix in a robe attack with a crossbow or melee attack.

In terms of scouting ahead, did we actually get in another "rest" where we can recover spells, or are we just resting in a storyline sense? Because if we really rested, Talindra pops Infernal Healing on injured party members.

Also, we should go through the crack, because it'll be fun!

I'd also like to apologise for my lack of posting this week. I've just started a Masters Degree and am looking for a new apartment and so have been crazy busy this week. Did I? I think that must have been a misunderstanding. I've not made a map for this combat, I merely mentioned how far away the ooze now is, it's still theatre of mind I'm just keeping track of rough distances. Sorry if I caused any confusion there.

You can still put together a character with a 15 point buy instead.

I could, but looking at the other characters which average around 25 (except poor Lililinda) I would feel extremely inadequate.

Speaking of Lililinda, she looks like a 13 point buy. Did she forget to add her +2 to her con or am I missing something?

The character generation rules are a bit odd. The random method consistently seems to (unless unlucky like me) be producing 25+ point characters, while the point system is way down at 15. So basically if you roll bad you are not anywhere near the league of the other players. Now the GM could end up just nixing the god rolls like the guy with about a 60 point character, but even so the current characters weigh in pretty high above 15 points. I'm tempted if for no other reason than Lililinda needs company at the bottom, but not enough.

The Dagger: Its our most powerful weapon so far,..right? Harro may ask to use it sometimes as a tool (the acid is very useful!) but the spider symbol will make him not want to carry it nor use it as a weapon normally unless he can remove the symbol without damaging the enchantment.

The Ioun Torch stones: Harro will keep one of the Ioun torches and pass the rest out to those who are not affected by light as much as some underdark races can be. The drow are last.

The Food stone: Whomever brings the most food to the group should use the stone first. That way that person(s) is never penalized by hunger while trying to find/hunt food and can therefore have the potential to provide more food.

Just my 2 cents...


As 5th Edition assumes magic items are much rarer than Pathfinder does ( and is usually much stingier when it comes to loot in general) I'm pretty much having to make up any treasure myself. It would therefore be useful if you have a 'wish list' of items you would prefer to find. I don't guarantee that you will find any of these items but it should help both me and you. Also don't hesitate to let me know if you think you've got too much or little treasure as I'm finding that the hardest part of the conversion. (Or indeed if there is anything else you are unhappy about that is within my power to change)

Wish List?

A good two-handed weapon eventually...especially one made of a special material, or is magical of course! (One that can be thrown and can return magically would be even better!)

Boots of Striding and Springing would be nice.

Ring of the Ram?

A decent Dwarven-made Breastplate or other medium armor.

Rings of Protection/Cloaks of Resistance are always good.

Cloak of Displacement is even better!

Handy Haversack?

I wouldn't mind a whip that does actual lethal damage and allows me to use my dex for the damage mod, there's an enchant that does that but I can't recall what it is off the top of my head.

I'll have to think it through some more.

For the whip, the enchantments you're thinking of are Deadly and Agile.

As for me, other than the standard stat boosters, I'm not really sure what would be useful for a Kineticist. Don't use weapons, maybe a good set of light armor.

I'm not having Tanic go the companion route. I have enough on my hands posting for one personae.

Tanic could use decent druidic armor that has that shape shifty thing going for it - but that is a ways off. A cool staff that lines up with his earthy caveness at some point would also be nice. Short term he is very lucky to be holging that wicked dagger. Who could ask for anything more? That and good companions to chat with while they travel!

Main thing you want Akri is anything to bump your con up. There is also an item called Kineticist's Diadem that you really, REALLY, want. It adds extra damage dice, +1d6 for lesser, 2d6 for normal, and 3d6 for Greater. If your blast is physical those dice are d8's instead. They are not multiplied on crits and don't apply to blasts that don't benefit from elemental overflow.

Mmkay, I admit I'm at a bit of an impasse. I'm not really sure what I want to do with this character, what his longterm goals and such should be. When I first made him, I just wanted to try out the kineticist class, and a munavri sounded cool to play. Any ideas?

@Akri: Survival?

Right now we are so far away from any civilization that your character should/could be influenced to grow in ways that improve his chances of journeying in the underdark and learning from it. Skills to improve survival, healing, stealth...

I know your powers are most combat based, but your choices for your secondary abilities should/could also flow in that direction. Utility powers/abilities with the most wide ranging/diverse use are probably best.

You could also multiclass at later levels, but you would have to decide what other class (if any) is appropriate for your character.
