Yeah, Posh, sorry to hear that too. It must be an exhausting process, mentally and physically.
GM: I believe -4 of that jump penalty will be due to Posh's 20' speed.

RPGGGM |

Speed 15' because of encumberance.

Celyne |

sorry about your difficulties, Posh... always a tough situation when dealing with elderly parents or grandparents... being put in a parental role when you've been the kid to them for so long is hard. Went through it with my parents, one at a time, luckily.
Anyway - sorry for my absence... My dog had orthopedic surgery 2 weeks ago and I've been his caregiver for the past 2 weeks, with expectations of more to come as he becomes more mobile... and I've been sick for a week myself... just trying to catch up on my games tonight cause I'm feeling a little better now.

Zokon Santyev |

Why did an 11 hit Zokon?
I can't be squeezed in a chasm (Nothing below.. nothing to the side) so I shouldn't get the -4 to AC
That means at worst the mite is getting +4 to hit..(Usually +0 for mites) to hit Zokons 19 AC.

Attacks of opportunity happen when you do not 'withdraw' or 5-foot move from a square but before you get to the next square. They interrupt the flow of the turn and happen before the action that triggered them, so Zokon was technically still in the squeezed/climbing square, when he was hit, which also makes sense from the fact the mites couldn't hit anything that was already about 10 feet away.
Stracle actually has a better to hit than normal mites, but was dual wielding earlier this round, and still had the penalty for doing so.

I'm back baby! Which is to say that I picked up my loved ones from the computer shop yesterday. So my "two towers" (coincidentally one of my top three Lord of the Rings books) are back to running on my desk again.
In lighter news, if you're into the Pathfinder Society and haven't yet, check out the PFS Survey on the Paizo Blog.
I had trouble choosing my top 6 characters to plug in. They are sort of my kids, so I love 'em all, even the bad ones... and even the owls.
You get a boon for your time from a link on the last page!
Also, I updated the map in all three dimensions, regular old map, cross section, and the bottom of the chasm/ravine. I swear, the next dungeon is just going to be a square you all sit in.

Once again, plans in real-life simply don't work out.
I was to attend a training workshop most of this week, and expected to have plenty of time to post during the nights at the hotel, so was a bit lazy last weekend and spend time preparing for the trip.
Little did I know that we only met up at the hotel, then moved by bus to a cabin in the mountains for teambuilding purposes. No phone, no Wi-Fi, and even if we had, no time to post.
It was a very interesting experience, but yeah, sorry for going MIA/AWOL, I'm back and will make sure to catch up on all my games and post ASAP.

RPGGGM |

Glad to hear your computer is alive and well.
Yes. Exactly like that, except with Michael Bay directing it.

I thought this board did not allow explicit conte-....oh wait, you didn't mean THAT...oh well, too late to hold back the double entrendee.
She tasted wonderful. *grin*

Sorry, needed to post quickly because I'm taking a lot of Gran's stuff to sell at a table-top sale soon. Just wanted to make sure I start posting and catching up with posting too.

Wrapping up loot from Dovan and his gang:
Claimed Items
1 +1 rapier - Zokon 2320
40 arrows - Zokon
4 darts - Zokon 2
1 masterwork chain shirt - Scarlet 250
1 potion of cure serious wounds - Scarlet
1 sap - Scarlet 1
1 masterwork backpack - Alia 50
1 set of thieves' tools - Posh 30
1 bag of caltrops - Posh 1
1 disguise kit - Posh 50
20 gp silver Stag Lord Amulet - Posh 20
Add them to party stuff:
1 club,
6 days of trail rations,
5 bed rolls,
5 blankets,
Bank these:
8 gp 4 daggers
30 gp 2 longswords
150 gp 2 longbows
5 gp 1 set of padded armor,
10 gp 1 set of leather armor,
50 gp 2 sets of studded leather armor,
Total 253 gp / 2 = 126.5 gp in the "bank".
Cash and Equivalent:
260 gp 2 turquoise earrings worth 130 gp each
30 gp = 3 pp (minted in Caliphas),
62 gp
20 gp = 200 sp (all coins of various mint).
Total 372 gp
==================================
GGGM: a couple questions about "the bank":
1. Are we allowed to bank coins and jewels we find? It seems weird to do so, but it would speed up our bank.
2. Any chance we can dump some of the stuff we've been carting around from before the "bank" rule came into effect and add that stuff to the bank?
==================================
Guys, it seems like we are burning a lot of CLW wand charges here. Maybe we should be getting another wand from the bank?

Zokon Santyev |

The +1 Rapier is being held by me til we get somewhere we can trade it in.. .

![]() |

No guarantee that Oleg has one. But the bank will if we want it to.

RPGGGM |

The +1 Rapier is being held by me til we get somewhere we can trade it in.. .
If no one is going to use it you can "auto trade" it with the bank. "Look I found a wand of cure light wounds in this mite lair!"

Zokon Santyev |

Can we do something like enchant a weapon, like Alia's long pokey stick, wow attaching this gem that I found will pass it's magic into the weapon?

Alia of the Blade |

Hey, my pokey stick will be magical enough!
If we take something of the sort from the bank, it should be some Smashy-thingie for le'Scarab, or a new "Abracadabra'-Sinew for the Rangers Bow.
Come Level 5, Alia will be a mobile upgrade-spot for equipment, anyway, so then we can spend all our banked wealth on CLW-wands! Yay!

Like Weapon Augment Crystals from 3.5?
They were a bit broken and I haven't seen them in any Pathfinder material.

Nah .. just a fancy way to say we are able to enchant a weapon on the fly rather than going through all the pesky tromp back to an enchanter and then get it done that way.

Alia of the Blade |

Aye, dynamic enchantment as needed would be broken.
*hides Arcane Pool*
Anybody called for an enchanter?
Just kidding, I read it the way Zokon meant, as a single-use way of upgrading equipment rather than "repurchasing" it.
Say you have a Headband giving +2 to Charisma, or a +1 Longbow, and want to have the +4 Headband/+2 Longbow, he's wondering if we can find a "upgrade" from the bank, or need to get a completely new item, then sell the old one regular, rather than pay the difference from bank - or, alternatively, find someone to upgrade them for us.
Admittedly, that should only be relevant with few items(Rings, anyone?) with you covering the catch-all Wondrous Items, and me covering all kinds of weaponry and armor(even that not in use. I will make great shields...Scarlet, you know you can shield bash, right? It's like being harder to hit while STILL wearing two weapons...)

![]() |

Ah, I see what you mean.
Or possibly a way to "discover" that your magic weapon had the keen property this whole time, and you just now realized how to activate it?

Yes, and fine unless it is something you have actually used.

RPGGGM |

Am I still affected by the tanglefoot bag? I can't find what round I was hit.
No.

![]() |

Yes, and fine unless it is something you have actually used.
This is what we have down from before:
To be sold:
Bridle and Saddle (6) from Numalar (from when I had a horse)
Small Light Crossbow (17.5) from Posh
Masterwork Breastplate x 2 (sell for 350)
Masterwork Chainmail (sell for 150)
Masterwork Club (sell for 150)
Masterwork Longbow (sell for 187.5)
Oil of magic stone (sell for 25)
potion of inflict moderate wounds (sell for 25)
The items in bold I'm pretty sure were never used. Nobody in the party uses medium armor. The longbow I think was carried by someone for a while though I'm not sure if it was ever used.
Numalar also is carrying a masterwork dagger he has never used which I might as well throw in there.
Celyne: Pretty sure you have never used your masterwork dagger. Want to throw it on the bank pile? Do you want to take the masterwork club instead, just to have a masterwork weapon (it does more damage)?

50 gp 2 sets of studded leather armor,
350 gp 2 sets of Masterwork Breastplate

150 gp Masterwork Club
151 gp small masterwork dagger (Numalar never used it)
4 gp 4 daggers
15 gp 2 longswords
75 gp 2 longbows
2.5 gp 1 set of padded armor,
5 gp 1 set of leather armor, (952.5)
260 gp 2 turquoise earrings worth 130 gp each
30 gp = 3 pp (minted in Caliphas),
62 gp
20 gp = 200 sp (all coins of various mint). (1324.5)
Total 1324.5 gp in the "bank".
Guys, we now have 1324.5 gp in the "Bank."
This is enough to pick up another wand of CLW. Shall we go for it?
Celyne and I are at the bottom of the heap treasure-wise. So I have gone ahead and asked GGGM for a minor item worth 90 gp. That leaves 484.5 gp in the bank assuming we get the wand.
Celyne, did you want anything for yourself?

Celyne |

Celyne will happily give up the mw dagger to add to the party pot. Nothing I can think of that Celyne wants within that budget, so I'll wait til we accumulate more, thanks.

Zokon Santyev |

Masterwork weapons give +1 to hit which is significant at this level if it comes to that Celyne needs to use a dagger I'm sure the +1 will be well worth it.

![]() |

My suggestion if you want to hang on to a MW weapon would be to take the masterwork club instead of the dagger. It does more damage, and can be thrown just as far.
But I agree that things might be pretty dire if Celyne has to get into melee.

Alia of the Blade |

May be. But a Dagger is simply more refined and elegant than a club. Even if it's a MW club.
Normally, Kingmaker should be one of the AP's where we have fewest problems with WBL in the long run, and plenty time to get ourselves properly outfitted.
So...what I'm trying to say: Style is more important than some extra wealth unless we'd be starved for something we need(such as the CLW).
Plus, that Masterwork Dagger can be used to mark trees, cut meat/cheese/bread or ropes, is easy and convenient to carry in a sheath, can sever silver cords on the astral plane, be used in personal hygiene/grooming, easy to clean or conceal...
That Club? Nothing of the sort...it's a clumsy weapon, from less refined times.

![]() |

I have a Dwarven Barbarian who would use a club to groom himself. And to mark trees. And to cut meat/cheese/bread or ropes. :)

RPGGGM |

I have an elf barbarian who marks her own trees. ;)

Alia of the Blade |

Alia can mark trees without tools, simply by squatting down near them :P
Though that would actually be a fun in-game contest...cutting a rope with a club. Obviously, creative solutions improve the chances of success.

Alia of the Blade |

Good idea, Scarlet...but then, is it the club that "cut" the rope, or the fire that "burned" the rope? That's what I meant, there's a few magical tricks to apply, but if it really needs to be the club doing the destruction, the list is a bit shorter - and not usually the kind of stuff one has prepared.
I am pretty certain the dwarf barbarian also uses the club to "break" the rope, rather than cut it. I may be mistaken, of course.

Scarlet Scarab |

Huh, I never expected to pin a giant tick. Had my next character rolled up and everything.

Alia of the Blade |

If that 16 hits, I may have managed to save you from another Vermin trying to make a snack of you :)
I see a pattern there. But grats on the pin!(Should have waited if I had guessed you'd succeed...but wanted to take advantage of grapple meaning it could not take AoO's...if you had failed to maintain, my actions would have been more risky.)

Zokon Santyev |

Bag loot
12 small spears, 243 cp, 180 sp, and 48 gp

Scarlet Scarab |

Scarlet, down to 1 HP, will drink the potion of cure serious wounds if no one objects.
Uh, how do we get the statue out of here?

RPGGGM |

Uh, how do we get the statue out of here?
It is relatively small and weighs about 6 lbs.

Celyne |

Heads up all... I am going to Gamex this weekend... we leave early in the morning and not sure when/if I'll be able to check in before Monday night... If I can post, it will be limited in time with brief posts... Please feel free to bot me if I'm holding things up... thanks...

RPGGGM |

Have fun but don't play anything I wouldn't. ;)

Actually someone asked JJ why the reward for the radishes was so high. His response was that it was an appropriate level of treasure for the encounter, but to go ahead and do it differently if you want to make it more plausible.
Yeah, technically, because of party size, for you guys it should be 375 gp! (There's that number again.) But, considering you could buy five horses for the same amount it seemed a bit ridiculous that Svetlana (who is essentially a mail-order bride) would have access to that much disposable income, or even if she did, use it to pay for one meal. Plus, later on down the road when the place is a kingdom who the hell cares about silver mines, and magic item shops--all of our realm's wealth is made from the organically-grown radishes we sell to disruptive, health-conscious, (47th) millennial, Brevic tech entrepreneurs!!
