It didn't seem fair though when I knew what the DCs were in advance.

GUYS:

Time for a loot discussion.

#1: GGGM: Any chance that the Light Shields could be cut down into buckler shields? If they are bucklers then Zokon and Celyne can both use them while using archery. As it stands we have no light/heavy shield users in the party. Scarlet and Illthir both use two hands for weapons, and Alia needs to keep a hand free for casting. Zokon could use one but would have to take the time to don it after putting his bow down, and the same applies to Celyne.

#2: Celyne: You said you wanted the masterwork quarterstaff. It is worth pointing out that I believe you have a masterwork morning star, and that will do more damage than the staff, and only requires one hand to use instead of two. You could use a shield while carrying the morning star. Edit: Looking back, you never did respond when I asked you if you wanted one of those.

#3: Zokon: Would you want the Mwk Greatsword? You won't be able to use a buckler with it, but it will do a lot more damage than the rapier (even though it's not magical). Or Illthir might want it, though she does have a masterwork Lucerne Hammer already.

#4: I'm going to go ahead and assume that the other items will be successfully identified by someone. So the boots of elvenkind add to acrobatics. Even though Zokon has the biggest share of loot right now, it would make sense to me if he got them as he actually has sneak attack dice. Unless anyone has a better idea.

My brief thoughts on the loot!

@Flaming Crossbow Bolts - There's eleven of them, the amount was hidden in the spoiler.

@Illthir - I actually considered both sword and board and greatsword for her when I built her, but in the end reach weaponry seemed like the most fun. I think I'll keep it this way for now.

Also in general I think she is among the most well equipped seeing as she was made with full wealth by level : )

@Divination Sticks - Aren't stuff like this focus for some spells? Might be worth to hang on to if anyone is thinking about getting any Divinations.

@Wedding Gown - This seems like oddly specific loot. Maybe we should hang on to it just in case?

Steel shields are different enough from bucklers that I'm going to say no.

A good point. You have come to the end of the first leg of your explorations, with the winding (light blue) path (on the Regional Map) back, and through a horde of brigands, yet to take.

There are other concerns as well. Your fangberries (for the hermit Bokken) are getting soft with age. You have accomplished a couple of other missions for which there are rewards you can only claim in more civilized lands. Your discovery of the defiled forest cave/temple of Erastil. There is a strange fey amnesiac waiting outside this very cave. The fact that Sir Didymus didn't get to hang his head over the side of a mine cart as it raced along. Your promise to Davik Nettle's ghost. Etc....

I'd like to head back to Olegs, and possibly on to Restov if necessary. The truce we have made with the Kobolds satisfies a quest that we have fulfilled, but we have to report this to the Magister to get our reward.

Also the reward for settling the Sootscales has grown with time (and your levels). You don't have to go directly to Restov to contact the Magister, you can do it via courier from Oleg's

We are in a weird sort of pseudo-downtime-ish place here. It is sort of why I kind of wanted to wait to level up until the group had dealt with the mountain o' stuff (and it is a mountain if you didn't notice you didn't look hard enough) I just threw at you, but I didn't want to leave it for the middle of the week either when folks might be too busy, so yeah. I'd say use whatever easily renewable healing you have on Numalar and Zokon and then rest and then level up.

Regarding loot:

It's Boots of Elvenkind ^_^ as in Elf!
That said, yeah, I've been consistently using acrobatics and would appreciate them.
While Zokon does have Sneak, he's the bow-user...it could make sense to give it to him, but I'd also be more capable of getting into flanking positions so they wouldn't be wasted on me for combat potential, either.

Plus, I want to try and complete the Elvenkind set...cloak, boots, etc - I'm very curious about the set bonus it gives *grin*

Regarding the miscellaneous("Don't know what to do with these"):
A rather explicit love poem to an unnamed woman signed F.A.
- I would say either return it to, or tease Fan Auric with it.
A metal plate bearing the inscription: "To the Fairest."
- Carry it along, take a closer look...does it seem like a plaque? Was it attached to something? Something attached to it? Metal plates are usually preferred for those purposes...
A lucky mite toe on a string.
- That's Mikmeks share of the treasure! He did help Celyne by making that Strenght Check! Plus he can use all the luck he can get, being the tribes hero and champion...

Lots of other stuff: Much of it is going to bank, I suppose. That said, I can already make bucklers...I just need another level(to 5) before I can magic them up. But if we want those for Celyne and Zokon, just say a word. I can retrieve some raw materials from the bank, certainly they had all kind of stuff in that pile...

Also, I'm being lazy, but Numalar, you're our book-keeper...could you make one post with the grand total? Maybe thrown in with the individual claim-sums so no extra page is needed opened? I feel that would help judge the validity and options of bank-withdrawal-claims.

In case you were wondering, our current loot system is to throw everything into a single pile. People who want individual things claim them as needed - better to use an item if it is useful than sell it at only half price. If people sell off items the cash goes back into the party pool.

People who want to buy things are welcome to do so as long as it is understood that the people who are behind in goods should get to pick first. The total value of stuff that people pull from the pile is tracked for this reason.

But we aren't tracking consumable items since A) otherwise once they're used up the character's wealth goes down, and B) it takes less paperwork. If consumable items get sold off the cash goes into the general pool as well.

Right now Celyne and I are behind because as full casters most of the treasure we tend to find isn't that useful for us.

NUMALAR RECOMMENDS!

A few suggestions for people to draw from the bank. I am assuming right now that when we hit 5th level Alia will start magicking up weapons and armor like crazy, so I'll stick to masterwork stuff for now:

Celyne: You are getting pretty far behind. I'm not really sure where you plan to go with your character but I would suggest:
* Masterwork Darkwood Buckler Shield 205 gp. Can be worn while shooting the crossbow. Only weighs 2.5 pounds because your STR is only 10.
* Mithral Chain Shirt 1100 gp. Even when your CHA goes up to 22 you will still get full benefit from your CHA-to-AC revelation. Unless you were planning on holding out for a Mithral Breastplate which would be 4200 gp.
* Masterwork Darkwood Light Crossbow 375 gp. Only weighs 2 pounds.

Aside from that you could put some $ aside from Numalar to make stuff.

Zokon: you are doing pretty good but you might as well ask for:
* Masterwork Darkwood Buckler Shield 205 gp. Can be worn while shooting the longbow. Alia can enchant it later.

Scarlet: You have lots of masterwork weapons but you are falling behind the other martials.
* Mithral Chain Shirt 1100 gp.

I'm not going to worry about Alia right now because I think she has a good idea of what she wants and she is also in the cash lead. I don't know Illthir's character well enough to know what she wants yet but I'll have a look.

Numalar would probably want:
* Small Masterwork Darkwood Light Crossbow 355 gp. Only weighs 1 pound. Good to save on weight.

Hand to hand fighters rely on their weapons.

Alia and Scarlet need magical weapons.. If I remember rightly due to RP Alia will only use stuff she has made.. no idea how to get around that.. if not we need to get her magic stuff! Tm.

Zokon could use a bow +1 with the 1kgp enchant that caters to all strength bonuses.

I'll need a mithral chain shirt eventually...

Scarlet will probably need better armour soon as well ..maybe mithral breastplate.

Spellcasters are hard to help.. saves boosters.

Maybe some utility items like ring of sustenance for that less sleep needed thing.

We can, of course, get those now. The question is: is it worth it to get that stuff now or wait until we can craft them for half price?

A vial of oil of magic weapon costs only 50 gp.

The ring of sustenance is a good idea and will be good for Numalar once he starts crafting as it allows me to craft 500 gp worth of stuff per day while travelling instead of 250 gp. Same for Alia once she starts making magic weapons. Rings in general we can't make until 9th level at least.

Numalar can make a headband of alluring charisma or a belt of giant strength as it stands. I can make a cloak of resistance. I didn't include those things because right now I am talking about stuff to get immediately from the bank.

Illthir has a traveller's any-tool but we can always get more. I think we wanted a skeleton key as well?

I do have a bunch of things I want to make for myself.

With the total stuff we have right now, the total claims plus the amount we could potentially get from the bank we are looking at a total of 26683.8 gp. Divide that six ways and you get 4447.3 gp. Theoretically that is the amount everyone should be at wealth-wise.

Crafting changes the equation a fair bit though. We basically double our money if we wait for things to get crafted, as long as they are things we can make.

@Illthir possessions - Mkay. Technically she only has about ~2700gp worth of stuff, due to some of it being "free" consumables :P

I can do a better tally come the weekend.

@Illthir wants - A Circlet of Persuasion eventually. Really handy to have when you are substituting stuff for charisma, like skills trough versatile performance.

A bit expensive though so maybe a bit into the future : )

Also come summer she'll probably want a horse. Skiing gets so bloody hard on bare ground ... :P

@Illthir have - Scribe Scroll. If someone knows the Magic Weapon spell we can work together to build a small stockpile of scrolls (a bit cheaper then the oil if a bit harder to use).

Or any other scrolls we feel like!

Also, @Magical weapons: Due to the class feature from 3rd Level, my blade would, theoretically, be +1 all the time - but no situation took place yet where it would have made sense for it to awaken.
Regardless, I can spend a point from my Arcane Pool to give it +1 Enhancement for 2 Minutes, so it's not much of a problem.
And yes, I only want to use (arms and armor)-stuff I craft myself. So even if the boots of Elvenkind put me ahead, I should probably get working on some Masterwork Chainshirt soon -_-
So yeah, raw materials for that would be appreciated(at Level 7, I can upgrade to a Mithral Breast Plate(agile) so going for/waiting for Special Material now is probably overkill.)

But yeah, if we can wait until Level 5 with the magic armor+weapon stuff, I can set you guys up pretty nicely.

Hey, I said I wanted to wait :) No worries. It's ROLE-play, after all, not ROLL-play. If there had been a situation where that +1 would have made a serious difference...*shrug*
Plus it seems like a more rapid power increase, as it will turn to +2 on Level 5, which also happens to be when the Arcane Pool Bonus goes from +1 to +2...meaning if I power it up I'll have a +4 weapon at Level 5. Yay :)

Anyone interested in a Tier 1-5 (high tier so character levels 4-5 or a solid 3) PFS game of Hall of the Flesh Eaters. Are pirates, booty, jungles, booty, ancient dungeon complexes, did I mention booty, and necromancy your thing? Then it is a pirates life for you!
