"You oedd y cynffonnau? Pa mor ddefnyddiol. Beth am Rhowch un gyfnewid am slaying y Bwystfil?" Leonard scratches himself idly.

Aklo:
"You found the tails? How helpful. How about you give us one in return for slaying that beast?"

Strange Aeons Grp 2 |

"O na! Mae tails yn gwneud gobennydd meddal, nid ydym yn rhoi cynffonau i chi oni bai eich bod yn dod o hyd i ni fwy o gath i'w fwyta!" One of the zoogs answer.

Aklo:
Oh no! Tails make soft pillow, we no give you tails unless you find us bigger cat to eat!

Aklo:

On following the Zoog's directions, the party goes off an eastern direction.

30 min later

The leaves and branches in this section of the forest canopy are open to the deep blue sky above and are bathed in bright sunlight.

The party sees a human who is bound, gagged, and staked to a leaf with wide thorns. He shakes his head slowly but definitively shakes his head side with wide eyes to side to warn them away.

Claude fort: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19

Claude Fort: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
Leonard Fort: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24

Claude suddenly finds that a film of darkness coats over his eyes! The party looks around but sees nothing.

Party up, Slide 12

Howard wrinkes his nose.

"Well, you are now useless, aren't you?"

Shaking his head, he leaves Claude to his fate...

Concentration: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (19) + 11 = 30.

...fading from existence.

Claude, snarling, furiously lacerates himself...

12d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 2, 2, 6, 6, 4, 3, 6, 4, 3, 3) = 45 damage.

Concentration: 1d20 + 7 + 6 - 3 ⇒ (15) + 7 + 6 - 3 = 25.

...and, likewise, disappears.

Strange Aeons Grp 2 |

Howard and a rather lacerated Claude find themselves back on the Sellen Starling, and hear Monty sprouting bad poetry in the corner.

Aklo:

Oh woe, woe, woe is with me.
I'm stranded away from home.
I'm in such misery.

Sorry can't do the Welsh translation, it wouldn't rhyme

Shesha on seeing Howard wake up, tugs at him, alarmed. "Howard, mae rhywbeth o'i le gyda Monty! Nid yw erioed wedi bod mor ddiflas o'r blaen."

Aklo:

Howard, there's something wrong with Monty! He's never been that depressed before.

"Yeah fel arfer mae'n meddwl bywyd fel antur wych. A wnaeth yr ergyd hwnnw at ei ben yn y Dreamlands niweidio ei synnwyr digrifwch?" Verdigris looks at Monty worriedly.

Aklo:

Yeah usually he thinks life as a great adventure. Did that blow to his head in the Dreamlands damage his sense of humor?

Howard realizes that the staircase has shrunk to its normal size, and the red glow of dawn indicates it will be sunrise soon.

"Mae'n swnio ei fod yn eithaf isel. Mae'n ffodus, dyna'r cyfan a ddigwyddodd - pan fydd eich breuddwydio yn marw yn y Dreamlands, tra bod eich corff yn byw yn y byd deffro, caiff eich meddwl ei thorri mewn rhyw ffordd, ar ôl dychwelyd."

Aklo:
"It sounds like he is quite depressed. He is lucky that is all that happened - when your dreaming self dies in the Dreamlands, whilst your body resides in the waking world, your mind is fractured in some way, upon your return."

"Dylech fod wedi dweud wrthym yn gynharach!" Verdigris scolds Howard.

Aklo:

You should have told us that earlier! Before we went to Dreamlands with you!

Just to make it official, at the time of this post

When Howard wakes up, he finds himself perfectly fine, as if he was never Lady Udrenda Splinterbone's drink...

Howard looks legitimately surprised.

'I probably should have spoken with the rat things, but their so icky.' Seamus follows along behind his friends, shocked that Claude and Howard are gone so quickly. He nods does as Vincent says, hiding behind Leonard.

Leonard looks confused for a moment, then quickly begins chanting. The tattoo on his left hand writhes and pulsates to it's own inaudible rhythm. He follows Vincent warily.

Having trouble viewing the slide for internet related reasons, but I'll move halfway to Vincent, rounded down, unless that would exclude him from the haste radius, in which case I'll prioritize him over Seamus.

Strange Aeons Grp 2 |

Vincent reflex save: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11

As Vincent does his mad charge towards the bound, gagged and staked human, the humans eyes widen in shock and alarm and he meeps. Then branches as well as the leaf they are stepping on give way, dumping both Vincent and the man onto the forest floor. At the bottom of the forest floor is a 30 ft deep pit of corrosive spores. The man as he crashes heavily on the floor makes muffled, "Mmmph Mmmph Mmmph! Mmmph!"

falling damage Vincent: 8d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 2, 6, 5, 5, 3, 5) = 35
acid damage from corrosive spores Vincent: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 4, 2) = 13

Vincent takes 48 points of damage total

falling damage Man: 8d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 3, 2, 4, 6, 2, 1) = 24
acid damage from corrosive spores Man: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 4, 1, 5) = 13

The man takes 37 points of falling damage total.

Still want to run the man through? You can if you want...

Issue why I didn't let you auto spot the trap was because I get that you were trying to look for whoever was doing weird stuff.

Red area is where the branches and leaves fell off, so it is no longer passable

Every round you're in the pit, both you and the man take 4d6 corrosive damage from the spores.

Assuming that still lands in the pit how much reach to get out? Long arm plus 1/day 5ft reach gives me 20ft from the ground. If I can reach the edge I will pull myself out otherwise I will leave like Howard did.

Retired to Taldor?

"Hey! I can't see anything!" realizing something has gone wrong, Seamus begins to sing, attempting to inspire his friends. "I hold you in my arms..."

inspire + 2

Strange Aeons Grp 2 |

It's a little hard since you weren't actively looking at it, just all around. Perception technically you have to declare square and search, and I figured you were looking for the things. Even with inspiration, reflex fails.

Vincent manages to pull himself out of the pit and gets on the forest floor.

The man continues to give muffled yelps as the corrosive spores dissolve him.

Mans acid damage: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 1, 6) = 16

He seems slightly resistant to acid.

The fortunate thing is that the corrosive spores dissolve the leaf that was tying the man down, as well as his bonds. He pulls out his gag as he suddenly grows a pair of golden wings and flies out of the pit, into the forest. "Thanks awfully. I was trying to warn all of you of the trap but you charged right into it. I'm outta here."

Vincent - you're at the forest floor, 120ft below where the fight is taking place.

Strange Aeons Grp 2 |

On top of the canopy

Leonard tries to wake himself up, but doesn't quite manage it.

Leonard hears the fluttering of wings in the air, then feels four daggers strike at him, and the fluttering of wings again.

dagger: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (3) + 12 = 15
dagger: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (1) + 12 = 13

Fort save Leonard: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11

One of the daggers get through his chainshirt, nicking his lung and he feels the insidious poison on it weaken him.

Leonard takes 1 point str drain. Also 18 points of damage.

The next round, the afflicted character can choose to attempt another saving throw to end the effect, but if she fails, she becomes scared instead. A scared character can choose to attempt another saving throw to become shaken again, but if she fails, she becomes frightened for 1d6 rounds instead.

Seamus awakens back on the Sellen Starling, relieved to see the continuous flame lamps still lit up, abeit dimly.

Seamus only:

You have this vague impression of being stabbed multiple times in the dark, and you know that once the lights go out...a horrible fate awaits you...

Leonard and Seamus are relieved to see that they can finally see again, and find there is no trace of whatever insidious poison they were subject to in their system.

Right but it's your physical body in the dreamland's not in real life, which shouldn't carry over? Unless you're stabbing yourself in your sleep? Lol

Spells:

Not sure what the flavor means, but initially I assumed that referred to damage that would stay after you woke. I think both readings are supported by the text.

Ritual text

Casters can step forward to descend this staircase together; doing so puts the Material Plane bodies of the casters to sleep and thrusts their psyches into the Dreamlands.

Your psyches ended up in there. Your physical body isn't there. I'll assume what you're doing for waking up is a massive psychic overload to yourself.

No problem. But I think it's supposed to be homage to the "pinch me" thing and be damage to your body in dreamland's ;)

Vincent heals the two Roll for yourselves as needed

Strange Aeons Grp 2 |

No need. Just get Seamus to heal everyone up later. You're going to rest for 8h since it's already sunrise.

If it was all Damage in the Dreamlands then the worst that could happen is you kill your Dreamlands form, which is a paradox because how do you kill something which is not there? Doesn't make sense...

Not to mention each time you manifest in the Dreamlands, it's a reflection of yourself in Golarion, so you're essentially fully healed. And items used in Dreamlands are not consumed in the Golarion

So any damage done to your Dreamlands forms would be no damage at all, and equity states if you want the benefit, you must bear the burden.

Vincent rubs his eyes, So I fell in a pit of acid. Looks like we all made it out, but still no tail. We need to go back in.

Strange Aeons Grp 2 |

Shesha and Siriss finally manage to convince a moping Monty to get some sleep, saying that things will be better tomorrow.

Day 7

The party sleeps for the rest of the day, except for Howard and Leonard then makes plans to go back to the Enchanted Forest the very night. The day is exceptionally rainy and stormy as Captain Skywind tries her best to keep the ship on course. Howard glimpses the longship with ambersails tailing them, some distance behind. Then there is a flash of lightning, then the ship is gone. Seamus and Vincent wake up later that evening, feeling slightly nauseous after sleeping on a ship in stormy weather.

Just fluff, no mechanical effects. But you might get seasick sleeping in a boat going on rough waters.

I'll break the post up because it gets long

Seamus please retcon the heals on the party, I rather not try to count how many spells you have etc...I'm lazy =)

Strange Aeons Grp 2 |

Decided to let Vincent's investigator level count as caster levels for the purpose of this ritual, so he autopasses the caster level check at the end. Also for waking up - he may use his Character level + int modifier, instead of his cha modifier which is a negative.

The party performs the ritual with Vincent leading.

Vincent drinks his alchemical allocation extract, then drinks his potion of heroism and spits it back out.

The party sits in a circle as Vincent begins to chant the incantation with Howard, Leonard and Seamus supporting him.

"We, The Seekers, are bound by a common purpose - the thirst for knowledge."

Vincent knowledge arcana: 1d20 + 15 + 1d6 ⇒ (7) + 15 + (3) = 25

He then passes the miniature ivory and horn staircase to Howard, who feels each of its 70 steps.

"We have gathered this very night in order to open the gate to the Dreamlands."

Vincent knowledge arcana: 1d20 + 15 + 1d6 ⇒ (4) + 15 + (3) = 22

Howard passes the miniature ivory and horn staircase to Leonard, who feels eager of its 70 steps. The miniature ivory and horn staircase is now heavier. The continuous flame lights seem to dim.

"For beyond lies the knowledge we seek."

Vincent knowledge planes: 1d20 + 15 + 1d6 ⇒ (6) + 15 + (6) = 27

Leonard passes the ivory and horn staircase to Seamus, who feels eager of its 70 steps. Seamus realizes the staircase has now grown bigger.

"Let the portal open between this world and the Enchanted Forest"

Vincent knowledge planes: 1d20 + 15 + 1d6 ⇒ (16) + 15 + (4) = 35

Seamus passes the staircase back to Vincent, who feels each of its 70 steps.

Vincent takes a deep breath, then drops the staircase in the center of the ring made by the party.

Vincent knowledge planes: 1d20 + 15 + 1d6 ⇒ (16) + 15 + (2) = 33

Vincent feels the staircase sap his life energy. The party sees the staircase sinks into the ship deck, expanding to the size of a normal staircase and leads downwards into darkness...

Backlash damage to Vincent: 2d6 ⇒ (3, 2) = 5

The party moves towards the staircase, and fall fast asleep the moment they touch it.

They find themselves falling through cold darkness…then they see a speck of light in front of them. Moving towards it, the party finds themselves in arriving on wide, flat branch of an enormous oak tree, drained from their ordeal.

backlash Howard: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 4) = 6
Backlash Seamus: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 3) = 5
Backlash Leonard: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 3) = 9
Backlash Vincent: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 4) = 5

Smaller branches end in sprays of wide, sturdy leaves and connect to the branches of other trees throughout this arboreal landscape. However, this time there is a marked difference. The wide sturdy leaves are splattered with blood and the chewed up bones of Zoogs lie strewn around a small eight legged beast with golden fur and a fox tail.

Howard Knowledge arcana: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (18) + 14 = 32
Vincent knowledge arcana: 1d20 + 13 + 1d6 ⇒ (11) + 13 + (2) = 26
Leonard knowledge arcana: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (7) + 12 = 19

Howard and Vincent recognize the creature as a Aurumvorax.
Aurumvoraxes are very aggressive creatures, and lead solitary lives except when they mate. Adults typically claim the hunting area within a mile of their warrens, ruthlessly driving away other predators. In addition to fresh meat, aurumvoraxes are fond of gnawing on metals (particularly gold and copper), though whether they do this to sharpen their teeth or because of some nutritional need is unknown. Aurumvorax warrens can stretch for thousands of feet, often winding deep into the earth. The avaricious appetite of aurumvoraxes has earned them the appellation "golden gorger" among dwarves, who have lost more than a few miners to the dangerous beasts.

It has DR 10/piercing or slashing and it can grab with its claws, up to medium size creatures. It has ferocity.

The Aurumvorax notices the party and gives a warning growl as they approach.

The party does not notice any more zoogs peeping out from the holes of the trunk of the tree – in fact – those tree holes look damaged, as if something forced its way in in a hurry, and the edges of those holes have been splattered with blood and have tufts of zoog fur on them.

Now what? Slide 11

Half-Elf Investigator (Bonded) 9 / Magus (VMC); HP 81/81, Init +1, Perception +18+1d8, +4 vs traps; Vorq Perception +15+1d8; AC 18/FF 16/T 12, +3 vs traps; Fort +7, Ref +8, Will +8, +3 vs traps; CMB +11, CMD 22; Inspiration (1d8+2) 8/8; Arcane Pool (+2) 8/8;

Vincent memorizes see invisibility in the empty second level slot. Let Seamus go first if he is inspiring courage for extra dmg.

Not wanting to get too close Vincent moves forward, charging his spear and stabbing.

Attack charge, PA, flaming and frost: 1d20 + 10 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (20) + 10 + 2 - 2 = 30
Damage: 1d8 + 7 + 6 + 2d6 ⇒ (8) + 7 + 6 + (5, 2) = 28

Crit, inspire: 1d20 + 10 + 2 - 2 + 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 10 + 2 - 2 + (5) + 1 = 24
Damage: 2d8 + 14 + 12 ⇒ (7, 7) + 14 + 12 = 40

I assume no buff time otherwise add 4 to attack and 3 to damage from heroism and mutagen

Strange Aeons Grp 2 |

You could always drink before you take the staircase... And yes, you're learning, Vincent. Excellent =)

Seamus init: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
Howard Init: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
Leonard Init: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
Vincent Init: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16
Aurumvorax Init: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17

The Aurumvorax sees the party attacking and gets ready to defend itself.

Seamus and Leonard, then the Aurumvorax, don't worry Vincent I'll save that roll to be used on this fight.

Ok cool so long buffs are on, heroism, mutagen, barkskin. +4 attack, +3 dmg, +3 ac? I think. Haste and monstrous in 3rd level slots (not cast just prepped).

Strange Aeons Grp 2 |

Seamus starts singing to inspire the party.

Retired to Taldor?

earlier
"That was unbelievably scary! I don't ever want to be left in the dark again!" Shaken to his core, Seamus wakes up, relieved there is light in the room, looking around at his injured friends, "Ok, Leonard first and then Claude, just hold still for a moment, and I will heal you." He then looks to the others, "But you guys have to keep the lights on, even when I sleep, I'm not kidding I'm afraid of the dark!"

cmw: 2d8 + 7 ⇒ (5, 3) + 7 = 15
cmw: 2d8 + 7 ⇒ (7, 7) + 7 = 2136 total for Leonard
cmw: 2d8 + 7 ⇒ (6, 5) + 7 = 18
cmw: 2d8 + 7 ⇒ (1, 5) + 7 = 13
clw: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
clw: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6 46 total for Claud

Now
"Oh dear, I wonder what happed to the Zoogs. Do you think they left the tails so we don't have to kill this beast?" Seeing the Aurumvoraxes turn and snarl at the party, Seamus begins to sing, attempting to inspire the party. "I get up in the evening..."

I can't tell exactly from the map, but I think 30' should get me in range.

Leonard sends a rush of flame down Angliliath, closes his crackling left fist tightly, and charges forward.

Casting shocking grasp, moving forward, and delivering the touch with my weapon. Flaming and keen for 1 arcane point.

Attack+inspire: 1d20 + 11 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 11 + 2 = 25

I really need to see a member of the crew about a femur...

Also, I would caste haste, but I'm hoping we can just kill it in one round. It might turn out to be stronger than I anticipated, in which case someone might get grabbed.
