Even some of the core classes could fulfil more than one of those roles. A cleric is often pretty good in a dust-up. Not as good as fighter, of course, but not bad.
I just wanted to try a skald because it's a cool class. Taking advantage of his own rage song, he's way more useful in a dust up than arcane types should be. Not enough skill points to make a good skill monkey, but can lend a hand in that role.
It would be interesting to see what the final selection will be. Would be kind of funny if it was a party of all-hybrid classes!

The closest I came to a "homogeneous race" game was my brother's live play PF game. At one point, including both PCs and NPCs, about 2/3 of the party was half-elves.
Of the core races, I'm partial to Half-Orcs in PF. A lot more versatile than the old AD&D version where they were as strong and tough as an ox, but not as bright as one.

While I think the various hybrid classes are interesting, I went straight plain vanilla fighter because I thought that the custom race made him different enough. Besides, if you were building something for pure combat, there is a limit to the number of bells and whistles you would put on it. Granted that our modern military equipment is arguably over engineered, but main battle tanks do not normally come equipped with large screen HD tvs, surround sound, and cold drink dispensers. :-)

Feedback has been given. If it hasn't then I probably could not find the link to your character or I skipped you. Still 2 days, good luck.
Edit: also to bring this up. Mithril stuff in this game isn't automatically masterwork stuff, as you must pay the extra 150/300 gold to make it masterwork. You can upgrade your stuff in later scenarios just like in PFS. So instead of having to buy a new mithril shirt that is +2, you can just change your masterwork mithril shirt into a +2 one buy paying the difference of 4000 GP.
Also you must make masterwork before you make +1. So a chain shirt costs 100 gold, while a masterwork chain shirt is 250 gold, 100+150 gold, and a +1 chain shirt is really a masterwork +1 chain shirt is 1250 gold, 100+150+1000 gold.

@Line:
Yes, it is pretty difficult to beat Fighters for, well, fighting!
There's lots of cool class archetypes archetypes and races to choose from too. That's something that appeals to me about PF.
While I am partial to Half-Orcs, I also like trying other races when I can. I have been playing a Dhampir bloodrager in another campaign. Undead bloodline, of course! Makes things interesting if you play something out of the ordinary!

@DoubleGold:
Thanks for that! I'll stick with the masterwork mithral. Mostly so there's effectively no Armour Check penalties for wearing it. I wanted speed and mobility, even if it meant making a slightly lower AC.
To make up for the lower AC, I got the Infernal Healing wand and the Barkskin potion.
The idea is to have him mostly buff up allies with rage song. But also to join in the fighting too at opportune times.
I think he's got potential.

Never played Kobolds before, myself. Only small race I've played were gnomes. My skald won't have a fun pet like a dragon. But he can sure thump people better than your ordinary bard! Muahahaha!
no you miss understand a kobold is a dragon the pet is a ...lesser dragon (Monitor lizard lol)
Taicho Blackfeather |
Taicho stands up straight holding one foot of the ground, standing on the other, he looks at the kobold tilting his head to the left and repeats back Xildhal's words in a reasonable imitation
"you my rise, its good to see some know a true dragon when they see one..."
he then tilts his head to the right and says
是真龙没有翅膀
yes true dragons have no wings
he then places his foot back on the ground and starts to chase after a leaf being blown from a tree

That's still a pretty big "pet"!

Group 2, you will all start Sunday, as that is my day off from work and can start writing things up. Please note, while I will follow the module and change things around, please expect things to be slightly different from group 1 to group 2. So just because something worked in group 1, it might have a slightly different effect in group 2. You would be up against the same enemies or variants of the same enemies. You might run into a very specific person and I might keep him a human as is, but make him and elf here, meaning slightly different abilities and stats. Or group 1 runs into the pathfinder zombie while you run into the Hollywood zombie where you need call shot to the head to actually kill them, etc. You might run into the same scenarios but with slight alterations.
