Eri la Grave |

Given her guise as an innocent young girl that does not speak, Eri just stands in her chair and watches the new stranger with keen interest. After looking at her for a while she thinks silently to herself, Could this woman really be Tiadora? She had so much power over the Inn Keeper last night. He did everything she asked without hesitation or question....can she be trusted? I highly doubt that Cyrus is going to tell her anything in such a public place. He doesn't even tell us what he's up to half the time and acts like I should just know stuff. Hmph....well...we'll see what happens. Maybe the Cardinal felt that he should send someone to keep an eye on us....or maybe it's not Tiadora at all....still...I wonder.

Eri la Grave |

Does Eri recognize any of those smells from anywhere else? She was trying to see if the elf woman smelled like Tiadora did back at the manor. Either the elf woman is Tiadora, Lamashtu, or she really is just some strange elf lady that knows things she shouldn't know. I think one of the first two is more likely. It's the only thing that makes sense with what Eri felt when she first met her.

Eri la Grave |

To be fair, you couldn't really expect him to divulge anything to someone that we don't even know. Despite the fact that she knew things she shouldn't have...we have no reason to trust her.
As the red head leaves she gives Ravan a confused look.

Eri la Grave |

You just told us that you found a secret tunnel in the basement that leads to the Balentyne. You didn't tell us what you found there or anything, but yeah...he told us. There's no way of knowing if she's some kind of goody goody spy or someone that's just waiting to capitalize on our efforts so why would he tell someone like that anything? Especially not in a public place where we're supposed to be keeping a low profile. It just wouldn't make sense and wouldn't even be something Eri would do, whether she feels like she should know them from somewhere or not. We don't divulge anything to anyone without positive ID. That's bad guy hiding out in good guy territory rule number 1.

Eri la Grave |

After watching the strange elf lady leave she watches the people for a while. When their food arrives she sits down in her seat and eats slowly while listening to the chatter around them.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
Unfortunately there is so much noise that it's difficult to distinguish one conversation from the next. She just shakes her head and continues to eat, taking small careful bites and sips on her orange juice.

Eri la Grave |

She looks around to try and determine who was having the conversation. If she could figure out who they were talking about, she could tell Ravan about it back at the room...maybe after breakfast and maybe she could get some information out of the captain...correction, she was pretty damn sure Ravan could get anything out of anyone she wanted to. At least she had a name to give her, it was a starting point at least. They had to start gathering information somehow.

GM Scary Ceiling Voice |

"Mad Martin is a strange one."
"Doesn't he tend the rookery in the Watchtower?"
"Yep, they say he never leaves, except for necessities. Hells, he even talks to the birds like people and has named every one of them."

Eri la Grave |

She files the information away in her mind to give to the others later. She would let them decide what to do with it. At least they had a couple different options now.

Eri la Grave |

The noise starting to give her a headache she just remains in her seat after finishing up her breakfast. She manages to finish nearly everything on her plate except for half of a biscuit. She drinks the rest of her orange juice slowly and quietly as she waits for the others to get done. As she sits there she starts thinking about other things and sort of stares off into space.

Eri la Grave |

She wasn't sure how to let Ravan know that she needed to talk to her. Standing up in her chair she turns to Ravan and makes sure she's looking in her eyes. She points to herself, then to Ravan, and then points upstairs while holding up five fingers to try and let her know she just needs to talk to her for a couple minutes first.

Cyrus Darkwater |

"I'll have a look around town, browse the market for awhile, pick up a few souvenirs perhaps." Seth answers between sips of his coffee.

Eri la Grave |

She just nods, she would have to find a way later to tell Cyrus and Ruedo about what she heard about the watchtower. Though she thought if she told Ravan that Ravan could tell them later. Cyrus would be more likely to listen to Ravan than her anyways.

Eri la Grave |

Once they get into the room and Ravan closes the door she lets out a breath, "Okay...I overheard someone talking about this Captain Zack Edderly guy and it sounds like he might be a good lead. They were saying that he was handsome and how he's still unmarried and that he would be a good catch for someone of the proper breeding...whatever that means. He might be someone you can get some useful information out of with your....particular talents. Also there was some conversation about some guy that practically never leaves the watchtower and talks to birds or something. He tends the rookery in the watchtower and his name is...well, they called him Mad Martin....so I don't know how helpful that will be...but I guess it's better than nothing. I guess kinda mingle and see if you can get more information on that captain guy...or maybe find out who he is? I'm gonna go find a bakery, I'm out of cookies and I need more." She says while slinging her backpack over her shoulder with her money pouch in it. Giving Ravan a smirk she says, "Don't worry, I'm just going for cookies. I'll behave myself."

Ravanalonna |

Ravan smiles at Eri's borderline cookie addiction. "Alright, I'll probably spend the next few hours making my way around downstairs. Have fun."
The sorcerss heads back downstairs, her clothing shifting to being just a bit tighter in some places, and looser in others, definitely shorter in the hem, as she proceeds to work her way into becoming the life of the common room.
Diplomacy (to gather information): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (10) + 11 = 21
Takes: 1d4 ⇒ 2 Hours
Gather Information
You can use Diplomacy to gather information about a specific topic or individual. To do this, you must spend at least 1d4 hours canvassing people at local taverns, markets, and gathering places. The DC of this check depends on the obscurity of the information sought, but for most commonly known facts or rumors it is 10. For obscure or secret knowledge, the DC might increase to 20 or higher. The GM might rule that some topics are simply unknown to common folk

Eri la Grave |

Before they leave the room she asks her, "Before you start mingling downstairs, could you let Ruedo know that he needs to go with me to find cookies? I know this is a ruse, but it probably wouldn't look good for me to be wandering around town by myself in this....condition."
Once back downstairs she climbs up on the chair next to Ruedo and stands on it while holding onto her backpack and looks at him.

Ravanalonna |

Upon going downstairs.
Ravan sits next to Ruedo for a moment."Eri wants to go find a bakery and get some cookies. She needs you to go with her while I mingle around here and gather as much information as I can." she whispers. "Just remember what she looks like in public right now and where we are.....try not to get yourself arrested." she says with a chuckle.

Eri la Grave |

She giggles as she takes his hand and jumps off the chair. Getting that excited look in her eye at the thought of the sweet treat she nearly drags Bert outside. Looking around she kind of sniffs the air for a bakery type scent.

You overhear an old soldier complain to one of the bustier serving wenches, "Soldiers today. A worthless, shiftless lot. The Balentyne is in total disarray. Not like in my day."
---------------------------
A little ways away, you hear a couple of younger soldiers talking, "Balentyne's magister, that creepy Tacitus, has been spending a lot of time working on something in his tower."
"Yeah, I heard that it's something unnatural was recovered from the north."
---------------------------
At yet another table, you hear a couple commoners talking, "Have you seen Kaitlyn Mott?"
"You mean the most beautiful woman in town? Makes you wonder how an ugly lump of man like Captain Franz Mott bag a looker like her?"
"And how does he keep her, that's what I want to know."
