I think Phil Fondacaro be better for the role of Polmar. If not married to being white I'd prefer Tony Cox.

hah. Sorry for disappearing. I vastly overestimated how much time I would have available during my thanksgiving trip home.

Oh yeah. Phil. love that guy. I remember watching Sabrina back in the day, any time he showed up I knew it was gonna be a fun episode.

Just making a note here. But TTT... do you really need to make multiple posts towards multiple people if their in one place? Like Karliah & Nephele.
Plus... why are you telling me that Karliah heard Nephele? She spoke to hear, and there's no distractions. So... of course Karliah would hear Nephele and see who it is.
Its... kinda annoying honestly. You make a lot of redundant posts, clogging the RP up quite a bit.

...
Sass? What sass?
There's no sass in that post
That is just me trying to express my feelings on the matter, without knowing how to say it without coming across as insulting & rude!
How on earth did you get SASS from that?!
Do you see what I mean when I say tact is so bloody difficult online? Here I am, trying to be as tactful and polite as possible, and I get accused of being sassy!
I mean hell, there's nothing wrong with bringing a problem up to the DM! I didn't know how to solve it, but it was a problem. Then when I brought it up, other players were able to offer solutions. What's so wrong about that?

Placing bold on your text is the way you typically indicate speech on the PBP's, or is at least in the 20-30 PBP's I have all been in. It is rather confusing when people use "" and don't bold...its rather hard to pick out the "" vs. the bold text, even though it may not be 100% grammatically correct.
Talirin |
Just seems redundant if the bold means the same thing as "" but if the GM wants us to follow this I am okay with it.
Not saying it is grammatically correct just the way we have communicated via the PBP in the past.

Fine with me. I'm going to be doing a lot of stuff tonight (packing+shopping+cleaning) and then have to work & drive for 10 hours tomorrow so probably won't be particularly active.

Hopefully when people return they'll be more willing to write down more than one line... admittedly, the boards have very long lines. But still, its kind of depressing to be putting out 2-4 line posts on a regular basis... and get replies such as 'Rose's eyes narrow. Is that a threat?' That's 7 words... that's it.
Is it too much to ask for people to put in a bit more effort into these things?

Happy holidays!

Considering the Feudal system of law, the fact that your request was granted for others to judge the accused should be a significant gesture...not sure where you are getting your idea of a modern court system from.
It is a little annoying. But the character is allowed to have ideals. Even if they're anchored in the modern or ancient world.

So my real life got way more crazy, thanks to my new job in nursing. It takes a lot out of me, to where running this game well is just not in the cards, right now. I am not enjoying it, as it is starting to feel like a chore. As I am both physically and mentally exhausted. So I am calling it. As big of a bummer as this is, I am ending Giants Reign. I want to thank all who participated and brought so much to their characters and the story. Again I am sorry. Happy future gaming.

It was going to be a long haul, but eventually yes. My original plan had been to try and play the haughty but generally more helpful than harmful politician. At least until we had a decently strong setup on the surface, and a larger population. While you would be busy leading the populace in the open, I'd have found some small but important niche of power opposite of you, probably in the tunnels below, where I'd be trying to subtly manipulate peoples beliefs of your skill and who was actually doing the work in the background.
Once I'd felt that I had gained enough support I would wait for some crucial decision to be made that would make the general and hopefully bigger populace unhappy and then try to step in with some speech about "the weight of initial leadership burdening you too much, and now that things were past the hard times of our desperate beginnings perhaps it was time for someone more open minded to step in. Like me." Also there was every likelihood that I would begin using my charm magic on you to make this seem far more reasonable to you.
My plan changed after we encountered the Orcs, but before I decided to join Polmar's quest. I had planned to use my charm person spells and my guile again to more easily control the weak-minded but strong bodied Orcs to prepare a personal army to pull a more traditional coup. If needed.
Of course to make things interesting, I specifically made it so that Jalel's plan could come apart any number of ways. He was supremely confident in his chances and abilities. He was great at convincing people and if that failed he could force them to do what he wanted, but had no real ability to read them. Why would he need to after all? Hence the lack of sense motive.
Also, while he was very stealthy himself, he had no chance of detecting anyone else who was also stealthy. So an assassin could get the drop on him pretty easily.
Plus he wasn't going to be very good in a stand-up kind of fight. His spells were about disabling threats, mostly to turn them into allies, letting his allies deal with them, or letting him run away, but not killing opponents.
Korak The Boisterous |
Alas. I wish we could have played that out. I was already considering whether Polmar was more hindrance or help and whether it would be more prudent to remove him.
Lershoth Sholme |
Sorry to see the game end, it was fun. TTT, if you pop back on here at some point, I'm curious. Did you have any particular direction you planned on things going over the long term. <- Just curious on how the general world was expected to progress outside of our actions/development.
@Jalel and Korak
LOL, it would have been fun to see such things play out. Lershoth would have supported...
Sorry to disappoint but no one had his particular support. It would have been all about who he thought would do best going forth. xD That and the least likely way to end up with a dagger in his back.
