GM Tyranius |
Thaddeus and Carson dash into the room as Carson slams his cestus right into the creature's neck while Thaddeus thrusts his spear through the creature's abdomen nearly severing it in twine.
Out of Combat you beasts!
Mors Buolgun |
"GUYS!" Mors roars to the rest of the team as he thunders aggressively into the room, black eyes searching for the threat, blade held ready, "THERE'S A ..."
He sees the crumpled body between Carson and Thaddeus, "... a lump of body parts that don't seem like much of a threat."
He lumbers in and kicks it with his spiked boot-toe, then stabs his blade into it for good measure. "Nice job, fellas."
CDG: 2d10 + 12 ⇒ (5, 9) + 12 = 26
Stepping back, he cleans his blade and looks around for more threats ... or anything else useful.

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17Thaddeus pokes the one of the corpse halves with his spear, trying to determine what they've just killed. "Could this be the beast the tengu spoke of?"
GM Tyranius |
Sorry Thaddeus knew I forgot something.
The beast is wearing jewelry that adds up to roughly 400 gp. In one of the cabinets are two vials. One with a bright pink glow and the other with a bright white glow about it.
Carson Williams |
Carson pants, taking a defensive position until Thaddeus comes up and spears the creature, dropping it. He kicks at its feet to make sure it's down, then wipes his brow before jumping into a Minkaian victory pose, raising his hand out with his index and middle finger in a 'V' shape. "Victory!"
When the others arrive, he apologizes. "Sorry lil Kazur, I'll make sure to let the next one get explodey!"
When Mors compliments him, he smiles wide. "Tried my best! I hope you find this inspiring!". He starts moving his body in a jagged, stiff motion. "Got this from some Numerian barbarians imitating some of the strange stuff over there!"

Demolitions Master Kazur |
Kazur picks up both vials, sniffs them, shakes them, weighs them, licks the corks. "Well, maybe they're potions..."
If they are potions...

More eyes the creature and the orgy-room around them, ”Lustspawn, huh? So … lust, sloth, greed, and … something else. What. The. Hells?”
Once we get Demo-Man’s potion ID’s (or Thadd helps him if a Knowledge check is necessary, instead), Mors follows Zerika out of the room, ready to see what further macabre discoveries await them.
So, across the hall, then? Zerika to lead out with Thaddeus doing his trap-thang on the door?
Thaddeus Silverhorn |
Those look like sufficient rolls. Still, Thaddeus peers over the wayang's shoulder, just to make sure he's doing it right...
Craft(Alchemy) AA Pink: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
Craft(Alchemy) AA White: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
After insuring the wayang properly labels the vials, and they leave the room of corpses behind them, Thaddeus crosses the hall and begins his work on the next door. "This could take a while. Big place."
Disable Device: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11
Perception/Trapfinding: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
Cursing the trouble that the ancient lock gives him, Thaddeus slows down, giving it another try.
I suppose we are in no hurry; assuming I didn't set anything off, I'll try again, taking 10, if possible.
Disable Device (take 10): 10 + 10 = 20

The group identifies the two items as a potion of eagle's splendor and an elixir of love.

Mors crashes into the room, crossing in front of the rotting fatty and hacking a brutish, reckless, two-handed horizontal slash across its disgusting, overripe belly.

AOO, if the zombie moves from that square (threatened.) Just realized there aren't any reasonable moves left more than 5'
GM Tyranius |
Mors rushes in slicing the creature with his bastard sword. Though he damages the zombie it does not look as if it was quite as effective as it should have been.
Zerika rushes in but the smell seems to overpower her senses casuing her to miss the abomination.
Thaddeus thrusts out with his longspear but misses the obese creature as his eyes water.

Someone want to post an action for demo master
Mors Buolgun |
Yep. FOR DEMO-MASTER
Not seeing an easy approach through the press of larger, jostling bodies, Kazur simply gets closer ... waiting for an opportunity to present itself.
Moved closer to the fight. That's his turn; don't see the point in getting him into dangerous melee when we have so many heavy-hitters already surrounding it.
GM Tyranius |
Demo Master moves in closer as the Zombie grabs at Carson and attempts to slam the dancing man.

Sorry about the long absence, my posting rate will be pretty reduced for some time due to real life. Please tell me if that's too big of a problem to cope with, I'll understand. On the plus side, I can post from a computer now!

I must have been looking at Zakon. You both have yellow hair and I didn't zoom in far enough

Mors Buolgun |
Mors waves a meaty hand in front of his face to dispel the horrible gas, ”I guess we now know what urgol dust is.”
He barks out a laugh at Zerika’s observation, shaking his head as he claps Thaddeus mightily on the back to help the poisonous gas from his lungs. ”Remind me not to try to fake anything with Zerika.”
Is the effects of the dust over for Thadd? While I don’t have the resources to heal/remove the Charisma penalty/damage, I’m certainly interested in making sure he doesn’t take more (he's ugly/abrasive enough already). And if the damaging effect it's still ongoing, is there anything we can do to help him clear it?
Heal: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
As the team quickly recovers, he looks over at Zerika and Zakon, ”Everyone alright?” He holds his healing wand up.
Anyone want to top off before we move on? I don’t mind spending a few charges to keep us rolling at full steam, though I'd also prefer not to burn through my wand acting as the team's main source of healing if it's not strictly necessary.
GM Tyranius |
Yes the effects are clear. Though you still have the Cha damage
Mors Buolgun |
Understood.
As the team finishes recovering from the quick fight, Mors gives the room a second look. ”So, gluttony? Are these some kinda twisted Pharasmin ideals?” he asks doubtfully.
Just seeing if there’s anything useful/interesting in this room, including on the disgusting body.
Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
If not, then Mors is ready to move on ... so, the door to the room directly north of the one we're in now? If so, Thaddeus, wanna do your thing? :)
GM Tyranius |
Mors notices that there are two black onyz gems (50 gp ea) lying on top of a nearby cabinet.
The door to the north seems to be locked. Upon further inspection the lock looks to be quite superior and complex.
Thaddeus Silverhorn |
"Explode?" Thaddeus interjects. "Then might I suggest a change in strategy? Leave this thing to rot!"
Thaddeus releases a string of curses, interspersed with bouts of coughing. Turning a furious glare toward Mors, he lashes out at the half-orc with a tone that could melt steel. "I take it that's a no!? Are you suicidal, or just stupid!?"
4 Charisma. This should be fun.
Mors Buolgun |
More glowers back at his silver-horned friend, ”Oh, quit whinin’. You’re standing and it ain’t.”
Hopefully we won’t run into much more that damages Charisma. If we do, we’ll figure out what to do at that point.
Zakon Hellborn |
Zerika pokes at Zakon.
He not dead. Just faking.
Zakon wakes up in a pool of his own blood and crawls out of the poisonous mist.
"What just happened? I never saw it coming. Zerika, thank you for restoring me to life."
He pulls himself up by his bootstraps and examines the northern door.
"Thaddeus, can you bypass this lock with enough time or do we have to hack the door to bits?"
GM Tyranius |
Upon seeing the lock it looks as if it is beyond anything he is able to currently pick, almost as if it is magically enhanced.
Mors Buolgun |
”So … use the Chime? Break the door? Or just leave it? May not even be anythin’ useful to us in there.” He grins over at Zerika, ”I say we bust it down.”
He waggles his crowbar in the air enticingly.
Mors Buolgun |
More puts his hand on the chime, making sure Carson can't activate it. "Hold on. That thing only has five uses, and we ain't got a clue what else is in this place. Let's at least try musclin' the door open first."
Strength, plus crowbar: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 4 + 2 = 20
Thaddeus Silverhorn |
If breaking it down doesn't work, we could always leave it for now, and come back if the chime still has charges later.
"Hmmph. Leave it. We haven't found anything worth a damn since we got here, anyway."
Mors Buolgun |
"Buck up, Cowbell," Mors grunts as he strains agains the door, "we'll get to use that Pharasmin thingy at some point while we're in here."
I agree with Thaddeus. Let's move on and see what else we might want to spend our Chime charges on before we decide to revisit this room. Though I'm still hoping we can force it open. :)
GM Tyranius |
The heavy door does not seem to budge
Where to next?
Thaddeus Silverhorn |
Grumbling to himself, Thaddeus sets to work on the door behind them. "Doors, doors, doors - nothing but doors!"
Let's try the room behind us...
