Lovissa finds nothing particularly useful for paint/color...nothing happens as she attempts the Artist and Scholar rituals...
As Lovissa lights her flint and steel while holding it over the diorama, nothing happens...however, when she lights the blank page within the miniature city, the diorama briefly glows...
Soldier ritual completed...this ritual grants each of you a +1 insight bonus to AC if you have taken damage since the start of your last turn.
Grey, the Witchwolf |
Grey digs through his bag and spell component pouch to see what he has to help Lovissa. "Here is some color." as he offers Lovissa two small vials, each having only a few drops of blood in them. He also picks some zombie gore our from under his claws and offers it.
Lovissa Halenbane |
"Haha!" Lovissa laughs heartily as the fire causes the diorama to glow. "The soldier ritual is complete!"
---
Lovissa smiles as she takes the vials of blood and carefully picks the zombie gore out from under Grey's claws. She doesn't seem to think it's weird at all.
Once complete she smears the zombie gore onto the buildings in the diorama. The she opens the vials and drops the blood onto another building, smearing it around with her finger. She also grabs some ink from her bag for good measure, and drops the ink onto another building, smearing the ink around. By the time she's done her fingertips are stained a blackish brown.
DOES TODD LOOK SLIMY? If he does, Lovissa also swipes her finger along his skin and smears the slime onto the diorama with her fingers.
If nothing happens she asks if anyone has anything else she can paint with.
---
Seeing nothing happen during her reading, Lovissa closes her journal and thinks. "Anyone else want to try?"
---
What about the craftsman? Did my hand made soap knife do anything?
Cerryl Grey |
Lovissa I wonder if the Scholar did not work because it wasn't part of diorama the sparks didn't count but once you lit the flame in the diorama the soldier ritual completed. Maybe copy the notes or some history to paper and put in the diorama before reading from it?
Cerryl looks around to see if he can find any raw materials to perform craft alchemy check
[b]Think we need to make a finished product from raw materials for the craftsman? Let me see if I can find anything to use around here.
Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (7) + 11 = 18
Craft (alchemy): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11

Lovissa Halenbane |
Lovissa shrugs at Cerryl's suggestion and scribbles some notes onto a new page of paper with her charcoal. Then she places the paper in the diorama and reads it aloud.
Knowledge History to write down an obscure bit of Ulfen history: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
Untrained Perform Oratory to read it aloud to her comrades: 1d20 ⇒ 4
GM Otha |
After Lovissa applies her grisly paint, the diorama glows yet again...
The Artist ritual is complete...this ritual grants all of you a +1 competence bonus on Perception checks to notice creatures.
Cerryl, go back and check my original post from when y'all first saw the pool and diorama...pretty much everything available is mentioned there. Once you check that, tell me what it is you're trying to craft...
After Lovissa applies Cerryl's suggestion, the diorama gives a familiar glow...
The Scholar ritual is complete...this ritual grants all of the PCs a +1 competence bonus on Knowledge checks made to identify the abilities and weaknesses of creatures.
Grey, the Witchwolf |
Nodding to Lovissa and Cerryl "You're good".
Moving to the last tunnel and glancing back at the others. "Ready when you are, no rush." Grey draws his short sword and whetstone and begins fixing the edge after it was dulled by the hard flea carapace.
Lovissa Halenbane |
Since her soap carving didn't seem to work, Lovissa grabs her bag and follows Grey, waiting for the others. "I too, am ready."
Rykaar Val'Mor |
Rykaar observes his companions, fascinated by their creativity and imagination. Having no skills in crafting wares, and less as a painter, he just watches standing next to Grey. He is on the lookout for any threats coming from the last tunnel.

Does anyone have some string think we just need to create another bracelet from the string. All I have is some copper wire and leather which I could attempt to create one but not sure if it will work.

"I-I'm ready to go," Todd claimed, not aware that he was about to get froghandled by Lovissa but feeling strangely at peace with his situation.
Checking his gear, which seemed to be consisting of very little, Todd shook his head. He was about to mention that he didn't have any string when Grey stepped up. And all was well.

Thanks Grey.
Taking the silk Cerryl starts braiding the silk into a simple loop and places in the diorama.
Craft (untrained): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Hope this works not sure what the craft in this case would be and if I should gain the Int bonus or use Dex.
GM Otha |
No worries, UlSkadi, it's good to have you back...hope you're on the way to recovery...
Cerryl, with Grey and UlSkadi's assistance, crafts a silk bracelet and places it in the diorama...the miniature city again gives off a glow that the party is getting used to now...
Craftsman ritual is complete...this ritual grants all of the PCs a +1 competence bonus on Perception checks to find hidden doors and concealed objects.

Great job everyone and guess that makes it 5/5 of the rituals we know. I'm ready to start west and finish mapping out these caverns.
Writes down the observations made while completing the rituals.
Rei UlSkadi |
if I am not mistaken thats all the rituals correct? UlSkadi comments with a fox smile of satisfaction. Feels good to have completed a Ritual. she pulls out a parchment and makes some notes about the ritual.
Lovissa Halenbane |
"Well done!" Lovissa compliments the others on their bracelet building.
"Onward!" Lovissa exclaims, when she realizes everyone is ready to move on.
GM Otha |
The mood is high for the party, after they complete all the rituals, as they set off. The passage leading west from the gillmen’s holy site varies from 3 to 6 feet wide and is coated with the omnipresent bioluminescent fungi. Though the party encounters several points where the tunnel branches off in different directions, all of those paths either narrow beyond the abilities of the party to traverse, lead back to this main trail, or are blocked by a cave-ins.
The persistent glow of the bluish fungi dimly lights the way deeper below the Kortos Mounts. The tunnels broaden to reveal a shallow river that bisects an immense tunnel stretching to the north and south. To the east a small passage exits the chamber at a steep incline….
Within the cavern, the dim light fades into darkness to the north and the south. The cavern stretches nearly 100 feet in each direction, but is otherwise unremarkable save for the inlet and outlet of the ancient river responsible for creating this chamber and most of the surrounding tunnels over the centuries. The river through this part of the cavern ranges from 10 to 15 feet wide but is only 1 foot deep, and it flows languidly at an almost imperceptibly slow speed. Trekking through the twisting passages to this large cavern takes approximately 20 minutes…
As Grey leads the party into the cavern, his sense of smell alerts him to the presence of others…a few more steps confirms it, as there are two kobolds across the river whom happen to see the party at the same time...
Kobolds: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21
Cerryl: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Grey of Mut: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Lovissa: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
Rei Ulskadi: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
Todd: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Rykaar: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
The kobolds react a bit quicker than the Pathfinders and fire their slings at the first one through the tunnel, which happens to be Grey...
Green Kobold Sling (Grey): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
Damage: 1d3 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0
Red Kobold Sling (Grey): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
Damage: 1d3 - 1 ⇒ (2) - 1 = 1
The first stone hits a glancing blow against Grey's left ear, stinging him just a tad (1 hp non-lethal damage), but not enough to keep him from dodging the second stone...

As Grey delays to look for the best way to cross, UlSkadi boldly steps forth and sends an insult, along with a missile, straight into the gut of the southernmost kobold, visibly staggering the wannabe dragon...

Use 40' of movement to move diagonally towards the kobolds through the narrow part in the stream.
I'm hoping that clears 5 feet of water with the running start, if double moving is not a running start: I splash through the stream ineffectively?
GM Otha |
Yeah the stream is slow-moving and not deep so no worries on the Acrobatics...and you'd clear 5 feet of water...however...
Grey brashly rushes forward to engage the kobolds...just as Grey gets ready to go airborne, he hits a pressure plate and a hidden dart comes flying at him...

Todd ran forward, noticing that the Kobolds were very far away from his position. Upon getting to where he wanted to be (where he has moved to the map) the Grippli dropped his rapier to the ground and used his standard to pull out his short bow.

Surprised that she's the last one into the fray, Lovissa boldly stomps her way straight across the stream and up onto the other bank, longsword in hand.
"Bring your face to my sword, you draconic runt!" Lovissa taunts the kobold. "You look like a Linnorm's runty whelp!"
Rei UlSkadi |
for information, would UlSkadi be able to charge the remaining kolbold from her place? or would she be disadvantaged to do so?
GM Otha |
As Lovissa crosses the river, the remaining kobold yips in defiance at the Pathfinders and sends a sling stone at Rykaar...

GM Otha |
As the Pathfinders move on, they find that the route to the surface leads through a maze of tight passages that include steep ascents and short climbs as they wind from west to east. As you think you’re nearing the exit to these tunnels, you can hear the faint sounds of a distant battle echoing through the cave along with a familiar woman’s voice half-shouting and half-reciting…
“As the legendary Gregaro Voth successfully battled the wild beasts in the deepest reaches of the Mwangi Expanse, so shall I defeat you, foul servant of Lamashtu!”
Grey, the Witchwolf |
"She still fightin'?!" Grey reaches again for the thin pouch at his belt, feeling the unholy symbol of his Lord and God and prays: "Bless these blades and I shall pay a tribute in blood."
Grey casts Divine Favor and moves 20 ft forward.
As he hustles forward every step is true, every puddle he steps in is shallow with good footing, no rocks slip or roll under his boots, even the bio-luminescent moss provide light just where it is needed. The luck of the gods is with him.
Lovissa Halenbane |
"Not for long," Lovissa proclaims loudly. "Onward, comrades! For glory! For JANIRA!"
