Since my first attempt at this has seemingly died I think I'm going to restart it. This thread is for people to put forth possible characters for a Feast of Ravenmoor campaign.

Character Creation guidelines:
Characters are level 3
Standard wealth by level(3000)
Classes from Core, APG, UM, and UC are acceptable
NO third party publishing sources allowed
Non-standard races will be considered on a case by case basis but I'd like to keep most of the party consisting of the core races.
2 traits
Hero points will be in affect. You will be starting out with 1
Stat generation will be 20 point buy.
Full HP at first level and the roll or average(which ever is higher) for second and third level.

I'm looking for about 4-6 players. I'm looking to have all slots filled by Sunday with the game starting on Monday morning. This is NOT first come first serve so continue to apply as you wish up until Sunday. Any other questions can be posted here.

NOTE: I am currently with out internet access at my home so I will be posting from the library. With the rectrictions the library puts on computer access I ask for everyone's patience as I screen characters and once the game begins. Thank you in advance.

Background Info:

Avaren was raised in the Temple of Sarenrae from a very young age after her parents we slain by undead. The village Avaren was raised in came under attack by the legions of undead sent by an unknown necromancer. Most of the villagers were killed in the attack.

Avaren was only 5 years old and remembers her father holding the foul creatures off at the door. Alas, their numbers were far too many and eventually they killed her father in front of her as they breached the house. Avaren’s mother curled up with Avaren under a bed, trying to protect her. The rotten walking corpses could smell the fresh blood though and began crawling their way under the bed, clawing away at her mother. When her mother’s arms went limp, and she was dragged away from Avaren, her panic grew to such an extreme that she could hardly breath. The beasts began clawing their way towards her. Avaren could see their rotten faces and could smell their putrid stench. They were abominations that should not exist. That was all she could think, "they should not exist!" The small child then felt a sudden warmth fill her, followed by a bright light emanating out from her body which blinded her. She suddenly felt at peace and as her vision returned, all she saw were smoking lumps of ashes where the foul beasts had been.

None of her family in the village survived that day. The wandering priest which frequently visited the village found her the next day and took her to the nearest temple, the Temple of Sarenrae. The temple already seemed to have a lot of novices and the priests appeared to be concerned about the inconvenience to house and train another. The head priest made sure that Avaren was accommodated though and had said something to her that first day that she never forgot, and was never provided an explanation for. He had told her, “I have been waiting for you.”

General Info:

Avaren is somewhat of a pacifist. She is not well skilled with weapons and feels her best place is just to help those that are more suited to fighting. Avaren has lived a very sheltered life in the temple and is very confused about the way people outside the temple behave and act. Avaren is a dedicated healer and greatly despises all things undead.

I see monks as front liners and not really fact finders but that might be a misconception on my part.

I'll allow Eastern weapons because I'm pretty sure those are from UC. And adventurer's armory is also in since it was published by Paizo. You can take craft skills if you want, as there is a little bit of time to do some crafting at the start of the module.

The ninja’s attacks deal extra damage anytime her target would be denied a Dexterity bonus to AC or when the ninja flanks her target. Bonus damage from sneak attacks is precision damage. Ranged attacks count as sneak attacks only if the target is within 30 feet.

No Trace (Ex) +1 A ninja learns to cover her tracks, remain hidden, and conceal her presence. The DC to track a ninja using the Survival skill increases by +1. In addition, her training gives her a +1 insight bonus on Disguise skill checks and on opposed Stealth checks whenever she is stationary and does not take any action for at least 1 round.
The ninja must be able to see the target well enough to pick out a vital spot, and must be able to reach this spot. A ninja cannot sneak attack while striking a creature that
has concealment.

Ki Pool (Su) (4) A ninja gains a pool of ki points, supernatural energy she can use to accomplish amazing feats. The number of points in the ninja’s ki pool is equal to 1/2 her ninja level + her Charisma modif ier. As long as she has at least 1 point in her ki pool, she treats any Acrobatics skill check made to jump as if she had a running start.
By spending 1 point from her ki pool, a ninja can make one additional attack at her highest attack bonus, but she can do so only when making a full attack. In addition, she can spend 1 point to increase her speed by 20 feet for 1 round. Finally, a ninja can spend 1 point from her ki pool to give herself a +4 insight bonus on Stealth checks for 1 round. Each of these powers is activated as a swift action.
The ki pool is replenished each morning after 8 hours of rest or meditation; these hours do not need to be consecutive.

Ninja Trick (Bleeding Attack) (Ex) A ninja with this trick can cause living opponents to bleed by hitting them with a sneak attack. This attack causes the target to take 1 additional point of damage each round for each die of the ninja’s sneak attack. Bleeding creatures take that amount of damage every round at the start of each of their turns. The bleeding can be stopped by a DC 15 Heal check or the application of any effect that heals hit point damage. Bleed damage from this ability does not stack with itself. Bleed damage bypasses any DR the creature might possess.

Here is my background.

English is not my first language. I hope that my background is consistent.

Background:

I was born 150 years ago, somewhere in the Southern Fangwood, In Nirmathas. Ten years later, I saw how my parents died with an illness that rotted their flesh. I can´t remember anything about them, except by the last words of my mom “run, don´t look back and run like if a demon is following you”. Or maybe it is only a dream I created to explain why I run away.

Many days later the luck guided me to Crossfen, a small hamlet in the Fangwood edge. Here, I received help from a young man who heard my history and looking into my watery eyes told me “It´s too late. You don´t have anything to do at your old home”. Then he gave me food and a place to live. He was the person who introduced me into the ninja path. This path was built in an old ninja sanctuary hidden somewhere in the Inner Sea, I can´t reveal this location, I made a promise.

The young man and many other ninjas forged my knowledge of the ninja path. My life has not been easy. My practices involved fight, cruelty and sometimes death. Everything I have gotten was paid with blood, pain, suffering and sweat.

A year ago, an outsider attacked our sanctuary, destroying it. Again my destiny was to run away, hearing screams full of pain and laughter coming from a mad creature.

The leader of the sanctuary gave me his flaming katana saying “I can´t use it anymore. It seems like your life is to run away but always with a purpose. Now run and get more power, grow as a ninja and then look for revenge as a payment for my katana”. These words marked the beginning of this new way on my life. From since, I have been traveling around the Inner Sea, looking for adventure, knowledge, weapons and power.

Someday I will go back to the sanctuary and will take revenge over that mad creature that destroyed my home, my friends and masters.

As long as she has at least 1 point in her ki pool, she treats any Acrobatics skill check made to jump as if she had a running start.
By spending 1 point from her ki pool, a ninja can make one additional attack at her highest attack bonus, but she can do so only when making a full attack. In addition, she can spend 1 point to increase her speed by 20 feet for 1 round. Finally, a ninja can spend 1 point from her ki pool to give herself a +4 insight bonus on Stealth checks for 1 round. Each of these powers is activated as a swift action.
The ki pool is replenished each morning after 8 hours of rest or meditation; these hours do not need to be consecutive.

Ninja Trick (Bleeding Attack) (Ex) A ninja with this trick can cause living opponents to bleed by hitting them with a sneak attack. This attack causes the target to take 1 additional
point of damage each round for each die of the ninja’s sneak attack. Bleeding creatures take that amount of damage every round at the start of each of their turns. The bleeding can be stopped by a DC 15 Heal check or the application of any effect that heals hit point damage. Bleed damage from this ability does not stack with itself. Bleed damage bypasses any DR the creature might possess.

Backstory:

Loranys spent every waking moment of her childhood dreaming of becoming a Kensai, one of the prestigious members of the queen's royal guard. She worked tirelessly on blending swordplay and magic, honing her reflexes and sharpening her senses. She knew she had the talent needed, and only had to find a way to join the order. She started working as a sword-smith's apprentice, in the hopes that she might one day be able to craft and deliver a sword to one of the illustrious Kensai. After twelve long years, her chance finally came. She decided to demonstrate her skills while presenting her newest blade to an old veteran by the name of Canbril. He took note of her prowess, and brought her before the queen herself. After being rigidly examined, Loranys got her wish, and was inducted into the ranks of the Kensai. She took this as reason to train even more fiercely, and quickly became well known throughout the order for her grace and guile. She began to receive promotion after promotion, and was climbing the ranks faster than any before her, however, this victory was cut short when an army of orcs invaded the land, and laid siege to the palace. The Kensai were dispatched to cover the queen's chamber, while the queen herself escaped through a secret passageway. After three days of battle, Loranys found herself alone, the sole survivor of her order. She now searches for her queen, offering her steel and spells to those in need.

Slevin's background:

Virgil was an itinerant cleric of Desna indulging in his usual wanderlust when his fate changed. Approaching one of the roadside shrines to his goddess that were common to the wilder regions of Varisia, he discovered the unconscious body of a very pregnant young woman, curled up at the foot of the shrine.

Picking her up and making camp near the roadside, the old cleric nursed the woman back to her senses, healing her as best he could. It seemed that the girl had been turned out by her father after the lout that had gotten her pregnant left the town to join the military, the girl forgotten as quickly as his indiscretion.

With nowhere to go and with no more than two months before she was due, Virgil traveled with her joining a caravan that found much use for a travelling priest of the eternal wanderer. In time the child was born, and though it was a hard birth, Virgil's help spared the Karina's life though his healing was not strong enough to maintain her health.

They stayed with the caravan eventually joining others, the call of the road deeply infused in this unconventional family, the older man and the young woman falling in love as they travelled, raising the child to a great love of the open world and especially the beauty of the night.

Eventually though, Karina's health failed, and though she died well before her time, she did not regret a moment of the last five years of her life.

For Virgil, the loss was intense, and after another five years on the road, his aging body and aching heart led him to abandon the road, introducing young Slevin to life in the confines of the cities.
The boy had difficulty adjusting at first, preferring to spend his nights outdoors, often sneaking out at night to be able to see the stars. It was on one such night that his life would drastically change.

Having been out well after dark, entranced in watching a meteor shower, Slevin lost track of the hour, causing Virgil enough concern to venture out in the hours when few with good intention were about. With his gift for direction he soon found the boy sitting atop the roof of an inn, and took him towards their home. The dark alleyways were home to those who avoided the light, the criminals and thieves, murderers and others, and it seemed as if Virgil's light was a draw to them as a group of thugs materialized from the shadows only a few streets from their destination.

It was that night that Slevin learned his harshest lesson, one that would come to define his life. Though the night was a thing of wonder and beauty, it was also the cloak that would be abused by those who would prey on others, corrupting the beauty of darkness, spreading fear, poisoning the night. Though the old cleric was still capable, he and the boy proved no match for the ruthless thugs, and as the ran off with what little ill gotten bounty they could, the boy was left bleeding over the body of the only father he had known, alone with nothing but the darkness to comfort him.

Found by a guard hours later, the boy, still in shock was taken to the orphanage where he finally succumbed to his pain and exhaustion falling into a deep sleep. It was in his dreams that he would find both peace and purpose as Desna herself visited him, a rarely encountered aspect of the goddess, a hard, cold side born of loss, tragedy and battle. Draped in diaphanous black silk, winks of black and iridescent purple, a starknife in hand she came to him a message of hope and purpose. The night was hers, a thing of beauty and wonder, but a fragile thing whose wonder needed to be protected from those who would corrupt the darkness to use for evil. She handed him a stone, deep black, almost infinitely dark and when he looked into it, he could see the true beauty and mystery of oblivion.

When he awoke he was not only healed in body but also in spirit, driven by a powerful drive to become what was needed a guardian of the night.
The years of training were hard, but he never faltered, feeling his goddess presence every time he stepped out into the darkness to punish those that would corrupt his beloved night.

Furiel was small even for a gnome - and very weak. He was constantly picked on by other gnomes and more so by the other races in his cosmopolitan city of birth. According to his parents, there was gold dragon blood in his veins. He showed an incredible aptitude for magic, and was apprenticed to a local sorceror where he found his size didn't really matter. His master commented that wizards that are noticed, tend to get hit a lot.

Furiel vowed to stay small and unremarkable and bide his time. He found out when he was teased and bullied, he could grow claws on his hands and feet, but this made him even more an object of ridicule. Furiel has left to seek his fortune in the greater world where creatures are not measured by size and strength.

I went out on a limb and decided to make a swamp druid, fully statted out in this alias. The only thing missing are his traits and the stats for his animal companion, though I will most likely go with a constrictor snake.

As for the backstory...

Orphaned as an infant, Benzir was raised by the elves of Churlwood. Adopting him into their druidic culture, they passed onto him their reverence of nature, instilling him with their beliefs. As he grew older however, he began to become frightfully aware of his human heritage. Even as a young man, he was seen as little more than a child; compared to his centuries-old elders, he might as well have been. This realization troubled his mind, plaguing it with doubts - it came to a point where he could no longer feel the breadth of the land beneath his feet. Feeling that he could no longer be at peace among his elven guardians, he chose to leave.

Benzir traveled for days, trying to come to terms with his human nature - could he ever truly be as close to nature as the elves? It was in the least likely of places that he found the peace he so desired - the swamp. Sinking his feet into the mud, he felt oddly at ease, as though he belonged at the very place he stood. Satisfied with a solitary existence, he spent the next years familiarizing himself with the land, occasionally helping other travelers navigate its breadth.

It was only rarely that he would visit the nearby town of Ravenmoor, and for good reason.
