Slypher's staff sings through the air, striking the female Blackraven with such force it nearly takes her head off. She staggers for a brief moment before bringing her great sword out to try to do the same to Slypher.
Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18 for damage: 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (2, 2) + 3 = 7
Her blow is nearly as strong, and the magus has to struggle to see straight! However, her joy is short lived at Jostrum's arrow catches her in the gut and she falls to ground bleeding to death.
Will Save: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (13) - 1 = 12
Female: -4 HP
The Captain Blackraven doesn't even see the carnage and he continues to sob into his hands. For his sorrows, the crazed warrior Sorin drives his two-handed sword deep into his arm, nearly amputating the limb! In return the warrior tries to pick up his axe and attack Sorin.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
His wounds prevent him from making a clean attack, and glance off of Sorin's armor.
MAP
Osric has a readied action he can take at any time. Then you'll have your regular action.
Initiative Order: Sorin, Slypher, Osric, Alonzo, Pai, Blackraven2, Blackraven1, Jostrum
Slypher Xen |
STATUS: 3/10 HP (ouch)
Slypher strikes out at both of his opponents, the captain and the woman, before lightly stepping away from the captain.
Staff 1 (M): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17, Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Staff 2 (F): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13, Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
5-foot step up one square
DrGabe |
Slypher's staff connects with the captain, breaking ribs and puncturing his lung. However, the captain is made of stiffer things and stays on his feet just in time to doge Osric's incoming crossbow shot.
Osric- I'll assume that was your shot from last round, you still have an action for this round if you wish.
Initiative Order: Sorin, Slypher, Osric, Alonzo, Pai, Blackraven2 (unconscious), Blackraven1, Jostrum
Pai Song |
Pai Song sighs at this obvious and unbeliavable waste of resources and precious lives and casts mage armor on herself. Then starts to run to 6h to look for the goblins. Meanwhile she shouts:
Leave that captain alive we need him to find out what´s going on here! Better follow me to look for the goblins!
Pai Song |
The left Blackraven, the captain, is charmed by me for one hour and really no threat at the moment. Also it would be good if he stayed alive so we can gather some information with him later. There was someone at the goblins, which in my eyes seems to be more important at the moment.
Slypher Xen |
The captain, having been attacked, is no longer charmed. But yes, we should investigate the goblins ASAP. I imagine with that last set of arrows & bolts, the threats here are probably neutralized anyway.
DrGabe |
Amazingly the arrows narrowly avoid the Blackraven Captain. Dodging blows and arrows, he attacks Sorin with his axe.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
But his attempt misses woefully.
Initiative Order: Sorin, Slypher, Osric, Alonzo, Pai, Blackraven2 (unconscious), Blackraven1, Jostrum
Stabilize: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4; Blackraven 2 @ -5
Blackraven 1@ 2 HP
Slypher Xen |
Slypher makes a quick attack against his foe, but stops short with his second strike, seeing victory at hand.
Staff 1: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17, Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
DrGabe |
Slypher's rapid actions connect with the slowed Blackraven warrior. Knocked senseless, he collapses to the ground, unconscious.
Taking a '10' on perception, you will realize that there are sounds of combat going on in the back room where the goblins were kept. We are not over yet! Combat continues.
Sorin vos Naran |
Sorin pushes the falling captain out of the way, darting for the sounds of combat. He bursts through the door, and without thinking, attacks whomever is stupid enough to attack his charges (even if they are stupid, nasty, smelly, annoying charges).
Rage. 3/6 +2 dmg/hit -2AC
Two handed raging power attack: 1d20 + 4 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (15) + 4 + 2 - 1 = 20
Smash!: 2d6 + 4 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (3, 1) + 4 + 2 + 2 = 12
Jostrum Finderwell |
Pai Song |
I still run there and when i got a free line i shoot the first guard in sight with my crossbow.
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 131d6 ⇒ 4
DrGabe |
As you warriors start to get close to the door, you see that it is closed and locked!
Glad to you see you all back after they cleaned up the servers from the Goblin Christmas party!
Once you get to the door (map will be posted soon, waiting for the rest of the PCs) you'll need to make a Disable Device or STR check to open/break it
DrGabe |
I took the Liberty of moving for Alonzo and Sorin.
The round ends with three adventurers standing in front of the locked wooden door. Slypher and Jostrum "help" them by shouting words of encouragement, Put your back into it mate! Near the door handle, its weaker there.
New round starts. You can definitely hear the sound of battle going on in the closet and it sounds like the goblins are on the loosing side!
Alonzo Break Test: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19
Alonzo is easily able to break the lock with his boot! The door flies open, and you can see two Blackraven Warriors obliterating the goblins.
MAP
PC's turn.
Osric Sarus |
Osric moves NE E and quickly takes in the scene. Gritting his teeth at the very thought, he channels positive energy to heal all of his comrades, including the GOBLINS!!! He fully expects it to leave a bad taste in his mouth.
Only Osric's friends and the goblins are healed if they are within 30 feet
1d6 ⇒ 1
DrGabe |
Alonzo- moves into the room and fires with his pistol at the first Blackraven Warrior.
Touch Attac: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10.
But the attack just barely misses the. Everyone in the room is defended for a few moments after the horrible sound of gun fire.
Meanwhile, the Blackravens continue the attack on the goblins, trying to finish their task.
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
Fortunately the goblins are just fast enough to keep from their Battleaxes this turn.
Its the PC's turn. Sorry for the short delay, but apparently I was spending the last few days having way too much fun with my kids. I hope you all had a great holiday as well!
Slypher Xen |
Can I occupy the square just left of the top left goblin? And what is that thing that is neither a human nor a goblin by appearances (and is mostly dead)?
Slypher Xen |
Slypher stretches forth his hand and a slippery magic bolt flies at the handle of the axe the far warrior holds.
Grease (DC 14 Reflex or drop weapon) on second warrior's weapon.
Sorin vos Naran |
I can't see the map at work...not that a barbarian cares anyways. Move to the nearest still standing mercenary and hit him.
Rage. 5/6 +2 dmg/hit -2AC
Two handed raging power attack: 1d20 + 4 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (1) + 4 + 2 - 1 = 6
Smash: 2d6 + 4 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (5, 6) + 4 + 2 + 2 = 19
And Sorin missed anyways...
Osric Sarus |
sense motive +4 to see if the guard is really wondering what is happening or if the he is just stalling 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Finishing the deal is what we are doing here. OUR job is to deliver this little gobbos alive to our patron! Now, lay down your weapons and step back!
diplomacy +2 to get them to disarm 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
Pai Song |
Finish which deal with whom?
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
By the way Captain Enrik is indispensable with a message he just received. He seemed quite struck with it. With the last sentence Pai Song eyes Sorin.
Bluff: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
DrGabe |
Osric can't tell for sure what the Blackraven is getting to. It seems to you that he is playing a dangerous game.
Pai's words seem to hang in the air, Where is Enrik? Why did he not come in the room with you? ENRIK! the man bellows.
Meanwhile, the goblins arm themselves with all manner of wooden plates, blunted knives, and wine goblets broken at the stem.
Pai Song |
I cast charm on him. It´s best to interrogate one and get information about what´s going on here. Also i tell the goblins in their language to only attack the two if my magic fails. And if they attack they should leave one alive.
DrGabe |
The Blackraven warrior holds his attack, taking a defensive stance. Suddenly Pai utters her arcane words and the warrior's mood changes instantly. Oh, my... this has been a huge mistake. Please, no further attacks. I've just joined the Blackravens actually. And, wanting to make a good impression, I'm just following my Captains orders. Honestly... now I see how bad this looks!
You are able to secure and heal all of the goblins (save for the one that is very much quite dead) as well as take the Blackraven's prisoner. The Captain freely admits that he defied orders and wanted to have the goblins killed. He was seeking revenge. Goblins murdered his family some years ago and he hoped this would avenge their death.
Less than a day's march, you reach the extraction point without further complications. Handing over your goblin charges to the team on Trollheim they are disappointed to see Blackravens involved. It seems such a waste to punish fine men like Enrik and put our trust and hope in such scum as these goblins, one of the men mutters under his breath. The goblins give a last worried look over their shoulders as they are carried away. The officer suggest that the PC's not linger here, the political situation is dicey at best. There is a ship leaving within a few hours, you have passage already booked.
Check the discussion thread.

The frigid salty air actually comes as a relief after your few days with the goblins in the wilderness. The journey south is free of incident. After a week or so, you stop in the magnificent city of Magnimar to reprevision. Before the captain can even finish tying off at the dock and checking in with the quartermaster, a tall half-elven guardsman wearing a pin of the Pathfinders approaches the boat. Welcome to Magnimar. I am afraid that your shore leave will have to wait. There is some business that is urgent and you are needed. The Venture-Captain, Madaam Heidmarch, is waiting for you.
The half-elf bows and gives you a moment to gather what you need. He politely tells you that any gear that isn't essential will be handled by the porters and taken to the Hiedmarch Manor.
It is assumed that you had time to stop at another port to sell and purchase new items.
