Talon's keen senses pewrceive something not quite right about the cell's southern wall. After carefully checking it out the vigilante finds a mechanism opening a secret door leading to the other side of the wall, into a small passage, leading to more closed doors and to a larger hall, farther south.
Perception again please. Map updated

Oren Mitabu |

Oren again takes he lead through the secret door.

Rocco Hardweather |

Perception Rocco: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Perception Kurglunn: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Rocco and Kurglunn follow along quietly, backing up the others as they check the various cells. As the Hound opens the secret passage, they peer down the hidden hallway.

Lirotha Karsani |

"Secrets upon secrets!"
Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15
Map updated! Does this secret corridor seem to be in use, or does it look like we are the first here in a while?

The Hound Of Kintargo |

It's hard to tell if the Hound is smiling under his mask at Morricone's praise. But he ventures forth into the secret corridor.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19

Valrani notices the soft sound of pages being turned and ink staining pages coming from the hall located at the end of the newly revealed corridor.
If you want to advance you'll need to roll stealth

Oren Mitabu |

Stealth 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7

Oren Mitabu |

Ugh. I'm sorry, guys.

Lirotha Karsani |

Ugh. I'm sorry, guys.
Don't worry about it Oren. We're only 3rd level. There really is too many of us for perfect stealth without magical aid (Silence Spell or some sort of group Invisibility) or similar.

Rocco Hardweather |

Yeah, no worries Oren. Especially when you've got Rocco around with his ridiculous stealth bonuses.

Despite your efforts to approach the main room silently Oren, unused to such underhanded tactics, stumbles and causes a lot of noise as she trips on the floor. She recovers immediately but it's too late, as you hear a gruff voice announcing:"What was that? Orlev! Go to the cells and see what it caused the noise!" this is followed by rapid shuffling of feet on the paved stone floor and a man wearing the same asmodean tunic of the ones you faced above gets into view. For a moment he looks at you, startled then he shouts:"Intruders! Raise the alarm at once, we are under attack!!!"

I don't see the baddies on the map. Is it updated or is my phone just struggling?

Lirotha Karsani |

Yes, they are there for me...the green one is at the end of the hallway in front of you...I will move you up Oren to engage him OK?
Hissing again, Lirotha waves at the secret door.
"By the gods! Move quickly my pretties! Or our surprise is lost!"
Rather than push closer, Lirotha stands and holds her Slumber Hex ready for the next enemy she sees.
Readied action: Slumber Hex!

Oren Mitabu |

Oren moves forward and attacks the one with the green kerchief.
Attack 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
Damage 1d6 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 3 + 1 = 10
Thanks, Lirotha!

Rocco Hardweather |

"Alright, Kurglunn, go get 'em!" Rocco stands back and draws upon his connection to the Astral Plane, ready to reach out with his strange powers to take down this new wave of enemies. For the time being, though, he simply moves forward and draws his knife.

Kurglunn the Runner |

Responding to his master's call, Kurglunn rushes forward, weaving through the crowd of Ravens and hurrying down the hallway. Until he sees the enemy that is, at which point he promptly turns and takes cover in a convenient alcove nearby.
Double move.

![]() |

Oren smashes into the redactor hitting him hard but not enough to make him fall on the ground. At the same time Lirotha prepares her magic, while Rocco and Kurglunn move closer to the action.
"Lazlo, free the beast and warn mistress Nox, quick! We'll keep these miscreants occupied!"
Two other thugs advance on Oren and try to hit her, although the small corridor impedes their attacks...

How much AC, Oren? If it's 18 you suffer 3 points of damage. You are out of mutagen. I also need to know how many turns of bardic performance (if any) Morricone has left.

The Hound Of Kintargo |

Move action for Martial Flexibility to get Precise shot for a minute. 2/4
The Hound kneels down where he is and takes aim with his musket to clear the way for oren. "No point in bein quiet now." He says in his gravelly voice. Then there's a loud bang.

The Hound's shot kills the green clad monk on the spot.
Oren steps forward and does the same with the next one in line.
Valrani closes the distance.
@Oren: tell me what opponent do you want to attack. Since the Hound acted before you and clearly killed green I think it's only natural Oren would have aimed her fists at another target. Stepping forward to avoid the penalties for cover

I still don't see the enemies on the map, DM, so move me up and I'll swing at the next closest one. Thanks.
Edit: ah, I was still looking at the last map. I see them now. I'll attack black after my 5' step.

Lirotha Karsani |

Removed Green and Black enemies. Sorry guys, I thought everyone realized what map we were on. Oren...I gave you your 5 foot step for your attack on black, Val I moved you up since you moved AFTER Oren. You could get a swing at Blue...but he would have partial cover (or something) from the doorway. Now assuming the Hound's gun was loud enough...
Hearing the gun's blast echo through the doorway behind her, Lirotha gambles...and rushes back out to the main hallway and continues around...hopefully get a clear shot with her magic.
Lirotha winks at Morri as she turns to leave.
"See you on the other side handsome."
Double move for a Mad Dash...
Perception(Mad Dash- traps, obstacles or enemies?): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (5) + 11 = 16

Kurglunn the Runner |

Now with more of his friends engaging in the fight, Kurglunn feels a little more confident about getting into the mix himself, so he pushes through the wall ahead of him, leaving a shimmering layer of ectoplasmic goo on the wall, and appears again beside Oren. He moves around her and slams one of his large, monstrous arms at the Redactor with blue-rimmed spectacles.
Slam, PA: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8 Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
If hits, DC13 Will save or the target is shaken for 1d4 rounds.

Rocco Hardweather |

"Nice shot, Hound!" Rocco says to the masked shooter as he moves into the hallway beyond him. The halfling's curiosity is cruelly peaked as he hustles past closed doors on either side, but he knows there are still threats present, so he simply moves into the alcove where Kurglunn had stood moments before in order to stay out of the more martially capable Ravens' way.
Double move

In his desperation the last redactor to hold the line tries to punch down Oren...

The other recator fumbles with the chains holding the door in front of him close but finally manages to open it. The howl the greets him is bloodcurdling as a huge Hellhound enters the room, its jaws slavering...

Damage 1d6 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 4 + 1 = 7
Attack 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 5 + 1 = 11
Damage 1d6 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 4 + 1 = 10

Lirotha Karsani |

Lirotha rounds the last bend...to see almost exactly what she had feared: Another overlarge hellhound had been set loose upon them!
"Desna give me strength! Spread out everyone! Remember those things can breath fire!"
She then pulls a Harrow card from her sash, energizes it with her magic and throws it at the distant hellbeast!
The creature is only 60 feet from Lirotha and she's slightly elevated I think on the top of the stairs. So that 3 range increments (20 ft for my Harrow card throws). So...-4 to hit total? (-2 per range increment beyond the first, right?)
Deadly Dealer Card: 1d20 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 - 4 = 3
Damage(Magic/Piercing): 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Nope. Not by a long shot!

The Hound Of Kintargo |

The Vigilante Known as the Hound runs down the corridor after hearing the howl echo through the halls and as he gets to the doorway he reloads his musket, this time with a cold iron bullet.
"Oh crap."

Kurglunn the Runner |

Kurglunn slams at the Redactor, desperate to finish this part of the fight before that Hell beast comes to kill him.
Slam 1, PA, IC: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 3 + 1 = 23 Damage, PA, IC: 1d6 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 3 + 1 = 10
Slam 2, PA, IC: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 3 + 1 = 18 Damage, PA, IC: 1d6 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 2 + 1 = 9
He then quickly steps away from Oren, trying to spread out away from Oren so the Hellhound can't kill them all with its fiery breath. 5ft step

Rocco Hardweather |

Rocco remains hidden until Kurglunn and Oren defeat the redactor, then he scampers out past his companions, taking cover behind one of the tables in the middle of the room. Delay until the redactor is down, then double move.

![]() |

Oren, Valrani and Kurglunn finish the redactor and the phantasm steps away from the possible hellhound charge.
A wasted effort because the creature has a diabolic quality to its animal cunning. With a low growl the monstrosity advances a few paces and then releases a gust of searing flames on the Silver Ravens!
Bad dog breath!: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 1) = 2 next one in Turns: 2d4 ⇒ (4, 1) = 5
Morricone and Kurglunn DC14 reflex save for half...
The flames are not very hot though, most damage is done by the stench of sulfur the creature emitted it seems!
Meanwhile the last redactor escapes into the next room closing the doors behind him!
