Nailed it!

Kat successfully navigates the ledge and makes it across to the other side without incident.

The Exchange

Female Elf Rogue (Unchained) / 3

Kat makes a flamboyant victory pose once on the other side just for giggles and to subconsciously keep morale up. After a deep, sweeping bow to the spectators on the other side of pit she turns and carefully inspects her side of room looking for anything out of place as well as a way to help the others get across.

Isador looks to the rest of the party

Lets hope there is a hidden bridge of some sort, I am pretty sure that most us will not be able to duplicate Kats performance but, before we attempt to cross, who is going to carry which items from the bag?

I will not be able to carry all of it and keep up with everyone.

my response to Kate before her Olympic like feat of crossing the water

Kat..I am a studied practitioner of the Arcane so the scrolls will be very useful to me as I expand my knowledge and abilities...when we have the proper conditions, I will scrub them in to my spell book

I watch in as the blood haired woman leaps over the water, a grin in my face as she does it with relative ease. I carefully place the scroll into the large goatskin satchel on my furca, insuring it is sealed properly fro the elements.

Let me have a look of each of these wands...I do have some skill in the use of such devices

Caoilte begins observing the way they came, then turns to the party and snorts. Hey folks, keep in mind, that stuff ain't ours. I say use it if we need it but that half-nutty halfling playing with that minotaur might want that junk back.

Kat accentuates her landing with a bow and fades into the darkness ahead. She tells the party that the cavern opens up into a larger chamber not far ahead. She sees not threats in her immediate facility.

Havelock flicks each of the wands a few times in an attempt to activate each item. He is unable as to activate either wand.

Note: In PFS there are rules regarding acquiring magic items. While you are able to use items you find in game during the session, they are not added to your inventory once the session is complete. Rather, the item is unlocked for you and is added to your character's available items via a chronicle sheet that you will get after the session, As for adding the spells, you may be able to do that as an exception to the rule (FAQs specifically allow a caster to do this., but there is a cost in gold associated with the scribing as well as time needed to actually study and write the spell. The spell would need to be on the spell list for your class and you would also need to succeed on a spellcraft check. Copying a spell in this fashion will take at least 2 hours if spell is first level.

Kat is now successfully across the pit o water. The rest of the party now formulates a way across.

The Exchange

Female Elf Rogue (Unchained) / 3

Kat looks for something to secure her end of the rope onto or something that can span the gap.

Kat finds a stalactite that she could use to secure the rope. Caoilte is able to secure the other end, so there is now a makeshift rope bridge spanning the pit.

The party, after some preventive shedding of armor and heavy items, is able to successfully cross the bridge. The crossing, other than being wet and uncomfortable, is otherwise uneventful.

After crossing the pit, the party quickly re-dons their armor and equipment. The party forms up, with Kat scouting ahead hidden ins shadows.

The tunnels continue on, leading deeper beneath the Kortos Mounts until they eventually open into a large cavern. What must have once been beautifully carved reliefs and inscriptions have since weathered heavily, their features dulled and softened to the point that it is hard to distinguish what each once depicted. A wide tunnel exits the cavern on its far side, and blue-burning torches line the passageway’s walls.

Caoilte, I do not disagree that this is all owned still by our halfling mentor, but knowing what this stuff is, and if it can aid us in a crunch I think is responsible.

I looked and nodded to Caoilte as I spoke, before looking at the pit when a idea crossed my mind

Kat, can you see if there any footprints, on the other side of the pit or some mechanical or physical means for us to cross? If not, I have a sneaky suspicion that there may be a underwater tunnel or passage that may lead to where we need to go, to get to the other side. WE should act quickly, before we are discovered

Taking the scout's position ahead of the group, Kat works methodically as quickly and as silently as possible. Eyes and ears sweep and keep alert for anything out of the ordinary, sounds of approach or that they will be approaching someone or something and, of course, any thing that might be considered a treasure or trinket. She does not keep to a straight line but searches all corners and crevices of the cavern that does not lead into another cave or tunnel, it would not do well to get flanked with their pants down because she was in too large of a hurry.

Along the way she stops to admire and inspect the carvings and inscriptions and tries to see if she can decipher any of them. Of course, she also runs her fingers along the edges lightly, seeing if they might not be as secure as they appear.

Kat examines the various paintings along the walls here. Though similar to the previous petroglyphs, these are much more elaborate. At least they were as most of the reliefs are worn and faded beyond recognition. Of the many intricate depictions, only four bear enough form so that they may be interpreted.

Eloriand smirks at his crude companion's remark.

The party takes a few moments to examine the paintings on the walls in the cavern. Each member, save for Caoilte, goes over each of the four reliefs. Havelock asks several times where the paintings are located, then pretends to be able to distinguish them from the rocks as the rest of the party attempts to decipher their meaning. Kat, with nothing much more than a hunch, can tell the paintings have some significance, but the party is unable to decode their meaning at this time.

After about 10 minutes, Caoilte, standing watch up to this point, finally reaches the end of his patience. The looming cavern and smooth sailing thus far has his warrior's instincts on edge. He prompts the party to move on which the begrudgingly do.

The soft light of the surrounding fungus mixes with the flickering glow of the nearby torches to reveal a grand chamber. A large pool of water along the chamber’s southern edge reflects the blue and green radiance to illuminate the massive stalactites that cling to the ceiling overhead. Two other tunnels branch off from this area, leading to the east and west.

Rising up from the pool is a column of rock with steeply sloped sides and a flat top, as if someone had sawn off the top of a massive stalagmite. A miniature city carved from this same stone occupies nearly the entire surface. Tiny trinkets such as ancient coins, polished semiprecious stones, and ornately braided loops of string are scattered throughout the diorama, and pale cave frogs clamber atop it. The smooth cavern floor is covered in gravel and pebbles along the edge of the pool, and several foot-long centipedes prowl among the gravel in their search for prey.

Kneeling in the water is a lone gillman with his head bowed, eyes closed, appearing to be in deep meditation of prayer. He does not appear to notice the party as they approach the pool.

I have moved the tokens on the map to reflect your new positions. The white block to the south of the gillman represents the mini city described above. Unless otherwise specified, all maps are orientated with north being at the top of the map. Please let me know if anyone is having trouble viewing the map. Also, linguistics is a trained only skill, meaning you have to have at least 1 rank to attempt a check, just FYI.

The Exchange

Female Elf Rogue (Unchained) / 3

Kat drops as far into stealth as she can and slowly approaches the lone gillman after attempting to make sure nothing was going to jump out from a crack (especially Caolite's), trying to read his body language and the area around him for clues to both what he is doing as well as if he will be initially hostile. She also keeps wary for anything else that might be of interest or cause issues for her companions behind her.

While still just a hunch, she feels fairly certain that the still unknown cloak, petroglyphs from the reliefs that Isador copied and the miniature city were all connected. But then again it was like asking what a scarab beetle always rolled around.

For Kat:
As you approach the kneeling gillman, you are able to observe him in the glowing blue torchlight. He sits quietly and eerily still. His face betrays a calm reverence for his surroundings. His robe is ornate, a light sea blue with gold shapes sewn in various places. From this distance, you can only make out a little of what the shapes depict, but you are certain they appear to be the same marine animals and swirling symbols found along the walls if the cavern. The robe also bears a strong resemblance to the one the party found in the flooded pit.

I walk forward cautiously to the bent over gill and I get to about 10 feet from him, I stop, presenting what I hope is a pleasant smile on my face as I remove my helmet and cradle it under my left arm, allowing my right hand to still be free in order to draw my blade or even launch a spell if need be. I then address the being politely, first using the common tongue and then using Celestrial, Elven, and Draconic in that order if I do not get a response.

Pax Deorum....peace of the the gods be upon you and I apologize for such an appearance as we are, but we did run into a particular savage beast which has forced us to seek shelter here.

I look on at the gillman while also being aware as possible of where the rather large centipedes are at...sidestepping them if possible...acknowledging Isador's comments and deliberately not looking at where my fellow compatriots are at, lest I give away their movements if the amphibious being makes the unfortunate, for him, decision that I could best be whale food for his pet Orca. Thankfully my father was a architect and not a fisherman or whaler

Havelock approaches the gillman and announces his presence. The kneeling humanoid does not react to Havelock's presence or words, his eyes remaining closed, a serene smile upon his face. Havelock looks around at the party for a moment before taking a few more cautious steps toward the gillman. As Havelock steps to the edge of the pool, his boot dips into the water, causing a ripple that travels to the gillman. The gillman's eyes open abruptly and he looks up at Havelock.

The gillman gives Havelock a polite nod, as one would expect from a stranger at a market or theater. The dark haired humanoid then looks at Caoilte then to Isador. He does not seem angered or insulted by the party's presence and does not seem to be threatened. Caoilte notices the gillman's eyes go just a shade wide and stare at the cloak draped around Isador for a long moment, clearly taking an interest in the garment.

He looks politely back at Havelock and smiles.
