Fenna's up- I got the impression you'd like to play your character until tomorrow afternoon :P.

Figured, I might hurt the croc's feelings if I stole its kill...:)

While the crocodile is a great grappler, it is rather mediocre in dealing damage for its level. I was thinking I would let it do its job while Kalev finished it off.

Round 5 Action

He will also try to spur his mount on as a move action to increase its base speed by 10 ride 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
EDIT: He is just unsuccessful so with his second move action he sheathes his sword as the mount moves 70' this round but does't quite catch up with the troll. I end up in squares d,e 42,43 about 25' from the troll.
He yells, Ilya, help me stop this troll from escaping if you can!
EDIT #2: Almost forgot my regen :) Inheritor, heal thy servant!

Foolishly, I didn't replenish my supply of Alchemist's Fire, so that was the last one.

"I am afraid I haven't got any more fire, so the chances of taking one of them alive has somewhat increased." Fenna states to her companions, pulling Dandelion back from the prone troll before repeating her prayer to Aroden a third time, at which a wash of nebulous colours rains down from her outstretched hand.

5' step back to Q26 and try colour spray again against the prone troll in the grease... it's bound to work eventually!

Your Humble Narrator

1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23 Will save success

Fenna is starting to believe that the troll's must have been specially trained to resist illusionary pattern magic, as the prone troll stubbornly refuses to succumb to her magic! However, the prone troll is aware of Kalev and Casimir flanking it, and is reluctant to invite strikes bystanding up. The troll lashes out at Kalev, its wounds healing up. Even prone, the claws are dangerous and one catches the half-orc across the face.

Without fire they will be hard to keep down. Fortunately, I brought extra.

Casimir shifts his position a bit north, pulls out a flask of alchemist fire and hurls it at the prone troll.

Ranged touch on the prone troll, aiming so the splash will hit the other one 1d20 + 8 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 8 + 1 + 1 = 23 fire dmg 1d6 ⇒ 2

Your Humble Narrator

1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10

The prone troll lunges for Casimir again in the opportune moment, his claw whistling through the air and never really going anywhere the duelist as he dodges casually. The fire licks at both troll's, suppressing their regeneration.

Malthir continues to ride after the fleeing troll, while Ilya...

Mr. Chompers goes for the kill.

Full round action to coup de grace the unconscious troll.
Damage 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

Fortitude DC 26 or die.

Ilya speeds forward and looses a blast of light and color at the troll.

Move to square C45, cast color spray on fleeing troll. Will save DC 16.

Your Humble Narrator

No need for the save or die, the damage alone is enough to slay the troll.

Executing the infamous crocodile 'death roll', the celestial beast grins in delight as it slays an evildoer with its ferocious bite, leaving a broken and mangled troll lying dead upon the ground. You get the sensea summoned creature has rarely enjoyed its duties so much. Ilya speeds forward and flings a burst of colours at the troll, but the troll refuses to succumb to that particular spell, much like his fellow trolls. The fleeing troll breaks into a full sprint, rapidly covering 120 feet as his long strides carry him east.

1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18 Will save success.

The fleeing troll has moved one hundred and twenty feet east with a run action. Kalev is up.

Should we let him go, guys? I can keep up with him with my fly spell, but only with double move actions, leaving me unable to attack him.

Malthir is not giving up yet, round 6 I take my potion of expeditious retreat booting my base speed to 50' which means he can no longer outrun me. My run speed will be 150' which I will use after the horse moves at least 105feet this round and next round if I fail my ride check to boost its speed.

Your Humble Narrator

Ok, couple of points I have to clarify. Firstly, the potion would increase Malthir's base speed from 30 to 60, reduced to 40 by armour, and with a run speed of 120 (x3 in heavy armour). Secondly, you cannot chain movement; i.e. the horse taking a move action then you leaping off and taking a run action- you've spent half the time for the round atop the horse while it moves so a full round action would not be feasible.

Judging that Casimir should be able to catch up to the fleeing troll and keep it occupied for a short while, Kalev lifts his axe again and strikes at the prone troll in front of him.

Attack: (Ranger's Focus, Bless, Inspire Courage, Power Attack, Prone Target) 1d20 + 11 + 4 + 1 + 1 - 2 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 11 + 4 + 1 + 1 - 2 + 4 = 29
Damage: (Ranger's Focus, Inspire Courage, Power Attack) 3d6 + 10 + 4 + 1 + 6 ⇒ (3, 1, 2) + 10 + 4 + 1 + 6 = 27

Your Humble Narrator

Fenna unleashes another color spray against the prone troll, but the beast manages to resist it once again. The troll continues to attack Kalev from the ground, its movements slowing from the punishment it has taken but still fast and vicious enough to catch Kalev with a nasty bite.

1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22 Will save pass

1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23 Bite, hit

A look of concern crosses Casimir's face as the prone troll delivers yet another vicious blow to the enlarged Kalev. He glances back and forth between the fight in front of him, and his comrades futile efforts to catch the fleeing troll, knowing that his magically enhanced speed is the only hope to stop it.

Confident that the might of Kalev's wild axe-blows and the healing gift of Fenna is enough to defeat the prone troll, the arcane duelist turns and runs after the fleeing troll as fast as his magically quickened feet will take him.

He is a blur as he seems to fly down the hill and across the grass, closing the distance in a matter of seconds. Coming to a halt in fornt of the troll, just outside the reach of his claws and fangs, he turns and raises his sword at the green giant in defiant challenge.

I should have know you would run like a scared rabbit, you ugly green chicken-dropping! You can try to flee, but you will not escape. I will chase you all the way to the shores of the Inner Sea if I have to, carving little chunks off your backside every step of the way. Now face me, if you dare!

Run action to a square in front of the fleeing troll - D76 or something like that. Just far enough in front of him to be out of reach. The prone troll gets another free AoO.

Even with your 240 feet movement super-run, your only able to get 10 feet in front of him, so i've placed you there, blocking his path. Note that as Casimir does not have the Run feat, he is flat-footed until his next turn, including for the AOO's.

Ilya fires an arrow still airborne, and it flies through the air to narrowly miss the troll's shoulder, the distance spoiling the shot. The troll launches himself at Casimir in a fury, still hoping to escape. The troll moves to close range and lashes out, its bite completely failing to get anywhere near Casimir but managing to latch both claws into his upper torso and with a grin, the troll maintains its grip for a moment and then tears and rends his claws out of Casimir forcefully. The brutal punishment is too much for the Aldori, and he pays a high price for slowing the troll down, falling down with blood streaming from the two wounds...
