Well I'd be disturbed to see something half-eaten and ghostly figures, Margat says.
She doesn't want to descend first, but will do so if no one else volunteers.

Fundir |
Since we are using the knotted rope, shouldn't we be using a climb check?
Fundir waits his turn to go down the rope by taking a few moments to remove his armor. Normally, his coat doesn't interfere too much, but he really doesn't want to take any chances. He stuffs his armor into his pack and then tosses his pack to the others waiting below. Right before he takes hold of the rope, he closes his eyes and concentrates for a moment. Suddenly, his form begins to change! His ears elongate into feline shapes, and his skin begins turning colors, settling into a striped pattern of fur. He leers around at the companions that can see him, and then takes hold of the rope and moves down.

So as you make your way down the slope, Fundir quickly loses his footing a moment, but was fast enoigh to grab the rope, and prevented himself from sliding down the rest of the way.
Margat wasnt as lucky when she lost her footing, she stumbled a bit and managed to get slapped in the back of the head by a tree branch
tree banch: 1d3 ⇒ 1 non lethal
The rest make it down with no issues
As you approach the crypt now infront of you you see an archway of stone is set into the side of a small hill at the bottom of this valley. Moss has overgrown many of the details, bit one is still quite clear. The keystone of the arch is carved with a flame symbol with a stylized rune in the middle. Beyond the archway is a darkened tunnel that leads to a pair of massive wooden doors, one of which is slightly ajar.
A pair of horses and a trio of ponies lie slaughtered next to the archway, each corpse still tied to a post set into the ground nearby. A swarm of flies hangs lazily in the air above them.

Margat Varyas |
Pride wounded, Margat picks herself up.
That hurt plenty. Well, at least it wasn't a foe... she said.
Margat examines the dead horses and ponies to see if she can tell what creature did this.
Looks like another group has been here. I wonder if they met their end within.

Kolret |
Kolret climbs down the rope surprisingly easily for his large size. While everyone else is investigating the entrance, he dons his armor.
Fundir |
Fundir moves closer to the ponies, trying to discern how long they have been dead and what killed them. Speaking aloud to the others of his observations, he then moves around the area trying to find any tracks or sign of the people that brought the poor animals to this place. When he has discovered all that he can, he moves over to the entrance to the crypt and peers within.
Fundir has low light vision. If this is not enough to see within the crypt, he will drop Aspect of the Falcon and use Aspect of the Bat for darkvision to 60'. This will subtract 4 from the perception roll.

GM Sapphire Fox |
Margat, with your knowledge nature, you do notice that the bodies here werent prepared at all for what happened, almost like they were ambushed
Camred, studying the archway, you can't really discern much from the over grown and faded works on the archway
Fundir, you have no idea how long they have been dead, though you gather that there are tracks, extremely faded and almost gone, most look like human coming from the horses location, that lead into the crypt, however when you peer into the semi lit room, all you really see is a small entryway with 2 wooden doors closed at the other end
Margat and fundir, give me a perception on the horses
Bakko |
Bakko walks near the party, looking at the signs of the ambush and being followed by Gandakan. The summoner stops, by moments, and starts detecting magic to see if he notices anything particular.
Let's be on our toes, my friends. We don't want to be caught unprepared.
Kolret |
After donning his armor, Kolret moves to the rest of the group. What's happened here? He gestures at the horses. As he sees Fundir moving towards the horse, he moves to assist.
Strength: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22

Pillows? Hmm.. a nobleman or halflings? Margat says. If they had horses they didn't come from the same route.
Margat checks the area for tracks of where the steeds could have come from.
Survival: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
Fundir |
Fundir drags the body out from under the horse and gives Kolret a nod of thanks as he begins to go through the belongings. He stuffs the lamp oil into his pack in case they need it later, but disregards the pillows. "Anyone here use a bow? These arrows may come in handy, and we can split the rations up between everyone."
Once everything is situated, he moves back towards the entrance of the crypt. "There is a small anteroom here, with doors at the end. Lets see what is next!"
He draws his mace and steps within, keeping an eye on his surroundings.

Fundir moves into the room, making sure that it is safe for the party to join him. Confronted with the doors on either side, he shrugs his shoulders and moves towards the right side of the room. Carefully, he peers at the door looking for any sign of traps or of it being recently disturbed. Once he is sure that the way is safe, his Falcons head and beak melt away and his bulk and girth greatly increase. His face elongates into a bovine resemblance, and horns erupt from his head. He grasps hold of the door and strains to pull it open.

Sorry for the sparse posting, site's been down every time I get a chance to post lately.
Camred draws her rod and follows Fundir into the crypt. "This should be quite exciting. Hundreds of years of history at our fingers."
GM Sapphire Fox |
The doors open but with a loud thud as they seem to fall forward into the room with only very little light from the entranceway and no other source around, in the middle there is a pile of dead bodies. But popping up around the room are skeletons.
I will start the combat when I am off work tonight, I apologize for the delay

Fundir sees the undead move in and engage Flyn, and is frozen for a moment. He snaps out of it, and moves forward drawing his mace as he comes. His features still look more like a bull than anything else as he brings his heavy mace down on the nearest skeleton.

Unfortunately for Fundir he trips over the air as he moves in, nearly taking Flyn's head off along the way..
