Note: Alaric is under-level, but this was the only table available to him by the time I found the signup.
I am willing to drop out, if folks think this will be an issue, but I am figuring that a pair of druids with ACs won't hurt.
As a word of disclosure, I have run 8-99c once already, and will be running it at Gen Con. I know what i am in for, and am willing to take the risk. However, I'll understand if you all aren't.
Though, we are Fighter 6, Fighter 6, Wizard 5, Ranger2/Rogue3, Druid 5, Druid 4.
I wait to hear from you all, and to play this with you all.
There is an option I am exploring to swap with a player at the 3-4 table, who has a level 6 character.
Silgil |
Can you play out of tier in a special like this? if so, I'm fine with it.
Alaric Ysande |
You can play out of tier, like any other scenario.
However, I have been able to make the trade, so will be playing in tier.
GM - can you remove me from the character list in campaign info?
thanks!

Excellent that was resolved. We are about a month out from starting...looking forward to it. Cheers!

Just a quick heads up. Starting Friday 17-Aug until Tuesday 21-Aug my internet connection is going to be spotty. I expect to get in a morning and an evening post, but likely only that.
Radagast the Brown |
FYI, since I don't want the party to think I am being testy/upset, I'm re-posting this from PM :-)
Oh no, not at all - I've fulfilled my function by granting the rest of the party a light source in this encounter (I mean, I've played A + B at this tier, so I knew *precisely* what I was doing to my PC!) :-)
Even if I break out of the grapple, I'll need to stay where I am (so that the party can see what is going on), which will just result in me being re-grappled again, so I just need to suck it up.
That's the problem with PbP - nuances of intention are sometimes not clear :-/
I'll re-post this in the discussion thread, just so that it is clear to everyone that I am not upset...
Chaosorbit |
Okay gang -- Hmm posted in the Flaxseed Lodge that they want the Con to continue through any future outages on the Paizo site. To me the easiest of the suggestions she makes is to use Google Hangouts.
Here's what I'm thinking, bookmark the map page. If Paizo goes down again, I'll post hangout info there and we will move on until Paizo comes back up.
How's that sound to everyone?
Silgil |
Bookmarked!

Sure Will - not sure if you would pass through any settlements on this journey, but since you are traveling with a large host of Pathfinders and the Twinhorn Following, I think you could probably find the supplies you need.
Silgil |
That sounds like a good idea. Silgil would like to get a scroll with 5 lesser restorations for 2 PP.
Will Hawk |
I am going to be travelling Sept 20-23. I might occasionally get to check in and post an update, but for the most part I will not be online. Please feel free to bot me using whatever disposable resources I have.
Silgil |
Have we had an aid token yet?
Chaosorbit |
yeah Silgil -- the Aid tokens have really bogged down -- haven't seen one move for several days. We haven't had one is quite awhile.
Chaosorbit |
We are drawing toward our conclusion and the fate of the Fangwood Forest still hangs in the balance! Reports from HQ are that the special will end late this evening pacific time; so we still have sometime to get this done!
Let's go ahead and get the boon rolls going.
Roll a d20. A 19 or a 20 wins a boon. If you do roll a 19 or 20, then roll another d4 to determine which boon you get.
(If you haven't rolled when I post the chronicles, I'll roll for you)
Good Luck!
But first let me see if I can steal all the luck by rolling first!
GM boon roll: 1d20 ⇒ 8 Eh..not so much
Chaosorbit |
Hey if you have a quick minute and feel like providing some, I'd like some feedback. I've GMd a lot of PbP and sometimes I wonder about certain aspects of running the game.
Specifically, How easy is it for you to follow the way I post combat action. The formula I use is:
1) Notes to players and in general about prior action or condition, etc. in OOC blue.
2) Rolls usually spoilered to take away some of the jumble; but I might not if it's just a couple.
3) The action summary of the players and monster/npc actions in standard black text, with bold talk if applicable; and any relevant OOC info like save DCs.
4) Round summary listed like:
Round # Effects
Then initiative order, bold to indicate whose up, and italics notes for damage and conditions/saves etc.
If it makes sense I'll use rolling rounds, separated so it basically stays in order.
5) OOC blue summary affirming who's up and any important notes.
So how easy is it to follow? Sometimes it seems so busy and sometimes I feel like the action description gets lost in the middle like that and I wonder if that should just go first, all the time; and all the OOC, round summary, and rolling below it. Thoughts on that?
Thanks in advance.
Chaosorbit |
Well, I will certainly do my best to keep squeezing the posts out!
Yes you certainly do! And I appreciate it.
Silgil |
boon roll: 1d20 ⇒ 18
Remember we all have that charm of luck to use up.
Brak Thunderstriker |
1d20 ⇒ 20
I really like the post set up. It's clear, and I like having the status updates, as it certainly makes my life easier. Description and clarity is also great! 5/5 Would sign up again :-)

Thanks Brak an Ibaz!
We have a winner grats Brak - roll me a d4 to see which boon you get.
Looks like a timely aid token has arrived. Perhaps a 3d6 burst of healing?! Anyone can roll it...so go for it.
Polanco Goldhammer |
Boonroll: 1d20 ⇒ 20
Whoa Boon
Boon: 1d4 ⇒ 2
I also have appreciated your posts and clarity, our schedule differences often made it so I was falling very far behind, but that's on me not you.
Chaosorbit |
Another Winner! Congrats Polanco and thanks. Yeah I realized early on you and I were on much different schedules. My apologies, I wish it could have been smoother for you. Hope you enjoy it anyway.
Gang, I be working on the chronicles shortly and will get them posted soon.
Thanks again for an enjoyable time!
Still need boon rolls for Radagast and Will.
And I need PFS info for Radagast (and day job if applicable)
Silgil |
I had no problem following the story/action.
Chaosorbit |
Thanks for the feedback...I'll keep doing what I'm doing.
Radagast boon: 1d20 ⇒ 10
Will boon: 1d20 ⇒ 18
Chronicles are here.
Let me know if they look okay. I'll close this thread in day or two (or after everyone checks in one last time).
Cheers!
Ohh..almost forgot Brak and Polanco please PM me the email address you want your boon sent to. Thanks!
Will Hawk |
Thanks, GM! I thought you did very well, specifically due to the site difficulties. Occasionally I got a little lost on some of the combat details, but some of that wa my own fault, and you are always quick to clarify when asked!
