Gerard you remember this building belonging to a local silk importer that had ties with the Gruilos family.
The dottari corporal looks at Andrea and is about to move her a long when he remembers seeing her talking to Maurice. "Aye...happened 'bout 4'n da morn. Everyone shelter up...not seeing anything. Merchant wasn't there...lucky 'suppose."
Daniel Arrisen |
Daniel finds himself saddened at the relief he feels now the rack were coming.
They would restore order but would be brutal in it's application.
Let us make haste, we should prepare ourselves as best we can before heading into the lions den. All that has been done will be for nought if we fail.
He looks squarely at Gerard, I hope your head for SOUND tactics has returned. We are hoping to END Illnerik once and for all, not chance our hand against pawns. As it was at the Maggot Tree, let's cut the head from the snake. The body will fall.
baldwin the merciful |
Your able to make it back to the the Tilernos manor, he'll buy your items. He rationalizes he can destroy the unworthy items getting them off the streets and use the other gear for his house guards and other loyal noble houses.
As for obtaining items that is a bit more difficult given the City's in turmoil. Talbard's was looted and burned, he was only able to salvage a few items of worth. What are you looking for from him?
You need to go to Gruum's and McAllister to see what is happening in those areas of town.
Andrea1 |
Getting my Cloak of Resistance to +2, Wand of Lesser Restoration, Possibly get light shield to +2
Looks like we will need to run over to Grumm's and Alistar's. I need to pick up an item I had commissioned from Alistar.
Andrea gives Fiosa a kiss when they head off.
Daniel Arrisen |
Daniel claps Gerard on the back as he turns, Ha. Surely that is a good thing. Be sure to speak slowly so I may keep up.
Gerard Nisroc |
Gerard smiles at Daniel.
Hey Talbard... Know you've had a rough time of it... They leave trinkets, wands, my little dagger?
Wand of Message, Mage Armor, Expeditious Retreat, Summon Monster II? Goggles of Minute Seeing, better Cloak of Resistance (to +2)?
Euphemia di Nereis |
Getting whatever was on my wishlist that is available... ;) Wishlist is for one Scroll of Daylight, Eyes of the Owl, and oils for a reincarnation. I need to update my wealth, but I know I have enough for those.
"It can't be that these people have the ability to strike down everyone who has ever come into contact with you though, right?" Euphemia asks Andrea, her eyes ever on Gerard. She doesn't seem to mind the wisecracking/casual insults outside her home nearly as much, but she still hopes that what she's heard about men being able to simply be brutally honest with each other, duke it out, and then be right as rain is correct.
Frank the Hedgehog |
Mistress, I believe that this electrical impulse I have received from you indicates that your level of stress has yet to recede. I beg of you to stop thinking about last night and simply address Gerard with your worries. Preemptively, I will also inform you that talking about things is not the same as acquiescing. You had every right to be upset, after all. This does not mean you had to make your distaste physical, of course, but I suppose you could do without me saying that.
He squeaks.
Euphemia di Nereis |
I lack the courage you attribute to me, my dear Frank. That, and I'm still angry that he began a massive guilt storm during our reprieve (which was supposed to be a gift) and stormed off, possibly to his death.
Andrea1 |
You know I am wondering. While we will need the Morrowfall to end the Shadowcurse and even use it against Ilnerik, should we carry it along during our first foray into Walcourt? I have no doubt that Ilnerik knows we will be coming after him and will have his lair on high alert. So, keeping it safe until we know where he is might be a good idea. We can't afford to lose it to misfortune.
Daniel Arrisen |
Agreed but that also robs us of the ability to use it, should opportunity present itself.Speaking of which we need to find means to protect ourselves from it.
Andrea1 |
Andrea sighs. In regards to the most devastating powers of sunlight, I believe only long distance can protect us. I was struggling with trying to find a good opportunity to use it's powers but it is very limited unless one faces undead. The rays of sunlight can threaten our own group and are only truly devastating against creatures of shadow and vampires. Plus I must concentrate when using them and thus cannot use my spells or engage in melee. Perhaps Euphemia can handle it and bolster her offensive magic?
Talbard the Grey |
Talbard listens intently to the magical gear requests and glumly shakes his head back and forth, "When the attack happened I only had a few moments to grab a few items. I lost most of the items in my shop, other than a few personal items that I'll need for the defense of this house and others, but I did have your dagger secured Gerard."
Still speaking to Gerard and his requests, "I have one partially charged wand of messenger wand that I can sell, but it only has 15 uses remaining. I don't have the other wands that you request and I haven't had the fine seeing goggles in a long time. "
He pauses and turns to Orsin, "I've 2 lightning bolt scrolls that I can spare and my own glove of storing but I can't help with the other items you require."
He weakly smiles at Euphemia, "I've two daylight scrolls and you can check with Tobian or McAllister for the oils and eyesight enhancement."
Turning his attention to Andrea, "I think the Lord Tileneros may have a better shield for you, I was working on one a couple days ago. Mcallister or Tobian may be able to assist with your cloaks. Actually, they may be able to assist all of you with that type of item."
Lastly, he addresses Daniel's requests, "Your cloak can be addressed with Tobian. I've a pearl of power that I can sell you. You may want to check with the others for items."
Gerard Nisroc |
Gerard accepts his dagger and awaits the wand.
I will gladly buy what you have. The laws of supply and demand dictate a price increase?
Two more questions. Do you have anything you think would be useful and are willing to part with? Also, illegal items, where can they be found? I currently have no qualms.
Tobian the Divine |
Tobian the Divine will have the following items that he can sell,
"I've got plenty of holy water...here's 18 vials to get you started. Lord Tilernose does have a better shield for you Andrea and I can upgrade those cloaks for you all." He fumbles in a box and pulls out some oils, "Euphemia, I think these are the oils that you require and I've something for to help with your vision." He produces the reincarnation oils and the eyes of the owl.
The cloaks of resistance +2 are not a problem between him and McAllister.
Andrea1 |
Andrea will go to Lord Tilneros. Talbard said that you would have a magical shield that you would be willing to sell, What kind is it?
If Tobian doesn't have a Wand of Lesser Restoration, Andrea asks McAllister.
Andrea slips the torc around her neck. The gold and onyx circle is decorated with small wasps and imagery of Calistra, she feels the holy energy flowing through it. Thank you very much.
When visiting Grumm's with Daniel..
Have you amanged to arrange Ermolos and Grimm's raising? It is about time they got back to work at the forge, death is no excuse for not doign a good days work.
Euphemia di Nereis |
Euphemia has no idea what to think of Gerard's glances. Hers don't have anything that professional inside; they're raw and honest, but not so wide or upset as the night before.
Once the shopping begins, Euphemia gratefully purchases the scrolls, the lenses, and the oils. While she's sure the finger in her beltpouch is starting to get ripe, she has something to do with it, now. She will need to find a place to perform the ritual, though. At least the hellknights wouldn't be around to forbid it as of yet.
Talbard the Grey |
Gerard accepts his dagger and awaits the wand.
I will gladly buy what you have. The laws of supply and demand dictate a price increase?

"I've been able to secure a few doses of ghost salt." He has four doses of this material if you are interested.
He ponders Gerard's last question, "The dusk market is where such goods can be obtained...I could try to divine its location for late today but if it is operating, I'm certain there will be many council present. They always did have an interest in that specialty market."
Andrea1 |
We should be very careful with the Dusk Market, no surprise at all that we get ambushed there unless we geavily hide ourselves with illusions and magic.
McAListar would you see if you can procure scrolls of Invisibility Purge for later? We divined that the foe has access to invisibility.
Andrea will buy the scrolls of Dispel Magic and distribute them to those who can use them.
Daniel Arrisen |
Brother I cannot express fully my gratitude for the generosity you have shown this morning. Regretfully I have a further boon to ask. Obviously the task before us will prove difficult and I worry for our chances of success. I suspect the raids at Talbard's had a dual purpose, to rob the wizard and other stores of weapons and equipment for themselves and to deny said gear for us, their enemies. I am asking, Brother, if you would sell or trade me anything from your personal stores. You are the only Paladin in the city I know of with greater experience than I. This cause is surely worth Iomedae's and your favor. I have about 10000gold. A knight's Penon of battle or a better set of armor or shield. [b]
For a few moments Tilneros sees the young, unsure half-breed boy again. He had not seen that look in decades. It was a look Daniel had not had since Iomedae had chosen him, when doubts of worthiness were banished by faith. His years at the world wound had not challenged the Paladin's faith, for how could one not believe when things were so black and white. The faithful and the Demons.
Westcrown and the Maggot tree had introduced him to a shade of Grey he had not seen. Strangely it was the Rogue, that man who lived in shadow that gave him hope. For he remained pure of heart despite the bleakness.
[b] Even not for me, though it is unlikely, if you have ANYTHING my allies could make use of?
The rogue Gerard, particularly worries me. He has skill with a blade but little regard for his own defense. Something to lessen his chance of harm? Anything.
