This is Council of Thieves AP. Westcrown, City of Twilight, once was the center of Aroden's faith, but now it symbolizes despair. By day, the city remains a vibrant center of trade; but, by night only those with a death wish venture out.

The bugs are still effecting the PbP boards. Hopefully its fixed today, I am looking to add a few more NPCs that the PCs have met to the the Info Tab. Unfortunately, that tab has disappeared.

Sunny and JMAN take a look at the info tab when it reappears. You will see plenty of NPC that either have appeared in the game thread or are known by the PCs, pick a couple to add to your character background. This will help in transitioning your character into the overall story. Also, feel free to provide a name, brief description, and job of a couple others that you know this will help to personalize your characters.

The PCs have befriended a group of Dottari (the police) and its a good idea if you know one or two of those listed. There is well known money monger that reappears in the game. There is frequent brothel that PCs go to and Lucrezia works at. Gruum's armory is well known. Just as an example.

Until I can update the Info thread here are a few more NPCs:

Talbard the Grey, is the proprietor of "Talbard's Wonderous Items - a small arcane magic shop

Two Fingers Pub - small tavern near that the Dottari like to hang out.

Quint's Arms and Armor - General Armory for basic equipment and arms, along with minor magical gear. John frequents here. There is Penelope - H/Elf (cute and flirtatious) sales clerk.

Alister Mchuffin - Calistria's high priest in the city. Andrea and Duncan know him.

Quincy Blackthorn - is the proprietor of "Fizzles" a potion shop. Wizard that wearsa grey robe and red hat.

CAST and CREW from the Play:

Robahl Nonon- arrogant rude director. He is now friendly towards the PCs.

Delour Aulamaxa - arrogant aging diva that dislikes fellow actress Calseinica Nymmis.

Calseinica Nymmis - young actress, flirt with Orsin.

Thesling Umbero - constant thorn in the Orsin's side. his main competitor for Opera scenes. Rude.

Millech the Hump - stage techie, illusionist.

Mayor's House Party:

Aberian Arvanxi - Mayor and party host.

Crosael Simin Rasdovain - attractive majordomo on the mayor's manor.

General vourne - Commander of the Gemcrown Bay Imperial Fleet

Chammady Drovenge - Noble, daughter to the 1st Noble Family in Westcrown. Secretive.

Eirtein Oberigo - Noble, leader of the Oberigo family, he is always looking for information and opportunity.

Sascar Tilernos - Tilernos Noble family. Alcoholic and flirty.

Lucrezia and/or Andrea do either of you know the name of the lady that runs the dress shop and beauty shop that you frequent? I have Lady Jo Diosa written down but but I'm not sure if that was the person that was the gossiper.

FYI- Asmodeus is the only outwardly excepted Deity in westcrown. All other religions are underground.

Since your character is an ole sea hand lets use Lucrezia's employer as your introduction point. You could be newly put to land and looking for employment.

The Mermaid's Grotto - A tavern and brothel. The first floor is dedicated to drinking and gambling and is poorly decorated to resemble someone's idea of an underwater scene including bare-breasted mermaids on a large mural behind the bar.

The second floor is several small rooms for rent by the hour, furnished with a bed and female companion.

The third floor are rooms rented by several of the people working at the tavern, Lucrezia included.

The owner is Alphonse Lourdou, a wealth shipping merchant who wanted to ensure his sailors had a good place to take their shore leave. And if the money he paid them ended up back in his pocket, all the better.

Feel free to introduce a couple extra NPCs that you know in town, perhaps from previous times in the city.

Faelyn Sindrell:
You work at "Talbard's Wonderous Items" its relatively new magic shop that I introduced into the game. Talbard the Grey is your boss.

Janiven, she is one of the two NPC leaders, has been around basically feeling you out as possible supporter of "The Brotherhood of Westcrown" a group seeking to ride the city of corruption and the shadowbeast. Basically, everyone westcrown is massive city that bustles during the day but at nightfall, people shelter themselves inside. The Shadowbeast rule the night but the city is without obvious nighttime crime. You've had a few private conversations about the dreaded Shadowbeast and how they reign terror upon the people. Other Free Cities have activities throughout the day and night and are protected by the city guard.

You've done some research into Shadowbeasts. You know they are combination of shadow plane and/or undead creatures. Perhaps the result of spellcaster and/or what you suspect a vampire. I will give you a +1 knowledge of your shadowbeast knowledge which is based on your research.

Lady Elmira Pennington is the one who runs the dress/beauty shop(Past NPCs appear in the Characters tab.

Also there is a curfew in effect. Everyone gets in at night because Shadow Beasts haunt the streets after dark. Well lit streets are SB free but everything in alleys and other dark places are free game. Here is what we know about them.

Poisoned claws
'Spongy' resistant to physical damage
Look like cross between insect and crab thing
Do not like light
Some kind of chiling howl

Something we have been planning to do is try to fight one.

Things we can discuss also include what the beared devil told us about Donatalus Bisby and Ilnerk Sivanshin and the reason why the shadow beasts are around. link

Hunt a Shadow Beast
Spread rumors about the Grulios having a shipment arrive at the docks
Spread rumor that the Grulios have found the killer of their family and are bringing in a 'specialist' to deal with it.

Just click on the NPC portrait for Lady Grulios in the NPC section to find her lines. Grulios lines

Henri Stoutpour's murder is still unsolved. His 'business partner' might have a mysterious connection to it.

Punch out the thugs who threw an axe at Shinon and steal their booze.

Henk, leader of the Red Knives has a connection to the Drovange family. He met a represtintive at a tavern.

Since you have 'bouncer' listed on your character sheet, I figured the Mermaid's Grotto made sense for an easy transition. You can come looking for work and Lucrenzia already works as a bouncer there.

Look at Andrea's profile she has a several contacts there. Feel free to contact her for assistance. Also, look under the campaign info tab there are tons people listed there.

It looks like everyone has location. Sunny, Lucrezia, Faelyn are at the Grotto - mid afternoon. Sunny is at the bar, Lucrezia is getting hugged, Faelyn is playing cards.

Orsin is at a coffeehouse, John's at his training center, and Andrea is at work.

I have some morning errands, so I'll let some others check in.

I picked up Frog God Games, "Rappan Athuk" talk about a beastly dungeon crawl. So far, I have the PDF but I'm waiting on the 673 tome to ship. Just getting to the dungeon a death trap.

I have the 3.5 RAReloaded. It is far better to use it as a setting for missions rather than a huge dungeon crawl. For example, go in to ask The Oracle a question for anothe rmission.

I've never played it or run it before. Currently, I'm running kingmaker in RL, and this COT PBP game. I tried running a second PBP game but with work it bogged down both PBP games. I'll stick with running only one now.

Frog God is run by one/more of the founders of Necromancer games who made a number of 3.0/3.5 modules. Just check out necromancergames.com. The message board is pretty quiet these days but had a steady PbP section that unfortunatly imploded due to a messy 3 group mass battle at an evil temple.

Rappan Athuk is is very sandboxy and choosing bits to use for homebrews and modules is very doable.

I was running a second PBP post for while that was pretty hard. I added a pretty complex approach to the mansion, it killed Duncan's character. I just couldn't keep up the pace that I like.

I gave you the +1 Battle Axe if you get back in the game. I have you looking after Gruum's shop right now, he'll need to attend to an out of the city errand.

I'm going to run one or two side missions before tackling the next module. Build up some RP and character development.
